Sorry to hear about the loss of Kara's grandfather. Prayers to her and all her family. In memory of Pa, paint the truck that includes one of his favorite colors.
My condolences to you and your family in your loss. Running without a tarp when loaded in my state will get you a big fine from the full grown bears ( State Troopers) . Although a lot of dump buckets have them on the trucks a lot of drivers here tend to "forget" to roll the tarp out when loaded . Also running without a tailgate gets you a big fine here also. When they put that law into effect about 25 years ago, you seen a lot of trucks either being retro fitted on the tailgates to 2 way style or a whole new bed being put on the truck with a 2 way tailgate. Your F750 & JD backhoe is what bought me to your channel a year or two back. Looking forward to the tailgate & paint project on the F750. Keep up the good work. Mack
Yeah, sometimes I think I probably should have kept the tarp. I usually just haul firewood and always local so I think usually I'm fine. Probably shouldn't have said that! :) Glad to hear from folks that like the dump truck and backhoe. Thanks for the kind words Mack.
Nice pun Neil. Despite having a lot of small Tonkas and other dump trucks in my elementary school years, it hasn't come to be of need yet. Joked with a late great uncle of mine that it'd have been my first vehicle. Some of those real small rust areas might be just a quick bondo fill possibly. As for the pain (I've watched way too much Trick My Truck now), could try some wave patterns like a tribal art type. Now for the name, how about Frankie after the singer Frankie Ford (think of the song "Sea Cruise." My condolences to you and your family on the loss of Kara's grandfather. To have lived 92 years is amazing to think of all he's seen in his lifetime.
Sept 23. Neil, as I retired machine operator, I just found your channel. Im so a fan, reliving my loved profession. Your laser level, your grading experience! Buddy, with your history go see some golf course superintendents if your ever looking for satisfying work. My most memorable work was shaping greens bunkers, tees, and fairways to fit existing land features and trees so old you couldn’t touch your finger tips when hugging them. My tools where a a dual slope remote controlled lazer on top of brand new joy stick controlled 650JD dozer. I’ve shaped many new builds, including renovating one of the oldest private courses in North America, acreating fairways to existing landscapes.🤠 The pleasure of leaving your creativity stamped on this earth, is as you said on the second video I watched, a legacy for our children, well said my friend. May the God and Universe always shine on you, and fill your pound this coming winter. George
Neil, sorry about your wife's grandpa. I'm sure he will be missed. As far as the truck, I vote for solid black. With those aluminum wheels polished up that will look sweet! Whatever you decide, I'm sure it will be pretty sharp!
Yes Black and mustard yellow!!!! That would look mint!👌You’ve got a lot of work ahead of you and have fun and be safe! Also im very sorry for your loss!
Just completely renewed a 2002 20 ft equipment trailer. A lot more work then I ever expected it to be and the worst part by far was paint. Couldn't agree more
My grandfather bought a 1969 Chevy c-50 when it was one year old and had it his entire life to haul, tractors, hay, manure , you name it and a few years ago I wanted to get it back on the road and realized the years of hay and manure and then 10 years of sitting was worse thing for it. Still ran but no brakes, dump body was very rusted, the acid in hay and manure are just as bad if not worse than salt. Broke my heart to sell it but I have a dump trailer and and 3/4 ton truck that's more then enough for me and towing my Kubota. Still broke my heart to sell a truck that I can remember my entire 40 yr life.
I feel like every DIY'er needs a medium-duty dump truck in their life. That will be a sharp truck when done - I personally would paint everything black, except the side boards and the recessed panels on the dump body which would be yellow. My uncle (a landscaper) had a fleet of F-600's and an F-650 that I spent a lot of time in as a young kid. He just recently sold off most of the fleet but still has the F-650. It has the 5.9 Cummins which is a good running engine but I wish it had the Cat 3126 like yours...those 3126's were good engines and were unfortunately replaced by the C7 which was junk. Looking forward to seeing this truck restored, and sorry for your loss as well.
Thanks so much Michael! I agree that a dump truck is for any DIY guy!!! Glad to hear your uncle had good luck with these trucks. I can't wait to get it done. Thanks for the feedback on the paint job. I like your way of thinking!
