Got to have adjustable slice points, it's a must have for chops. Hoping this comes soon. Also automatic zero crossing snap points when nudging sample start times, can't always rely on the Amp envelope attack to deal with clicks if the transient needs to be exactly on the beat. And please add the ability to zoom into samples that are already in the sample pool (i.e. not only samples that have just been recorded), in a longer sample finding the right start and end point by ear alone isn't enough, we need to be able to zoom into the waveform.
Here's my suggestions: Feature to link several tracks to play in polyphony Arpeggiator A function to generate random note+trig (in scale) There's a possibility to preview presets with the keyboard without loading it, but not with the samples from the +Drive, why? Excellent Q&A on the Digitakt MKII, thanks! 🙏 It would be great if we could parameter lock / automate the tempo per step to create interesting grooves, swing and dynamic patterns. This is possible in software music trackers and also on the hardware Polyend Tracker. Considering the Elektron machines sequencing appears to be somewhat inspired by trackers it would be very cool to see this implemented into the Elektron ecosystem. Unless this is already possible and I have missed it somehow??
super nice session, thank you guys! what i‘m missing most is the global function for mixer, compressor and fx. this comes so handy in longer live sets with external midi devices. as i understood you are working on it to bring it back? ;) i would appreciate that so much!
Will the update include track Solo’ing like the Rytm? I would currently have to mute like 15 tracks to solo 1 if I have something on each(extreme example 😅)?
I would LOVE to see some sort of graphic display on the LFO page showing wtf is going on. I've been using Digi's for 5 years and it's still a partial mystery.
It would be so nice if the D2 LEDs were as bright as the original Digitakt. I find that the D2 is harder to use in daylight because the lights are dimmer, even at max intensity.
example: I have recorded a sequence of retriggers and now i want to live rec velocity changes for the retrigs i already did. How do i do that without overwriting the sequence of retrigs??
Amazing. I didn’t know you were doing this or I would have asked: I know there’s a way to slice breaks. But is there a way to sequence the slices? In the same way you can plock slices on the Octatrack? If so, that would be the ultimate sampler for me
Yea you do it the same on Digitakt II. When the Grid machine is selected, on the SRC page. hold a trig you'd like to Parameter Lock, then turn the slice knob and select which slice you'd like to assign to that step. You can also press YES, while on the SRC page, and select linear locks or random locks similar to the Octatrack.
@@WeAreElektron brilliant! Sounds intuitive. Thank you! Last question: can you pitch retrigs? Say have snare retrigs at different pitches, or portage to slide them? Thanks for getting back to me. Appreciated!
@@Cull_Obsidian Not without using an lfo as far as I know but you could hypothetically send an lfo to the tune of the sample and mess around with the rate until you're getting retrigs at different pitches. It just would be kinda hard to get the tune to be exactly where you want it for each retrig
It’s a single step. It either triggers a sound, parameter lock, or both. If it just triggers a parameter lock with no sample, it’s called a trigless trig!
love my DT2. I really only have one request that comes to mind for my workflow. Please please allow the Song button to be remapped to be a track mute button. I'm so used to that position on the Syntakt my brain cant be remapped and i keep pressing song mode when i just want to go back to mute mode. I never use song mode so it has zero value for me being so prominent 😅

2 things in looking forward to,
Manual or transient slicing
Overbridge.
That’s all it needs
Wrong! It also needs polyphony. Ideally within a self-contained single track, but some kind of multi-track link would be acceptable.

Zero crossing detection, poly machine, Midi arpeggiator - later: granular machine, more track fx, record machine
Thanks to Elektron team for fixing a lot of things in 1.02. DTII is excellent.

Super!
I think we need polyphinic sequencing and the possibility of having different fx parameters per track (not only dry/wet)
making manual chops with presets also gives option to add effects, filter etc - everything that comes with the preset - unique for each chop

Polyphony, proper slices, and arbitrary step length in the recorder!
