I’m shocked I was able to upload this video. I’ve experienced SO many technical issues over the last week. My main camera is broken, my cell phone kept refusing to upload the footage I filmed, my DJI camera wouldn’t upload footage, my laptop crashed every hour, I spent half of Friday on the phone with Apple and DJI, Final Cut Pro corrupted my video when I downloaded it, and then TH-cam stopped uploading my video halfway through the upload process. Jeesh! I didn’t get this video uploaded until 3am. Here it is, though…somehow. I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday ❤. I appreciate you.

Well, you just keep having chances to prove to yourself just how strong GOD made you. Shedding tears of frustration is natural and nothing to be embarrassed about. I can definitely relate to the feeling of being different. We appreciate you, too.

Woahhh… that is some effort you put into this!! It can be so so frustrating when ‘everything’ seems to conspire against the task we want to complete
Your tenacity paid off! Many thanks for another beautiful video with your focus on ‘real van life’ … this is what I come here for.. I started following you when you lived in your car, and have always been so admiring of your persistence, and your calm demeanour… when I ‘grow up’ 😂 I would like to have the character traits of you and Lady Bugout (another van dweller) …

Monique, never feel bad about crying. It isn't a sign of weakness, it's a sign that you are a feeling, sensitive human being. I know everyone who watches your videos can empathize and relate to you. I sure can! It was very brave of you to share....sending much love from California, from a fellow introvert. 💞

I find this hilarious in remembering back to when I first noticed people starting to talk aloud in the grocery store, and they would say, "hello, hello," and I would turn and say, "hey! How are you?" Only to realize that they're trying to speak to someone on a phone. 😂
Now, I just answer them whether they are talking to me or not.
I have no idea, but at least I spoke.
Re: talking to self...I started looking at it as I'm never really talking to myself..... Because somewhere someone out there who looks like me is talking to me, too!😊
      Makes sense to me!🎉
P.S. Good for you on the 7+ mile walk!
I'm up to about 4 miles a day walking the halls of my elementary school when they're clear of little legs.

I'm a dad, I have a home, I live in a big city, a Christian, but I find you relatable. Like, if your spirit was giving off a frequency that you feel is maybe undetectable, it's not. You are not weird. The frequency thing is a weird analogy to use by I won't delete it coz I sense you'll get it. Stay safe out there and praying you hit your short-term and long-term goals.

I am in my 70’s and bc of language barrier and culture difference’s I tried for decades to assimilate to American culture but could not! It’s been 50 yrs of torment for me bc ppl don’t understand me and I can’t understand their way of thinking! So I’ve been isolated all these decades but now I finally have free from trying to assimilate! It’s only by the grace of God that I’ve been freed. I really enjoy listening to you bc you make so much sense. Stay safe.

I can totally relate to you feeling different, not being able to do small talk, being an introvert, a “cave woman”, living in isolation, not being understood. I am all of that. I also have had to “pretend” to be like the “others”. It is draining. Now I don’t care anymore, not worth the exhaustion. Those who follow you surely can also relate. You are not alone 🤗💕

If you like parking around semi trucks in certain places you would probably benefit from Trucker Path which is a free app meant for truckers but useful for Rovers, Van Lifers as well because it shows you location and info regarding parking places like Walmarts, Lowe’s, truck stops, rest areas and has a comment review section for others previous feedback/experience.
Im a retired trucker which my channel was dedicated toward. I was solo cross country so I know about keeping safe and how to find parking for semi and van living as I’ve done that too.
The way you explained to us where you’re from is a perfect answer “nowhere and everywhere”. I love that actually.

I go through similar. My whole life feeling like I a a stranger in a strange land. For me, it turns out I am neurodivergent. It took figuring out that the folks I found I vibed with the best have always been a tribe of folks who were basically also this, hahahah. So now when I go through all the trials and tribulations I now know it's just that I really AM different and that's totally okay. I don't have to try to figure it out as much. Now I do everything I can to prioritise my solitude, do my own thing unapologetically and feel my feels (or not) and explore the world on my terms as best as possible.
We as humans want to connect, just not all of us want to do it in the same ways...
I enjoy your content so much. It is very soothing to watch.

This was particularly relatable! I don't have the standard, 'acceptable to much of society', answers to those questions either, and I often feel awkward because of other's reactions to anything outside of their comfort zone.
I'm not a van lifer, but I love watching your channel, along with others. I enjoy seeing others living differently. I love the travel aspect and vicariously visiting more places too. Content matters, but who people are - specifically their authenticity - makes a channel worth watching for me. Thank you for sharing.

It seems like you're experiencing a range of emotions, mainly when things don't go as planned. For instance, your camera isn't working, and you're also having issues with your iPad. It's normal to feel frustrated or cry when things don't go smoothly; sometimes, it can feel like everything is falling apart. It is common for people, including myself, to talk to themselves frequently. I find that practicing meditation and taking time to decompress help me better manage my emotions. I enjoyed watching this video and am excited to see the upcoming episodes. 💜💜💜💜

You are the 1st Muslim woman who has a van life. This is admirable! I am very intetested in living in a tiny house with my cats some day. I want a big garden, tbh. 😁 I gotta say that I chsnged from being an introvert into an extrovert over the years. I am happy talking with people just for the sake of making jokes (I mainly make the jokes and study their reactions). But I live like an hermit with my 2 cats. I enjoy the healing moments of silence.

