Someone commented “if Batman doesn’t come out and sing I am blue” I’m out 😂
You are an absolute gem 💎. I need this to happen now lol
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Or Paint it Black😂
Prepare for several million couple cosplays next Halloween.
Joker and Harley doing violent things to music like old Looney Toons characters
I’m thinking that the musical portion of this is just going to be Joker and Harley both sharing the same world if that makes any sense. The first movie the thing that stood out about Joker himself was he was crazy and he couldn’t relate to anyone nor could anyone relate to him, but with Harley somehow they both occupy the same crazy space and together are in harmony both figuratively and literally.
That's actually what Folie A Deux ("Madness of Two") means. It's when two people share the same hallucination. So you're on the money in regards to most probably of how the musical portion of the film is going to be utilized.
That's literally what Korey and billle said. Why did you repeat it?
"My life used to be a tragedy. Now it's a romance." -Joker
A BAD Romance
@@FeelinErieaaahhhhh you did it
You literally copied and pasted the top comment from other Joker 2 videos 😂
@@Hugh_Jannis I did. And I'm tired of pretending I didn't.
@@Danjoker.Well, you got me there
I’m glad DC is taking risks and trying something different Marvel will never try something like this
Like multi verses I out
Kang the musical with a hip hop motif
Doctor Strange 2 had a musical fight, The Marvels had a musical planet. Disney produces Highschool Musical, the series...the musical..
Guardians of the Galaxy was filled with music and had a literal Christmas Special; I'm surprised Marvel hasn't done a musical yet
werewolf by night wasn't bad... with deadpool, daredevil, blade, and punisher, hopefully those will open new opportunities to take more risks
That's why DC trash now
I'd like to thank Fall Out Boy for teaching me how to pronounce Folie À Deux lol
Disloyal Order of Water Buffaloes is the best FOB song!
Damn right!
Great album.
✊🏾
🤣 facts!
This gives me vibes of if A Clockwork Orange was a musical
I would never have thought of Gaga as Harley but it totally would make sense and she has the look. I liked her in her other acting roles so I think she will body this.
A lot of people don’t know she’s a classically trained actress as well.
The cool part of the first movie is that we don't really know how much of the movie is "real" and how much is in Arthur's head. It looks like they're building on that same theme, where the whole thing could be in the head of Lady Gaga's character, or it could all be in the "real world".
When they were filming in Newark for the first one, I followed the trailers and saw someone walking with his suit to Joaquins trailer. I waved and he waved and shut his window 😂
My gritty brick city 😊
Shoutout to jersey
This channel brings me joy. Thanks fellas👍🏽👍🏽
Love the 1st joker movie. Perfect movie and great performance by Phoenix
I'm pumped for the movie. Lady Gaga looks GREAT!
You mean Mister Gaga
@kinglord7707 No. You can’t believe everything that your boyfriend tells you.
I think we can safely say that the plot of this movie revolves around a Bad Romance.
What if Harley isn’t actually a patient at Arkham. Maybe she’s a regular psychologist who decides to embed herself amongst the populace there, to build a rapport with the inmates & better understand their motivations, as they think she is one of them. Then, after she meets Joker, she eventually falls in love and starts to go crazy as well, as maybe part of her was never understood by anyone except him, and she gravitates toward him because of that.
The musical aspect will probably be three or four dream sequences. Like how it would cut to Arthur’s imagination in the first one.
Its gonna be cringe if all the jukebox songs are Lady Gaga songs
@@MrConredsXthey’re clearly not
Confirmed 15 songs
Todd Philips doing something new, I’m intrigued. I mean his first Joker revived a forty year old genre, so his new vision and his direction for it deserve at least consideration.
That’s kinda like what George Lucas did for Star Wars, reviving a then 40 year-old genre (Flash Gordon serials) and took inspiration from Kurosawa, who was still alive and making movies at the time, much like the Todd Phillips/Scorsese inspiration. Here’s to hoping Phillips can make his Empire Strikes Back. By the look of this trailer, he’s certainly headed in that direction, higher stakes, new characters, possibly even darker than the first.
