In all fairness to Chuck Smith, he made a prediction not a prophesy, that Jesus would come for His church before the end of 1981, but he also said he could be wrong about it, but he believed it would happen.
Hal Lindsey made millions scarring people or giving them false hope, as many of these false prophets have. Did Hal give away the money as fast as it came in in order to set himself right with God before Jesus would return? or did he invest the money to enrich himself knowing he was full of crap.
Hal Lindsay has also recently cursed Putin and Russia 🇷🇺. This is disgraceful behavior. He still believes that Russia is Ro'sh in Ezekiel 37/38. He's completely wrong and he doesn't love his enemies. That's clear to me
Jack Van Impe was always saying the end was right around the corner, in a few years. I remember him doing that on TV in the early 90s. He was around before then so i am sure he was doing the before then. I mean, thats pretty much the only thing he was capable on doing. Lindsay, Van Impe, etc. were dispensationalists and were not really Christians.
Chuck Smith wrote in his book "Future Survival" 1978 Page 20 "From my understanding of Biblical prophesies, I am convinced that The Lord is coming for his church before 1981. I COULD BE WRONG (emphasis mine), but it's a deep conviction in my heart, and all my plans are predicted upon that belief." Chuck made it clear that he did not have the gift of prophesy and that he was not prophesing. Whenever he discussed this he always said that he could be wrong and would quote the scripture that says no man knows the day. Huge stretch to call Chuck's a fales prophet because of this bad interpretation of Bible prophesy - but hey - if a charismatic pastor robbed a bank the Reformed Baptists would say he robbed 4 banks and shot 2 guards.
People set dates because they want to appear to be important. Someone said "Toi be a Prophet you need to make many prophecies". They hope to throw enough mud on the wall and hope some of it sticks.
When will Jesus return? He will return in the next 100 years. Because, if he doesn't come for all of us in the next 100 years, he will at least come for you.
It doesn’t matter that these false prophets didn’t say “God told me” in order for them to be classified as a false teacher/prophet. The role in which they have assumed says it without saying it, a preacher by the strictest definition biblically is a man who preaches the very word of God and people will unfortunately believe these lies because of the position these men have taken in the church. It’s a very simple understanding. If you preach something that’s not true or false what does that make you? As the Hebrew author would say “let us leave the elementary doctrines…”
I’d have to hear Hal setting a date in context to believe that. I’ll add as well known as he is, clear proof of that should exist if it’s true. But, clearly Hal has believed we’ve been in the end times for awhile. He wrote the most popular non fiction book of the 70’s on that. He doesn’t hide any of that in his teachings or books.
You say you can't personally say you witnessed Hal Lindsey saying it but according to everything your reading online. Are you a "the internet doesn't lie" prophet? Hal Lindsey has said many things about the events of the last 80 years and what "he" believes is unfolding. Never once have I heard him proclaim it is gospel or Devine word. Have you ever told someone your gut feeling? Did you have to add a disclaimer that it's only your gut feeling and not God saying it? More time spreading God's word and less time judging others.
Have you looked at my channel? Its mostly preaching God's word so while you accuse me of "judging" you just did it yourself. It's okay I forgive you. Have a nice day.
i didn't hear him for myself, but i heard from ? that Harold Camping was very remorseful over what he did and that he repented. idk if he said this publicly or not or any of the details.
Thanks for sharing, I never heard he said it publicly, since he gave the prediction publicly his repentance (if it happened) must also be public. He owes it to the flock. If you find that he did please link to it. God bless.
Oh my goodness. I'm very sorry i even interjected about Harold Camping to be honest. i just know i heard a radio show many years ago say he was sorry. i just found these two videos when i typed, ''public apology harold camping'' in the yt search box. The one is hard to hear but he simultaneously says he sinned when he said that while also saying he ''assisted God'' by showing the world that there was a Bible. But i don't agree at all that there was anything good at all that came out of his false, unscriptural ''prediction''. Then in the other video [which i didn't even bother finishing to watch] is nothing but utter nonsense coming from him. In that one he's saying something about that even though he wasn't ''accurate'' that ''something did happen on May 21 even though it wasn't seen'', and something about how as of that date judgement did fall on the earth and that they had expected some 5 month thing or something; just utter nonsense so i just turned it off. Wow such trouble from him. And i'm sorry i even interjected smh. th-cam.com/video/ltQiaSnXmSc/w-d-xo.html ---- th-cam.com/video/KBevUZE0TNw/w-d-xo.html
You said "the only reason I'm doing this video is" but you never specifically gave a reason. Can you clarify? I'm not trying to bait you. Can you tell us specifically what spiritually moved you to call out other flawed men that are believers just like you and I are flawed men who are believers? In my lifelong experience (63 years), this is a rabbit hole that has no bottom, even with the near forensic levels of interpretive eschatology that have evolved since knowledge has increased over time. The different schools of thought derived from the allegorical and literal interpretation of Bible prophecy have unfortunately been somewhat of a distraction for the church, particularly now that we have "new" versions of scripture being published almost every month. I'm not a "follower" of any human being who teaches The Word, nor do I have an allegiance to anyone other than my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Just based on all the tags you took the time to add, this appears to be a topic of deep personal relevance to you, however I'm not familiar with your teaching and I haven't taken the time to view any other videos. I try to keep my face buried in a Bible as much as I possibly can. This video popped in my feed of what is normally dirt track car racing videos lol. Thank you for your time and I hope your ministry helps as many people as possible accept Jesus into their lives.

Bereans searched the scripture daily to see whether the things being taught were true.