It is suspicious as heck that that girl was interrogating you on your address. WTH? Like once you said your city, what is the pressure? What you just said about the military brat thing is the perfect answer. I am a military brat, I live everywhere. I am glad you are finally normalizing crying in front of people. Honestly, Please do not judge a book by its cover. May be the girl you met would have loved to know your experiences and would have found it super cool and inspiring. I feel you yourself feel more awkward about it and that makes you feel others would, too. Give them a chance, even though you may have had bad experiences with some, most people love to hear about experiences they don't (or cannot) have. You are such a badass, strong-headed, insprirational woman. You are doing what many of us don't. I would love to randomly bump into someone like you (although, may be you won't being an introvert 🙂)

Unfortunately, this is why I had to temporarily stop my channel… however I do look forward to my return soon! 🙌🏽 I really appreciate the YT community of positive, supportive people! I’ve been fortunate to have formed some very solid friendships with people I actually met and keep in touch with IRL. As humans we are all connected when we are truly ourselves! 🩷

I personally am very impressed by your determination to go for what you want. I had an old friend who gave me an assessment of my personality. When I told him that I was an introvert. He told me that I suffered from PTSD. I'm like me for childhood abuse by my mother that hated my father, and I looked just like him. I think that he said that, because I have little problem talking when I want to. You can talk when you want to. You are extroverting yourself by showing your life. I always remember that knowledge is power. Few people have the courage to do what you are doing. Be proud of it. This is the land of the free and the home of the brave. Ask them! They'll tell you! You must always be vigilante. Crackerbox or not. That's what I consider apartment living. Some billion getting rich off of draining my resources. Keep on MOVING girl!

I completely understand. I also don’t fit into a box. ‘Where are you from?, has never been a simple question to answer. People want to put you in a box and when you don’t fit, things often get awkward.. We are outliers because of how we think and our unique upbringing. Big hugs, Sis.

Hello beautiful. You are not weird. There is nothing wrong with being an introvert. I'm outgoing and too friendly, but relate to anyone. When I meet people who ask too many questions that I don't want to answer, I smile & politely say I'd rather not answer. Don't feel compelled to answer every question a stranger ask. It's okay to cry when you need to. I can't wait for you to buy your land & hopefully share your experience. I pray your camera is fixed quickly & you have safe & fun travels. Our cycles will have our emotions all over the place . I'm sure not having your things organized & upcoming cycle played a major role with your mood . Many blessings.❤❤🎉🎉🎉

Hi there. I’m a newer sub and absolutely love your videos. Honestly we have not much in common. I’m a french Canadian with kids your age. I don’t live a nomadic life. I do, however, see a beautiful girl ( inside and out) and find myself cheering you on and praying for you . Keep being you and never, ever worry about what others think about you. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Wow listening to your story it made me re-evaluate the kinds of questions I'll ask as I get to know new acquaintences. I heard someone do a talk where they were comparing and contrasting how people from different cultures find certain questions really invasive and rude. And it struck a deep chord in me. Really made me think. I stopped asking certain questions to new acquaintences then, and now I have several more to add to the list.

Yeah, I relate to you in this video. I was in my car for 6 months. I had window coverings on every window. No one was ever worried about that, but I am in an area where care break In's happen a lot so I think people expect you to do what you can to prevent them.
I was living in my car (small prius) but an attempted breakin (while i was in the car) made me want to shift out of the car quickly. Plus a few arguments and such in or around my car. I lived in a really populated area and found finding quiet places to sleep hard. I'm back in apartment living and working a 9 - 5. Not my plan at all. But I may have to just ride this out until I can find an out to a simpler existence. My hope is to save up for a sturdy vehicle like yours, and get a van that has less windows, and can be set up for a water system, and big enough for using the bathroom in, so I don't always have to go to places like Planet Fitness to use bathroom and shower. I'm tall and using the bathroom in the Prius was too small.
In any case, I've been following your journey for like 2 years now, and you've taught me a lot about how to center your joy and happiness in how you live your life. Thanks for that. Keep thriving.
I'm excited to see you camping again when you get the chance.
Now that it's been a few months since the beet harvest, do feel like you might do it again? Since you might know what to expect going into it now? Or maybe some other form of seasonal work?

I can totally relate to feelings when you are the odd one & the strange tears you feel when someone touches your heart. I too just want to cry when everything seems to go wrong, or even just one thing no matter if it’s small & I have to talk myself out of it like I’m going over a ledge. But you Feel & that’s what is important ….so many people are out of touch with themselves & don’t even know it

Monique, sometimes life is rough and inconvenient. Please be encouraged, pay to get whatever fixed that needs fixing, and let this short spell pass. I’m an introverted extrovert😆 and have felt different for most of my life, as well. I accept and embrace it, though, and refuse to allow others to make me feel badly. I feel isolated quite a bit, especially lately bc I had colon surgery, on top of chronic illness, which has made me not want to get out to do anything. I haven’t even bumped into strangers at the store, which is an important part of my tiny social life, because I’ve been in the house recovering. My dr wrote a RX for a light-weight electric wheelchair to help me become more mobile, hence more social. Waiting for insurance approval. I can walk, just not for long periods of time, nor can I stand for extended periods of time. 🌻Let’s be encouraged and do what we can to have a good week! Take care, hun!🥰

Dollar Tree is a good place to get cheap containers and they usually have lots, at least here in Canada. (Don't know how accessible a store is to you, though.) Thanks for being so real in your vid. Life is not easy and sharing your emotional moment helps us all to remember everyone is going through stuff and a little kindness to each other goes a long way.

Hey Monique, would you do a video on fasting? I’ve heard so much info it’s overwhelming about fasting for women and the right and wrong ways to do it with hormones ect… would be great to know what you do. 🙏🏼

    • @simmpleenough
      @simmpleenough  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

Hi! I don't think I know enough about fasting to make a video on it. I just try things and if I notice some abnormal side effects, I stop. If not, I'll keep doing it. I've been intermittent fasting (and doing full day fasts) for a while now and have not experienced negative effects on my hormones (or anything else), so I'm still doing it.