J-J-J-Joker face J-J-Joker face.
... mah-mah-mah-mahhhh...
Why so serious...ALEJANDRO!!!
Man I guess Harley and Arthur on the edge of glory
Genius
Stuttering?
My take is the reason why it’s a musical is because everything singing related my be going on in his head. Also interesting that Harley in this universe is a patient rather than a psychologist.
She's a psychiatrist who uses music therapy to help inmates and she sometimes dresses as a patient to get closer to them.
Thats the thing, we dont know cus at the end of the trailer she's on the other side of the glass. So at this point its all up to interpretation
I'm reminded of the weird musical episode from Batman The Brave and the Bold.
You just unlocked a memory
Lady Gaga looks like she is going to make this role her b*tch she couldn’t be more perfect for this. And I can’t wait to see it.
Especially after seeing all of the artistic flair in the trailer. It truly looks beautiful.
Why wouldn't a musical a Joker movie work? I can't wait.
Jokers never really been known for even caring about music from what I remember, so this just seems very out of left field, as if they’re just being artsy fartsy with it. I’m cautiously optimistic though.
@@williamhardee8863 what has the Joker ever been known to care for other than making Batman laugh?
@@fdub301 You realize you’re helping my point more than anything right? Where in wanting to make Batman laugh involves a passion for singing? Also he’s been in stories for decades and done a lot so there’s a lot of things he’s known for. You just gave the guy who’s only seen one or two Batman movies, and a few references his whole life’s perspective.
Musicals don't work period unless it's on a stage. Glee was the rare exception. But it's a hard sell getting someone to watch a musical on the small screen or big screen. Not impossible but really difficult.
@@williamhardee8863 These movies are out of left field, they aren't following the comics.
Ironic that Martin hates Joker with that Joker laugh of his 😂
Is it me or does the beginning of the music sound like it's from Willy Wonka "come with me and you'll be in a world of pure imagination".....🤔🤔🤔
It's you. All I heard was, what the world, needs now...
it wasn’t just you! i definitely heard Timothee Chalamet when i heard those piano notes 😂
Normally the Joker being a musician doesn't make sense. However, from a film perspective, musicals usually do a weird thing where people burst into song and the world around them reacts to that song like it's completely normal. Having the Joker have the world dance around him is a fantastic way to show his mental state collapsing because we recognise it as a musical, but in reality it's just his mental state falling apart further!! I think this is actually genius!!
I wonder if Billy is going to laugh like the Joker during this trailer reaction
Martin not realizing Arthur was an unreliable narrator in the first movie has oddly made their "Joker" review one of my favorites to revisit. For as much as Martin (regardless of whether you agree with his takes or not) gives well thought and explained takes, it was somewhat of a marvel to see him kinda stumped during that spoiler review lol.
It’s bad storytelling in that way, you’re so invested in what happened and suddenly we’re told none of it happened
@@ninjanibba4259 Not really, considering him being an unreliable narrator was the general idea of the movie, and how certain things play out are supposed to be left up to your own interpretation. In the comics, the Joker does famously say "If I were to have a past, I prefer it be multiple choice." The movie swings with that idea in mind completely.
@@thedefinitionisthis except what we got wasn’t Joker at all, he’s a wimp with no respect, so if this is what one of his “backstories” is, then it diminishes him as a whole
The real Joker would kill this one in 1,000 different ways and laugh at how puny he is
@@ninjanibba4259IKR? I’m supposed to believe this joker can match wits with Batman?
