In 2020, Makabu won title Cruiser WBC with Cieslak, who was perfidiously cheated in this fight. Cieslak team was intimidated from beginning arriving to Kongo. If the fight had taken place then in Poland, Makabu would have been knocked out propably faster than with Badou Jack.
Makabu later defended the title against Duradola and fought and tired with him for 7 rounds, when a bit earlier Cieslak knocked out Durodola in the 2nd round.
In the end, he got a normal opponent, Badou Jack, and the fight was not in Kongo and immediately was to see, that he didn't deserve the title.
Two months after this fight, Makabu fought with Mikaeljan and was knocked out in the 3th round...
I'm waiting for real fight Cieslak - Badoo Jack. I hope that the fight will be this time fair and will win better puncher.

Always rated Badou Jack and this was a great performance but his management need to protect him from some of the "boiled down HW" monsters in the Cruiserweight division. An ageing blown up SM has no business sharing a ring with someone of the size and freshness of a Richard Riakporhe. Even the human limpet Lawrence Okole would be far too big for him.

@@BoxWorldTV Clearly. Jack is a jacked up SM and the really big men of the CW division are boiled down HWs. Riakporhe is a 6'5" brick shithouse and Okole is even bigger.
Probably not coincidental that Jack was pushed the way of Makabu
