Watching the replay. Without comments from others, I felt like I had my own personal class with you. Miss others comments. Absolutely loved this class. Thanks, Mary.💓
I started with distress inks. I have Cerebral Palsy and the light touch for Catherine Pooler inks is too frustrating for me to want to buy. I used a friend's one day. I like the brightness of the distress. I have 90% minis, but I have indulged in some full size pads because I ADORE the bigger ergonomic brushes. I don't keep cards in direct sunlight, but I have not had my oxide or distress cards fade. I think one of the hardest things to face is that I have enough ink colors.
Watching replay ...Found you on you tube last night - you are the best! I'm on a budget and your ideas & hacks are inspirational. It's a joy to watch you! Take care of yourself, be safe!
Mary, enjoyed the replay…at one point someone asked about oxide ink on photo cards - you will LOVE the results. Dry in between layers and then dry. You can then use a baby wipe to wipe off the oxidation and VIOLA - Beautiful background
@@marypolancodesigns Sasha (Reade) did a couple of amazing videos on this - which reminds me: still have my virgin package of photo paper sitting here… Bought because I HAD to try this technique…
I heard the question about low cost ink and I found Misterart the price are best I found online. Plus when stuff goes on sale really nice. I am helping don't own the store LOL.
I, too, have CP and Oxides (building my collection, the colours I like, only). Distress, I have reinkers only (and a few stray ink pads and minis I picked up super-cheap on sale…) for water colouring, techniques etc. CP for blending and stamping, Oxide for blending and techniques - really a world of colourful 🤩
Nice job Mary. Excellent point re: fear of failed cards and need for structure in process. Well, sort of reverse for me…I LOVE the thrill of the occasional “Wow! This card is gorgeous” more than playing. 😊
O have personality been on the receiving end. I have been in several stores across the country. When I asked for Hanukkah decorations I was told " we do not serve your kind. " Is that proof enough? I can go on
QUESTION: I have never sealed my blended Oxide backgrounds and never had any issues (just vigorously rubbed over on sitting here - nothing). Is it the smooshing which makes the Oxides „instable“? Or why the need for sealing??? Kind regards, Nicola
I agree, I hardly ever seal my projects but I suppose because they are water reactive if you sent a card through the mail and it got wet, it would change the who look of the oxide design.
1:21:22 I only have tim holts distressed ink the photo. Is off your class today the bigger one is the 2 last ones you did with the blind pick i am going to die cur some flowers out off it
What you said it’s so true, I’ve been afraid of trying mixed media, and I know I have to, also of alcohol inks, but I’m ready just got my TH’s douche bag to get started. This was fun, letting go at my age it’s fun. T4s

I have been on the receiving side of it. In many states across the country I have asked for Hanukkah 🕎 decorations and been told "We do nit serve your kind!" Ir simply been given the run around the store until I gave up and left.

Roberta from Sydney Australia, My first video today, I have a glass of water first in the morning then about half an hour later, Coffee.
Hi Roberta! WELCOME! I have heard that's the best way to introduce caffeine in the morning. I try to do that was well!

Then “once dry” I meant to say, lol
Will definitely be trying this!

Love that reminder for all of us; thank you!
Watching replay.
Missed the live, forgot about time zones.
First is some milk with my herbals, then it is tea with honey brewed from loose leaves.
oooh that sounds really good and I'm not even a tea drinker.
Tea & honey
I use my oxides to color die cuts😊
Great use for them!
Oh my honestly love my Diet Coke. 😊
YAY! Enjoying something we love is a good thing.
Tea w/sugar & milk.
I’m very much a coffee girl
What happens if you use alcohol spray instead of water on your distress oxide ink? Would it work?
I've never tried that, sounds interesting
I can hear you!

I say this exact thing all the time. I need fellow teen parent support sometimes. lol
