Came across 2 AE-1 Program cameras this afternoon in a big bag in the closet. Had FD 70-210 mm 1:4 lens; Vivitar MC Tele Converter; FD 50mm 1:18 lens and some accessories. I went through your guide. Took about an hour since I had to keep pausing and it's amazing that you held my attention for that long. I even took notes. Will head over to Vid 2 after I've had some coffee.

Thank you! I am always glad, more than I can express, to know my work helps people learn their cameras.

This was my first camera I received as a HS graduation present in 1982. It always worked great. I later picked up an A-1 to get multi-exposure ability! I loved them both!

Nice! These are great first cameras and they can grow with a user, too.

Thank you! Was given a hardly used model this Fall.
Though a long time Nikon film shooter - Canon is different.
One of the best consumer Canon models.

I sill have my AE-1P that I bought in West Berlin, Germany in 1984. I just recently bought an A1 for the aperature priority function.

So I can't swap lenses if I have film loaded in the camera?

8/19-23 l like your camera reviews, when I was in the Navy 1979-83 the C anon AE-! was the preferred camera to use for shooting film, My own preference was the Konica AutoRreflex T which also had auto-exposed like the AE-1. For my medium format, I upgraded to the Mamiya 645 for the larger negative format.

Nice! Yeah, the Konicas were really good. For the NAvy cameras, those changed as the procurements and contracts changed. Back in the 40s, Graflex and Kodak cameras were the preferred cameras (or at least the ones I have seen the most with USN property tags on them) and later in the 90s the Nikon F4 was used a lot (I had a USN surplus F4 that I used for some videos on this channel, too.)

Thank you, your videos provided an excellent re-acquaintance with my first camera that I haven't touched in two decades, but that i'm excited to take up again!

I love my ae-1 program. I use a 28mm prime for photographing structures.