👍🏼👍🏼 black w accents.. but don’t matter it’s your truck. Look forward to seeing progress. Condolences for your family for Grandpa. Look forward to new videos
Firstly,My sincere condolences to you and your family. Secondly, I think it would look sharp two tone. Maybe the yellow around the bottom and around the back of the cab
Sorry for your loss Neil now as far as paint scheme I would go all black except for ribs on the bedsides paint them yellow maybe call the truck the queen bee 🐝
Sorry for your loss, may God bless his soul. As for the painting job I noticed that you a big fan of John Deere tractors so maybe the green and yellow will be an inspiration for coming project.
Dump trucks do not get anywhere near as much recognition as they should. They are just as crucial as all the other pieces of equipment but for some reason they are less talked about. I really enjoyed this video and my favorite truck I think of all was the one with the yellow stripe on it.
I would go black truck with yellow bits Call it Derek the dump truck lol. So sorry to hear your loss I like the clip when is on the lift (elevator) lol on a chair. Never too old to want to see other man’s work and storage space. 🇬🇧😘❤️
I like the bumble bee theme, if you haven't done it already. Bumble bee is a good name for it, I think. But I'm a 71 year old truck driver, and you know how us old goats are. Nice truck. Have fun.
Great story. You obviously took video & documented before TH-cam. That helps build your story and makes it pretty cool. I am sure whatever you do, it will look awesome!! Thanks for sharing.
Kara, Neil and family Sorry for your loss. Those are some great pics of him, especially ones w/ your two little girls. Anyway just wanted to reach out on that Have a great weekend.
Sorry for your loss. Personally, I don't think the newer trucks pull off the two tone look very well, so my choice would be all black, with the chrome wheels, battery box/steps, and grill. Your original 70s dump look sweet along with your 90s F350. I sold a 1995 F350 last year, rocked a white and red 2 tone.
So sorry for your loss Neil. I'm sure Pa was a good man and what a blessing that your daughters got to know him. My input on the truck paint job (if you're changing the color) would be black and add a yellow pinstripe or similar accent. Tasteful and unique but not quite as overwhelming as the bumble bee two tone.
Safe home to Pa "Fritz". Paint the truck whatever color Kara tells you. I can see pink for the cab, you know the twins would love it! Black for the dump, with a pink stripe down the sides. Think about it. Everything you are working and slaving for is to make sure your family is provided for. What better way to prove that is to paint the very tool providing for their futures. A color that they can proudly say, "Our daddy did this for us". Got ya thinking now huh Neil? Pink and black are sharp together. Love home brother, thank you for all you do.
Thank you Greg. While I can agree that pink and black are sharp together, I have to draw the line somewhere on the amount of pink and purple that can be tolerated in one household. We've got the bikes and skateboards and roller blades and scooters all in pink and purple. But, it would make a statement... Hmmm.
Our condolences to your family Neil. Another excellent video and a fun project ahead. As for the color scheme, maybe yellow cab and black box 🤷🏼♂️👍🏻. Have a great week 🙂🙋🏼♂️👍🏻
Neil, Sorry for your loss may you and your family take comfort in being part of a life well lived,As for the name of your truck, in all my years of driving I never named the Trucks I drove, I callled them some names but never named them My vote for Color is Black with pin stripes Keep up the great content!!
Condolences to you and your family over the loss of Pa. Your Eddie Bauer sweater looked grey and kinda yellow. Your ball cap was black and yellow. Sooo…..👍
Sorry for ur family's loss my wifey to be just lost her grandmother 102yrs old very nice lady Sharpe as a tack n yes two tone her big girl that's ur thing so u gotta keep it going n hey I've got twins two one of each mine R 28 now
Paint it black with some big ole John Deere stickers on it.. big fan of lights and reflectors. Mustard yellow isn't exactly my thing. But if it's yours go for it!!
Thoughts and Prayers for all of your family. The tribute you put together was very nice for Kara’s Pa. Just finished watching so I will do more thinking on the color scheme. Great work on all of your vehicles. Take care.
Nice video I’m done a few of the old trucks myself I’ve got a 1970 GMC 33,000 airbrake truck Rebuild it yes it a lot of work I know it has to be done again great job keep up the good work God bless
Two tone looks best on square body trucks imo. Solid black , all the chrome and cut the muffler off and drop it off at the scrap yard.. RIP PA FRITZ. May the Good Lord welcome you HOME!
Funny you mention that about the muffler. The muffler fell off on the way home from picking this up and the thing ran great. I put a different muffler back on it and I've always thought it wasn't nearly as good but I thought it was just because it wasn't loud. I'm tempted to take it off now.
