A lot of hate for this thing... not sure why. I think it's cool! It's literally meant for transforming your effects and guitar into crazy and wild sounds, but people are complaining about it for doing what it was made to do. If you don't like absolutely mad sounds you shouldn't be watching a death by audio demo and complaining anyway 😂
Well said. Personally, I believe Death By Audio is a breath of fresh air. I'm a 57 year old guitar fanatic and I am bored to death by the same old shit. I really dig Oliver Ackerman and his creations.

I've had a wah, boost, a rat, chorus, phaser, delay and reverb in the loop at the same time it was immense and extreme soundscapes occurred. If you're a shoegazer it's a must have

Andy: I've always wondered (as a player who most of the time only uses my fingers), when you are seemingly mimicking the hand position of holding a pick... Are you plucking the strings with your thumbnail or forefinger nail??? For what it's worth, I constantly vary my approach. Thumb for more bass driven parts, and pointer finger when I need more attack. Just curious :)

Do you have to send/return it from the first pedal in your chain? Or can you hook it up to any pedal in the chain? If so, what socket do I put it in? because I can't work out how I can patch cable a pedal to other ones if i need a socket for this.
Momentary switch and exp. jack for feedback knob is the only way I'm giving you anywhere near that kind of $$$ for a damn feedback looper. I can buy a feedback looper for $50 from Saturnworks that has a momentary switch. For $250, give me a momentary switch with adjustable ramping.
Andy is a demo genius. I love to see the ideas he comes up with for pedals I'm interested in. Besides, not everyone has a Guitar Center nearby. Closest one to me is 2 1/2 hours away. Andy's demos are insightful and free.

Anyway, my point (which wasn't made clearly) is that now is the Golden Age of guitar pedals, and with all the great pedal makers I don't know why anybody would bother with ElectroHarmonix. I bought a Big Muff and it was a waste of money: there are fuzz pedals out there that beat the Big Muff at its own game, that are superior in every way, shape, and form. The only advantage ElectroHarmonix pedals would have is maybe price.
@@profd65 Guitar Centers are usually in big cities (and maybe some of the larger college towns) but where I'm at, a small town in the midwest, there isn't one close by. I've had an assortment of Boutique pedals over the years. Barefoot FX, Matthew's Effects, and Alexander pedals to name a few. All great, but my EHX pedals performed just as well. To this day, they have some of the most innovative pedals in the game and a great price. That's why I still use them. Have you checked out the Grand Canyon? It's got a lot of awesome features. Some of them gimmicky, sure, but still musical. Besides, the pedal in this video is very gimmicky, so it's not like that's a bad thing. I bet Andy could get some really good sounds out of the Grand Canyon.
Interesting pedal. I'm not sure how long it would take to find the few really usable sounds among the many, many ear-destroying ones. The Fuzz Factory is another pedal concept that sounds better in theory.
It's a feedback device. It's meant for ear destruction, though the distortion tones he was making weren't all that bad. But mostly It's meant to add glitchy distorted walls of sound to a song by turning your pedalboard into a noise machine.

Listening on headphones, I had to turn the volume right down at some points because i found some of the sounds physically painful. I think the musical uses of this pedal are very limited. It's a $200 toy for the easily bored.
