It was not a matter of if but when these reforms were to be actually carried out. There is a lot more to be done to make agriculture sector a profitable enterprise and these reforms were just the first step, among many steps that have either already been taken or are in the pipeline, towards that goal.
I agree that the media did not do a great job, if any , at explaining the true import of these reforms to the masses.
I never listen to PM's sudden nation addresses, but something about this one pulled me in and I ended up watching it and shouted with joy when I heard him speak about rolling back the farm laws! it was a pleasurable experience...finally, after digitization, this govt took one logical step amongst its sea of blunders..