Id bet that big garbage can muffler robs power. Google BHAF. It's a airfilter for big diesels. Very common modification. Straight pipe and a BHAF and do a video of the difference! Not only a power gain, but mpg should increase.
Neil another 5 ⭐ video looking forward to seeing the restoration of the 750 , as far as colors I would go with the original black and add a yellow gold metallic 🤔🤠 anywhoo God bless y'all from Gaffney South Carolina viewer 🙏❤️💯
Great to see the photo tribute to the “ole gent” “Pa Fritz…, thoughts and prayers for you and yours…. Re: the truck stuff, you are a wise man by now, having done a paint job in your younger years, allows you to make the good decision to let the pro’s do the work…. If you tried it again, and it don’t fulfill you expectations, you would just get upset every time you went out to get in it… Looking forward to the projects progression.
Neal, I would paint it all black and send it out to get a cool logo wrap put on. You could probably could just get the bed and frame blasted then painted. All the new metal areas primed and a quick coat of paint. Then a full wrap if that would be cheaper than a full paint job.
Mickey Mouse is a thing with us too, something that's been thrown together quickly or slapdash. Bumblebee paint looks fine, same yellow as the backhoe. RIP Grandpa Fritz, sorry for your loss.
No kidding!?! I actually didn't choose them but their website was really good for illustration purposes to show what I was referencing in the video. I didn't even realize you could tell who it was from that clip (but maybe cause you recognized the truck?) :) They look like they do beautiful work though for sure. I have a guy lined up in Avilla, IN that's going to do mine.
1. Sorry for your loss, I just lost my Dad this year. Prayers for your family. 2. On a previous video you asked what brought the viewers to your channel. I couldn't remember at the time but it was this dump truck. I remember what you said you gave for it and I was like, no way you got that beautiful truck for that. I have since found similar trucks in that price range with some issues like what you have. Not buying one though because I have since retired and don't want to work much. 3. My first comment to you was about you sounding like Kevin Costner. I think you still do. Record yourself reading a line from any of his movies and compare them side by side.
Ha! I think I remember that comment. Yeah, that price was a real bargain in this market, but it still has it's issues that need addressed. I guess you pay for it one way or another but I'm thankful that I got an affordable start. I hear that about sounding like Costner quite often. I don't hear it myself but maybe I should record something that he's recorded. Can't be all bad I suppose. Thank you for the well wishes. My wife will see all the comments and appreciates it. :)
Srry for ur loss Neil. Far as the truck project I’m def looking forward to it. I think the yellow black looks great and think if u paint the truck yellow with mayb the bottom of the fenders black with black bed with the yellow stained wood sides would b sharp but at end of day it’s urs so u do u an god bless
I like the two tone. Another thing that would be nice is black and yellow rear wheel fenders that bolt onto the frame. And it should be named 2 scoops lol. Good luck with the project!
So sorry for your loss it is never easy to lose someone one who means so much to you and is a big part of your life and I like the way ya did the bumblebee lol I think ya should do something like that again not the same way but with the same idea if that is you then do what make you good with things again so sorry for your loss he will always be with ya in some way god bless ya
Keep the cab black but with the bed put yellow between the pillars and keep the rest black and paint the side boards yellow as well but up to you on that stuff
Sorry to hear about your loss. Your dump trucks are what brought me to your channel as several others have mentioned as well. I love the solid black myself but then it's not sitting in my driveway so there's only three girls you have to worry about making happy. I figure you better get their vote.
Thanks a lot. I'm glad to hear from the folks that said, the dump truck brought them to my channel cuz I didn't think that this video would get much of a following! That is so cool. Thanks for the color suggestions and I appreciate you watching.
I think all black on those trucks looks good. But, If you’re going for unique, and probably won’t listen to anyone like you say (I do the same thing! 😋) do whatever is going to make you happy in the end. Cause you’re the one who pays for it! Take care
Great job again Neil! I think the truck would look best all black and some yellow accents here and there. As far as a name idk, I've never been good with sort of thing. I'm sure someone will chime in with something perfect!
Seeing all your equipment really makes me miss my 1 ton dump truck. I hope to one day have a larger single axle. So sorry for your families loss, prayers to you all.
Sorry to hear about Fritz. Y’all are in our prayers. As for the dump truck, I would paint it to match the 350. And maybe pinstripe it in yellow. Or maybe just add your logo to the doors in yellow I think that would look great.
