- Part 1 of 2 - David Mitchell discusses:
Comedy origins & meeting Robert Webb
Thoughts on current comedy
Coming projects: Playing Shop sitcom, M&W Sound, Peep Show, WILTY?
A good interview for a light, morning program.
I'm just imagining a peep show style monologue inside of his head...
I've never been fond of men's short-sleeved business shirts. Until now.
These questions are quite good for a midmorning interview and an audience possibly not already intimately familiar with Mitchell. It's very professional; I don't see what all the complaints are for.
Neither do I. Not to mention the projections people are casting on David like "this was so clearly painful" as if David was suffering from being asked interview questions from a fucking morning show host.
Most morning show hosts aren't exciting. Who wants excitement when they just fucking woke up, anyway? Not me. I want a bowl of cereal and closed blinds.
1:56 This is such a cute photo of them!
i love how proper and snobbish david appears but at the same time peep show is one filthy program
Thanks for posting!.
you can tell he studied history by the way he talks about that comment about 60's vs present day comedy
Oh well, that's all ancient history now!
Is the lady the same one that plays Mark's mom at the Christmas party? The, "that's very cheeky Hans" scene comes to mind.
Exactly, that’s what I thought
It will make Steven Fry's terrible but inevitable passing easier to deal with, knowing that David Mitchell's still about.
You are indeed right. Love all those shows so much!
Legend
peep show is back!!!!
woooohooooo!
Just goes to show you can never be too careful!
Thanks for posting this. There seems to be a bit more, do you have it?
I was intimidated by his earring...lol
does anyone know if there is a peep show series 9 coming out soon or if it even exists???
Elleni Sloan yes. its out. how did u like it?
Isn’t the female host the actress who plays David’s mum
Webb makes an attractive women.
I don't think he did, I think he just gave the example of the Holmes and Watson sketch and the one shown just happened to be another detective sketch.
From 1995 to 2005 was the best comedies ever made. I m not a John Cleese fan. I miss Gimme Gimme, Father Ted, Peep show, Black Books.
peter cook over john cleese any day
He looks so uncomfortable, but still so adorable
Love that those two idiots try and get him to spit out a nasty soundbite about John Cleese and David sees right through it, plus sort of explains to them gently why they are being naughty. Class act.
love this guy, i love his love for john cleese, i love peep show, i love their sketches, i love his panel show comedy... fuck it im gay.
Holy Shit!! David Mitchel looks like and acts like my History teacher and he did History at Uni? wow
Man crush slowly developing...
fully developed yep?
he may always be doing posh spazzy things, but I love him
I find it funny that the line "what the hell is going on here!" probably wouldn't make it on US daytime tv because americans think 'hell' is a swear word.
He reminds me of Stephen Fry so much
Soooo you're an American (or whatever) comedic genius? Glad to see you think so highly of yourself.
David Mitchell is the British version of me. He is a comedic genius.
And, comedy
Poor David. This was so clearly painful
I don't fancy David Mitchell, I just find him funny.
Monty Python was funny, and I imagine a lot of stuff from M and W were influenced by it.
Wow! Are morning news interviewers always so uptight in the UK? That was so hard to watch! I bet that was super awkward for him.
Is it too much of a stretch to say Mitchell has the finest mind of any comedian on the planet? I don't think it is.
I don't know why but i strangly find him attractive, i like geeks :') x
Mitchell and Webb are almost like Monty Python. But funny.
All I seem to get on David Mitchell videos is "He's so hot".
How comes he didn't pull out a machete and hack Fern and Phil into tiny little pieces for such dull interview questions? You can tell he is thinking about it.
Mutant Mushroom its not just her. he is a bit nervous too. Nowadays he could make boring questions funny because he is so confident
@@DendyJungle And he's come out gay now.
Tell that to my friend who was given a lecture in the US for saying that word out loud. I admit it's considered a fairly mild one though, only really omitted from kids shows. I don't know why I made this comment really, must have been drunk or just witnessed some right wing US nut on TV creating some anti-american feelings in me at the time.
common filth
They're just like Mark and Jeremy!!
How not to interview David Mitchell. What a dreadful interview. 'How hard do you work?'
Why are most English tv presenters so weird looking? And what's up with the kitsch-colored studios?