@@ninjanibba4259Meh. Not really. That’s the beauty of multiple choice… there’s multiple. And besides, whether or not he faces off with Batman is immaterial. These movies are just about how this dude sees the world around him. If you think this version’s a wimp, then to each their own. But even comics and other versions of the Joker have shown different sides to him; even his “wimpy” side. I mean, the animated series version is arguably one of the most decorated versions of the character ever, and yet you have an episode where you find out he was a failed comedian and who just wants a best comic trophy. “The Killing Joke” has him as a loser who quit his job to try comedy, and failed miserably, and ends up going nuts after he’s coerced into going along with a crime after his wife dies… Where in those stories make him any more menacing than this on-screen version? And no, even that origin in “Killing joke” suggests he’d eventually be Batman’s archnemesis. And to your original criticism, none of this has anything g to do with Bad storytelling; you just seem to think that this version can’t match wits with Batman, which in of itself is kinda ridiculous considering even his comics and other cartoon origin stories, they don’t suggest that either.
"Joker was pretentious". Joker 2, "Hold my croissant"
How much of this movie will be based in his head, how much of this movie will be based in her head, and how much of this movie will be based in both of their heads, and FINALLY how much of this movie will be real...... I can't wait to watch this Musical Masterpiece....wait it's a musical??
6:59 Dam that's a serious joker laugh
My theory is, Joker falling for Harvey is in his head during a therapy session. I found it odd that she's an inmate to Arkham already. Unless, with the direction of the first one, was influenced from the Jokers' antics in Gotham.
Harley has been known to spontaneously break into a musical number in order to distract a target, so it’s not a stretch to assume that at least one song will be performed diegetically.
So curious as to how the production budget alone went from $60-70m on the first movie to $200m for this sequel?!
Money laundering
They tend to lie about the budget. The first movie didn't look more than a 5-10 million dollar production. Nothing was expensive about it. The second looks like the budget they told people the first one had.
I think they went with a jukebox musical cause the movie is told from Harley’s perspective. In her head, everything is a musical. This version of Harleen Quinzel seems to be a woman that thinks of herself as a musician like Joker saw himself as a comedian.
Natural Born Killers basically then.
Pretty much.
La La Land at Arkham
@@medinmon5150you mean Ha Ha Land?
i’m all for this dark musical idea. coming from a huge fan of the first joker, it looks awesome and can’t wait to see it
As a person who has attended the laugh academy, boys and girls are allowed to mingle. But i wasn't in a maximum security anything like I would imagine Arkham would be.
Fantastic trailer imo. I have faith that Joaquin Phoenix wouldn’t have come back if the script wasn’t on point.
I'm predicting that Harley's still a psychiatrist, but that her psychosis came on from a different source and she ended up being a patient. I'd like that more than the traditional idea of Joker manipulating her, as I think it would give her character more agency. Plus this Joker's not really manipulative in the way that more traditional Jokers are, so I think it would make more sense here too.
The twist: Harley ain’t real she is a figment of his imagination
Tbh I wanna see it more now
Can't wait to see Ha Ha Land!
It's interesting that you're sick of a trope that isn't a trope.
In all honesty there was a lot of dark magic not knowing The Jokers past, leaving it as a mystery. Now The Joker looks all stylistically Hollywood all this dancing and parading around like it’s a musical smh. 😂
Billy’s right about everyone getting paid for this because the budget is 200 million.
I think it’s all in their head. I think our confirmation of this is the shot of the umbrellas becoming colorful
I can't wait for this movie! You can't believe anything you see in the trailer cause it showed at the end of the 1st movie that most of what you saw from his perspective wasn't real. That's what it made it so good. So having this as a musical is probably all in his head and probably Harley's once she goes crazy. I think he was in Arkham Asylum the whole time in the first movie and was telling the story of how he got there from his twisted perspective, so this new movie will be insane.
I want to admit I was wrong not giving it a chance but this trailer sold me
Yeah I agree something about it just draws you in and I have a feeling this one is going to actually be better than the first movie.
The glass lipstick ending shot was pure perfection.
If Martin doesn't like it then it will probably be a good movie.