Neil, Given that you are in the soil science business and fertilizer is off the charts, would you mind putting a video together sharing your experience in getting the most accurate soil samples possible to help control fertilizer input cost. Thank you in advance. Respectfully, James
That's not a bad idea James. The most accurate analysis though comes over time through repetitive testing that gives you a trend curve over time. Then you can make better decisions on how to pull back on your rates because you know how your fertility levels move over time. For a first time sample, it is best to take a lot of samples over a small area to represent the area as best you can. Each soil type of yield environment gets its own sample with a random collection of soil cores from within that area. It would be a good topic given the current economic climate. Thanks James.
Sorry to hear about the loss of Kara's grandfather. Prayers to her and all her family.
In memory of Pa, paint the truck that includes one of his favorite colors.
Neal, I have Pa Fritz in my prayers! Losing him was a true loss for your family. Thanks for honoring him on your site.
Appreciate it Walter.
"Fritz" reminds me so much of my Dad, sorry to hear about your family's loss. Possible name "Wheels"
My condolences to you and your family in your loss. Running without a tarp when loaded in my state will get you a big fine from the full grown bears ( State Troopers) . Never commented on anything Neil but I enjoy your stuff the most. That last bit for "Pa" is top shelf. God bless!
Well I am humbled that you took the time to say hi and leave a nice message. Thank you so much for that and thanks for watching our little videos.
Nice pun Neil. Despite having a lot of small Tonkas and other dump trucks in my elementary school years, it hasn't come to be of need yet. I like that Frankie idea maybe. Not bad. Thanks for the input sir.

All black! Your old solid black dump truck looked great. I vote all black and chrome.
Yeah, hard to go wrong with that too.
Sad for your loss. Prayers of peace and calm for your family.
You need to put that yellow on there like your first one , full circle man . Great videos .
Glad to hear your uncle had good luck with these trucks. I can't wait to get it done. Thanks for the feedback on the paint job. I like your way of thinking!
So sorry for your family's loss, Neil.
👍🏼👍🏼 black w accents.. but don’t matter it’s your truck. Look forward to seeing progress. Condolences for your family for Grandpa. Look forward to new videos
Already looking forward to this one. I would go with full black but with large DDD decals for personality - ignore at will! 🏴
I like it.
Black with custom yellow accents gets my vote. Looking forward to watching the transformation.
So sorry for your families loss. On the truck, you should replicate the F350 and call it The Bee750
Neal, all black! That F350 looked awesome. The F 750 looks great as a solid color.. I don’t think you will regret all black.
I agree.
Sorry for your loss, may God bless his soul. As for the painting job I noticed that you a big fan of John Deere tractors so maybe the green and yellow will be an inspiration for coming project.
Thanks! I've been thinking of doing something John Deere inspired.
So Sorry for your Loss. He looked like a very amazing man and your daughters will have lovely memories. God bless you all in your sorrow.
Thank you very much John.
Thanks for the video. So sorry to hear about the loss of Kara's grandfather. I pray your family senses the Lord's comfort during this time.
All black! Yellow logo magnet. Less is more.
May he rest in peace.
Im so sorry for your loss Neil
Solid black with yellow flames… call it the Flamethrower!
Hey, there ya go!
The black and yellow would look good on that truck in my opinion. Sorry for your guys loss.
Thanks Joshua.
Black with an off-center yellow racing stripe 👍
sorry for your loss. Prayers sent your way
Praying for you all.
I also just bought a 84 f600 single axle dump. Pretty roughy, but now I know where it can take me.
Thanks Marcus. That F600 can be all you want it to be and grow into something more for sure! Good luck with it!
Pass on our deepest condolences to the entire family in the loss of “Pa” from your YT family.
All black with yellow accents. Blessings.
Thank you KOL I will pass it along.
Dump trucks do not get anywhere near as much recognition as they should. They are just as crucial as all the other pieces of equipment but for some reason they are less talked about. I really enjoyed this video and my favorite truck I think of all was the one with the yellow stripe on it.

That's right! Thanks Russell.
So sorry about your family’s loss Neil! Take care my friend
Thank you Mike.
My condolences Neil to you and Kara.
I like the bumble bee theme, if you haven't done it already. Bumble bee is a good name for it, I think. But I'm a 71 year old truck driver, and you know how us old goats are. Nice truck. Have fun.
Hi Neil, my suggestion, yellow side boards then pinstripe the cab. Less is more classy!
I like it!
