- This is a mashup of two versions of this song. The version on “Still” which is only the middle and end of the song. And a bootleg which is used for the beginning of the song. I combined these recordings to get a full version of this song. I hope you enjoy
I was 21 when my mate said do I won't to see a band he liked ok so I went and this band came on and blew me away I was transfixed on Curtis and from then on I bought every record they got out tiny little hall sound bouncing of the walls about 300 people standing there just like me gob smacked never forget it then the dream was over in a couple of weeks with is death what a loss r.i.p Ian
Great transition! As I am happy there was a full recording of the song on bootleg, I just wish it was more clear and Ian's mic actually worked in the first half. Anyway, great job.
Thanks!
thx a lot ma good sir. hav nice day!
Wooo gracias gracias gracias!!!!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤
Just days later not even a month Ian hung himself from the adjustable clothing “drying rack” in his kitchen.
He would have been a billionaire today.
@@uncleeric3317 his disease would have killed him aniway....
don,t remember me on those things,he is still alive
thanx for your like.it,s the best great music there is,i don,t unders6and people that listen to ...in dutch hersenloze muziek.the society is killing me....bij the fantastic uk band the last resort.you englisch people ilove you xxxx
I wish I could’ve seen them live. This probably doesn’t compare
This is just the exact recording on the compilation album "Still" that was released in the early 80s (and still available AFAIK). "Still" also contains superior live versions of New Dawn Fades and Means To An End, among others
No it’s not. The version on “Still” is just the soundboard portion of the latter portion of the song. This has the audience recording of the first part of the song that is missing from the soundboard recording.
Still was recently remastered, they cleaned up Ceremony, it sounds incredible.
Всем привет из России Москва 🇷🇺 и тем кто смотрит это😢

I've only saw New Order. Joy Division were never in Sweden.

High hall Birmingham which is now Birmingham university
what the hell is it worth
Think #fagerone can improve this
Yea they definitely could but they don’t post anymore, shame
I saw JD twice, this is a terrible recording.
People #swear Bernards' vocals are so bad. But #really...Ian couldn't carry a note for SHIT. This is a perfect example.
Now...Ian's LYRICS.....different story, as the song says. WAAAAY ahead of his time, and coming from a place of True Pain.
Yea, Ian is nowhere near one of the best singers of all time. It can sound off key a lot of the times. But what makes his singing so great for me is the clear passion put into it. I don’t know, all the members were very clearly not professional musicians lol but damn were they great
Agreed. In my younger years I used to be a snob when it came to the proper mechanics of music. But today I realize the crucial importance of the authenticity of the artist, which finds me forgiving any lack of actual talent. Ergo my love of JD/NO. @@WhisperinWinds67
@@WhisperinWinds67I kind of don’t know, what a good singer is. OK, if you want to hit a certain note and don’t, that’s a technical flaw. I don’t want to underestimate technical abilities when it comes to music and art in general. But I would give a bazillion technical brilliant vocalists in exchange for one Ian Curtis any day. The gift he had is more important to humanity than any technical ability. Even more so, because Joy Division took themselves 100% serious, they didn’t flirt with their inabilities as many punk bands did.
He was not a great singer or even a good one and yet his vocals fit the lyrics and moods of many of the songs very well and can send shivers down your spine. For me, the high point of this was the live tv performance of Transmission. I'm sure from a technical standpoint, it wasn't "good", but I consider it a great vocal and no one could have done the climactic "beat of the show" line any better. I'd also guess that an Ian Curtis in good physical and mental health and working with a vocal coach for a bit would have made at least an entirely solid or even good pop/rock singer. He didn't have a thin voice like Sumner's.
i mean...this is music that take you by the strot ,it means bij the throwd