This movie looks Phenomenal. This is how you keep the Genre FRESH!!! BREATHTAKING 🔥🔥🔥🔥
If Todd Phillips is to be taken for his word, he said yesterday that "musical", much less "jukebox musical" is nothing that was ever discussed concerning the vision of this film. He did remind people that he always said Joker "had music in him" and that music as with the first movie was important to this one. Can't wait, looks fantastic.
Foo-Lee ah Dur @pronounciation.
Trailer looked cool. I'll def see it when it drops. Probably on streaming as lazy as I am smh.
Waiting for the regular haters to start videos complaining they made Harley a patient instead of a psychologist treating joker. lol. Some people just ignorant.
I loved the first one and thought it didn’t need a sequel but if they want to do something unique and honestly I feel like the musical elements to highlight the delusions could be fun. Based on the trailer looks like a lot of hard work was put into it.
Same day five years later. SYMMETRY! Haha.
Always wanted to see Joker's romantic love story from the Dark Knight where he spoke about his wife, but this will do it then since the Dark Knight version won't ever happen. Nothing beats a dramatic love story while the raindrops sings along the poems of a ruined yesterday.
*People forgot Joker* sings in the Animated Series and in Arkham Knight and City.. but a musical is “too much” ?
You can't compare a few musicals here and there in a movie or series that barely make a significant portion of the movie to a full-blown musical
@udbz7264 Clearly music is ingrained in the character it isn’t far fetched to take it a step further
@@udbz7264it doesn’t even seem to be a full blown musical tho
I think she's in control of the whole situation.. she's not a prisoner in any of the shots. And some of the things she says... she's manipulating him😮
This film I feel has the potential to go either way for me. This could either be a total disaster that crashes and burns, or blows my expectations out of the water and becomes an instant classic.
Most of the shots and scene composition looks and feels like more of the same just with Harley added to the mix. But that last shot really won me over, showing that the craftsmanship is still top tier.
I'm at least curious.
Given his Joker track record, you got some nerve involving Martin in a Joker 2 discussion. Have some eFing respect!
So it's One Flew Over the Cocoos Nest meet La La Land? Please take all of my money.
From the trailer, at best I’m intrigued, especially with how they handled the jukebox musical and Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn, but I can also see it going wrong to where it keeps me from being hyped, and also wasn’t crazy about the first like others were. I’m like Billy where I was mixed on it, but we’ll see.
Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga are really good actors, so I feel like if anything, we’ll at least get some really good performances out of them
It’s a perfect trailer especially with the last image 😄💥🤟🏻🤡🃏
The reality is that it seems like they trying to prove ......that as long as you put comic book on something.....the neckbeards will watch and love it.
Last time Taxi Driver
This time LaLa Land
Lol
It's good to see Billy on this one
I saw ya'll review of 'EXIT WOUNDS'. Then did a count on actor appearances. You said 2 for Bill Dukes (Exit Wounds & Get Rich). What about 'Predator'.
I had a rotation of nursing school at a psych jail. Male and women were on the same floor.
i used to think my life was a tragedy. now i realize it's a romantic musical comedy
Enjoyed your review. I am nervous and didn't want this sequel. Although I am warming up to it, I am still managing expectations.
I’m assuming it’s in their heads based on the Hotel Arkham sign seen in one of the frames of the trailer.
It's not Harley Quinn unless she have two twin tails and is just as funny as Joker himself.
I think most people are off put by Lady Gaga because the character she's created to be her musician persona is batshit crazy and a female version of Marilyn Manson.
However, most people don't realize that that's a character and she's actually a very talented actress and honestly attractive woman.
She just hides behind the Lady Gaga character so well that people think that's really her, and it's why they're shocked when she shows up in movies because they expect to see Lady Gaga but get Stefani instead.
A lot of the DCU is being rebooted right now but I'm so glad this isn't. Joaquin Phoenix's interpretation is brilliant and it would have been criminal not to follow that up.
Im glad dc is taking creative risks. It helps keep the genre fresh
It Ha Ha Ha Land & Mad Love put together.