I'm a graduate of UGA. Paint it Red and Black. Call it Dawg Dump. Sorry for your loss.
Can't wait to see it completed. Condolences to your family on your loss.
Great story. You obviously took video & documented before TH-cam. That helps build your story and makes it pretty cool. I am sure whatever you do, it will look awesome!! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you much Jeff. I've been filming stuff my whole life for some reason!
you always had your own theme and should keep it that way, truck name diy bumblebee lol
Kara, Neil and family
Sorry for your loss.
Those are some great pics of him, especially ones w/ your two little girls.
Anyway just wanted to reach out on that
Have a great weekend.
Thank you.
Fantastic job editing and putting together this video. I am very sorry to hear of your loss. Your family has my condolences.
Really enjoy your vids and condolences for your families loss.
Hey Neil, nice find on the dump truck. I think the black looks good but it needs the yellow Van Halen lightning bolt on the side.
Hmmm. Not a bad idea!

Definitely all black and chrome! This gonna be fun to watch! Name? How about “The Dirt Hearse”? Keep up the good work.
My condolences to you and your family on your loss.
Thank you Scott!
Our condolences to your family Neil. Another excellent video and a fun project ahead. As for the color scheme, maybe yellow cab and black box 🤷🏼♂️👍🏻. Have a great week 🙂🙋🏼♂️👍🏻
God Bless your family.
Neil, Sorry for your loss may you and your family take comfort in being part of a life well lived,As for the name of your truck, in all my years of driving I never named the Trucks I drove, I callled them some names but never named them My vote for Color is Black with pin stripes Keep up the great content!!

Sorry for your family's loss Neil. My son suggested Big Bessie as a name. Lol. Have fun ddiy'ing this one.
Big Bessie 😋 Love it 👍🏻
Wow…. Cool
Love your 750…

Thoughts and Prayers for all of your family. The tribute you put together was very nice for Kara’s Pa.
Just finished watching so I will do more thinking on the color scheme. Great work on all of your vehicles. Take care.
Thanks a lot Bob.

Thanks Daniel! I like those color choices. I can't wait to get this thing painted up. It's been a long time coming!
Looking to acquire something like this. So helpful to see the reality! Appreciate it.

Bumblebee paint looks fine, same yellow as the backhoe. RIP Grandpa Fritz, sorry for your loss.
I'm definitely thinking same color as a backhoe. That's exactly where my mind is. Thanks for the feedback.
Love the content, channel and you sir! You are the best storyteller always happy to be along for the journey
Sorry for your loss, black w racing stripes Arrow for a name.
I wish I had the abilities to take on a project like this, but I'll look forward to watching you do it. My condolences to your family! 🙏😇👨🚒
solid black, brother, greetings from Alaska, always love to watch your content and ideas
Thanks a lot Nick! Really like hearing from Alaska!
The shop you chose is the best in the area! The blue and orange semi on there website belongs to a freind of mine they did a great job on it!
I like two scoops.
Thank you Gary.
Keep the cab black but with the bed put yellow between the pillars and keep the rest black and paint the side boards yellow as well but up to you on that stuff
All black that 97 you had was sweet
Tail gate going to be huge!!! My buddy bought a single axle and that was the 1st upgrade he did, makes a huge difference when working the truck.
Agreed.
Sorry to hear about Fritz. Y’all are in our prayers. As for the dump truck, I would paint it to match the 350. And maybe pinstripe it in yellow. Or maybe just add your logo to the doors in yellow I think that would look great.
Paint the cab and body black. Then paint the frame and side boards yellow. Should stand out nice
Neil, Given that you are in the soil science business and fertilizer is off the charts, would you mind putting a video together sharing your experience in getting the most accurate soil samples possible to help control fertilizer input cost. Thank you in advance.
Respectfully,
James
That's not a bad idea James. The most accurate analysis though comes over time through repetitive testing that gives you a trend curve over time. Then you can make better decisions on how to pull back on your rates because you know how your fertility levels move over time. For a first time sample, it is best to take a lot of samples over a small area to represent the area as best you can. Each soil type of yield environment gets its own sample with a random collection of soil cores from within that area. It would be a good topic given the current economic climate. Thanks James.
The ballad of the F750 continues 🥹
Name your truck "Gumbo", paint it Purple and Gold, Geaux Neil!
Best of luck on your project i’ve been looking around for International 1850 with a DT466 and seven speed Spicer maybe like a 78
