I know the feeling Mike when it comes to using Mercedes Road Side Assistance. I used them 2 years ago on another benz of mine and it took 9 HOURS for me to get my car to the dealership! 9 HORRIBLE HOURS! Mercedes headquarters needs to fix their RSA program URGENTLY! When they sent me a review email... I ripped into them. Of course, they are concerned with their service reputation and so they contacted me, I laid it all out and on the line of what happened and that it took 9 HOURS to get things done. When I could have just called a tow truck myself and got the problem resolved in like 2 hours!
I only use AAA or my insurance towing. AAA covers you when you're in any car, and if you platinum 200 mile tow, plus gives you many other benefits. I believe MBrace only tows to nearest Benz. My Infiniti dealer in suburban Chicago encouraged owners to get free car washes, breakfast, ice cream, cooked food right in front. MBZ dealer in North Olmstead didn't even have shuttle service, even though they eventually found someone to drive me 2 miles to a hotel. MBZ are great selling you a car, however their service centers lack in my opinion.

Also, the engine may eat oil when it's sitting on idle and the turbo doesn't provide boost. The boost is needed to seal the bearing on the turbo, since it's not a classical bearing, but just a tiny gap through which oil goes and lets the turbo shaft "float" on the oil. It may not be an issue on some constructions, but turbocharged engines tend to eat oil because of that rather than, of course, N/A engines.
No run flats? My CLA has run flats, but I still called for a tow (was raining, the nail in it was scraping on the asphalt badly). Thankfully, didn't have a slew of weird phone calls with MBrace, they sent a correct tow right away.

Is Merc Roadside Assistance an included feature or a paid extra? Seems a veey long winded process just for a tyre change. On our Volvo V60 I also doesn't have a spare, but in the UK we rang the AA, they fitted a universal donut wheel and we thrm drove to a tyre shop and the AA followed and swapped the wheels back. Great service.
You're probably right. When he hit a pot hole and bent a rim, he took it and had it repaired. Then he bought a replacement rim because he didn't want to drive on a repaired one. (I can sort of understand that though because he does take the car to the track on occasion.)

And one suggestion for you, most auto shops sell a instant tire inflator in a can type of thing which can be super useful. I don't have a spare in my car either and those cans have come in handy quite a few times..basically what it does is inflate your tire and seal the hole then the idea is you drive it to go get it plugged.

I was informed by a VA tow truck driver that both Virginia and Pennsylvania offer a complimentary Interstate tow service that you can get in touch with by calling 711. He told me this as I was waiting for AAA to send a tow truck out to me in the Arlington area over Memorial Day weekend. Apparently, the State subsidizes the service in order to get broken down cars off of the road more quickly.

Here in Germany it´s the law to wait behind the safety rail, wearing a security vest. But here you will get help within a much shorter time - especially when calling the mercedes service number.

Didn’t Watch the whole video but you need run flats or whatever they’re called. My 2018 E400 4MATIC Coupe came with them and I’ve already gotten A ball of air in my tire and drove it for two more days before getting it repaired. Repair was free by the way because of the package I purchased when I bought the car. $3500 wheel protection.

Don't worry Mike, you are not the only one with that problem. A friend of mine had a similar issue and the Mercedes Assistance told him that to leave the car in the middle of the road, go to the dealership to take another car and somebody else will pick up his broken Merc... they literally told him to abandon his car (with highly chances of been stolen) and they will take care of his car on the next two days. After that he immediately sold the car and got a new one (of course a different brand). They are crazy man hahaha.
I was driving with a nail in the tire for weeks until i noticed it. The tire lost a bit of pressure every two weeks and i thought it was the valve, since i had that on another wheel once. Then in one week, the pressure got lost not between weeks, but two days, i guess the nail wasn't sealing anymore. I thought, now it's time to have the valve replaced, wrong guess... the mechanic yelled "you got a nail in the thread". The nail head was already ground away, lol. They could plug it and it was a deal of 30 minutes and 20 Euros.

Actually, its safer to stay in the car WITH your seatbelt on. The cars are designed to handle accidents, unlike our soft bodies.

Low profile tyres are excellent on a track but in the real world just too much hassle. Minor imperfections can cause serious problems for such low profile tyres as the sidewalls are unable to flex and absorb shocks meaning that they are more inclined to burst or leak air from broken seals.
