This video is very inspiring to me. I was doing whip-only runs in hard mode since after many playthroughs the ordinary game does not offer much challenge anymore. But as time would progress, I started adding a few crosses here and there just so I could kill a few more enemies faster. This got me interested in speedrunning this game, and this video shows several clever cross setups for every section of the game.
You should try one of the super hardmode hacks that some have put together. You can find videos on YT of people trying them out. You sound like the type of guy who could use the challenge!
1. This player is smooth like silk. 2. I loved the sweet spot to avoid the Medusas. 3. The lost frames of poor old SNES actually look like a well paid slow motion -nowdays- filter! Especially when climbing that clock tower. 4. Dracula was like "wtf did just happ-" 😂 5. Wow.
Just when I thought that I had played this game to death, I discover Hard Mode, haha. The whole game just got even more replay value than it already had.
@@TheD0GGPOUND I think that all Castlevania games do that; I once played "Castlevania" on the NES until the Stage counter reached 99 (which was about 6 playthroughs), and the second loop was definitely more difficult, with more damage from enemies, tougher enemies, much more bats, and so on.

This just blew my mind. The ducking in the middle of the platform and not getting hit by a single medusa head would of been really nice to know lol

That was dope. I didn't know that the game had a secret hard mode by inputting a password
The game rewinds to hardmode if you wait for ending credits to roll after beating normal mode as well. Score and current lives carryover.