I used to think my life is a tragedy. Now, it’s a musical. 🤡😆
I'm for sure seeing it
Just guessing but I wonder if they decided not to make Harley a doctor because this is an “elseworld” film.
I still have my doubts about the movie so I'm going to keep my expectations for it very low, but the teaser was very well executed in my opinion. The cinematography looks amazing, the sets look amazing, it was a pretty good kick ass teaser trailer. I believe that the musical aspect of the film is all in his head, because when u look closely in the scene with Joker walking with the police with their umbrellas and they look normal, but in that same scene Joker looks up and the umbrellas are colorful, also Harley does the gun thing that he did in the first movie, how did she know he did that? He didn't do it on TV so how did she know he did that unless Harley is in his head too. Overall it's a very great trailer and hopefully the movie itself is just as good.
Along the line of the first movie not >completely< working for me as much as I hoped, is that I >didn't notice< [missed] that him waking up signified that it was a dream, so I thought it was her denying that hit happened. In a way that put me in his shoes more... accidently... by accident. and made me more disappointed (In the movie?). just slightly [i guess] [idk]
Yea, I'll wait until this is on prime
Funny thing, Warner didn’t see any of that money
That diddy joker in that
The movie looks too perfect so either Joker or Quinn is dreaming this whole story.
The only thing that worries me is the song choices.
Playing Gary glitter’s “rock and roll” as joker came down the stairs was the single worst song choice in a movie of all time.
It baffles me to think when they were editing the movie Todd Phillips watched that scene and thought to himself “this song fits the tone of this moment.”
Run DMC ? isn't that a Hip hop group
@@gonzoyork1908 good catch it wasn’t them. Maybe they sampled part of the song & that’s why I associated them with it but who knows lol.
This was a really good trailer. Let’s see how good the movie will be
This trailer again not showing Gleason or Get Out chick is convincing me they're the Gordons and so may Gaga may be Barbra who Mr. J may corrupt into Harley especially as she never says her name.
I enjoyed the first one but I'm with Martin. I don't like musicals AT ALL well...other than Krush Groove. But I'm interested in seeing what they do with it.
My only fear with this is the amount of edgelords who glorify mentally ill and violent characters like Patrick from american pyscho and be like "ZOMG this couple is so us 🥴"
Orher than that, this is the first time I've been interested in a live action movie in a long time so props to them for doing something interesting
People are straight up idiots if they don’t think the musical aspect will work.
It will draw in a new crowd of people who love musicals as well as older adults who could give two shits about a comic book movie.
The first joker movie has already proven that by bringing in a lot of casual viewers bc of its direction.
and that wasn’t even a musical.
And let’s be real. Fanboys and comic nerds are gonna see it regardless of what direction the movie chose to go with.
They would go and see it even if they thought it looked good or bad or if they heard from reviews that it was good or bad.
It’s been proven over and over again with all types of genres of dead horse film franchises
Ps I’m an old school comic nerd whose been reading and invested since the 80s (I am losing interest as of late tho with all the crap coming out lately )
I absolutely hated the first movie but I’m almost certain I will still probably end up watching this regardless.
There was a batman reference, though they didn't necessarily imply we'll see him in this universe.
Im think about the old cartoons...Joker wasnt against throwing a good tune and song here and there😂
It looks stylish , I hope it has the substance to back it up I want all movies to do well, hell wanted to like Joker 1 but it was derivative and fell short (for me personally).
I still haven’t seen the first movie yet lol 😂 Korey bro 😎
you're not missing out on much, unless you just want to be depressed
I'm a big Todd Phillips fan. Looking forward to this.
I’m actually interested because I liked the first one.
This is going to be Brilliant!!! They should introduce Jake Gyllenhaal has Bruce Wayne. Kick off the DCU right!!
The only time DC has hit in movies is by doing something more arthouse and risky, Joker and The Batman, taking these commonly understood characters and trying interesting aesthetics and themes. Honestly DC should have done this as opposed to the Zach Snyder bullshit
Technically Wizard of Oz was in her head too right?
No
