My daughter was born 2 months early and has been battling the complications of Wolff Parkinson’s white syndrome.. lots of long nights praying she would survive while still inside of me, and lots of nights sleeping with a crash cart outside of her NICU room. I was in hospital for 2 months but they let me sneak out to see Bublés. Concert right before she was born. She has been in the nicu ever since. Today we have received the news that Adelaide will be discharged and can finally come home on Christmas ❤️ what a miracle. We have been listening to this song on repeat ❤❤

I love this song. I am the last one from a family of six. This year both my Brother and sister followed my older brother and both parents to the end of their lives. At 87 I cannot complain, life has been good to me and the rest of the original crew. I still have my wife and Precious Daughter. I pray that I go before them. My heart could not take that loss.

sometimes, i feel so down and low. my family isn't as supportive as id like them to be. recently, i stormed out of my house after getting into a fight with my parents. i went to the park and realized it was the first day of snow this year. seeing all the untouched snow, resting over like a blanket onto the changing leaves, i sang this song while walking around the park. i realized how much i loved christmas, how often i dreamt of a snowglobe hallmark movie christmas. i never got it, but what i do get is the luck of actually having my family with me for christmas. the thought of wanting to spend every christmas with my family and never growing up hit me hard. it was the that thought that eventually led me home again.

During my tour of duty in Vietnam inevitably Christmas rolled around. I was privileged to attend a Bob Hope Show at Freedom Hill, Danang which entertained but also brought to my consciousness of home. I began to ruminate on my separation from friends and family and the song that comforted me was “I’ll be home for Christmas”. Obviously that didn’t happen but it has always been my favorite Christmas Song and always will be.

I know what you mean. It’s a very great song but it makes you feel both a longing for those christmases past and a painful feeling of not being able to see your family for Christmas.

sometimes, i feel so down and low. my family isn't as supportive as id like them to be. recently, i stormed out of my house after getting into a fight with my parents. i went to the park and realized it was the first day of snow this year. seeing all the untouched snow, resting over like a blanket onto the changing leaves, i sang this song while walking around the park. i realized how much i loved christmas, how often i dreamt of a snowglobe hallmark movie christmas. i never got it, but what i do get is the luck of actually having my family with me for christmas. the thought of wanting to spend every christmas with my family and never growing up hit me hard. it was the that thought that eventually led me home again.

@@darylfitz4189 my dads almost 80 and just got surgery so we dont think its a good idea. I have visited but just sitting outside. If they were younger i would be ok with it. Plus Im in a covid hot spot. The cases are sky rocketing 2000 a day an hour from here.

During my tour of duty in Vietnam inevitably Christmas rolled around. I was privileged to attend a Bob Hope Show at Freedom Hill, Danang which entertained but also brought to my consciousness of home. I began to ruminate on my separation from friends and family and the song that comforted me was “I’ll be home for Christmas”. Obviously that didn’t happen but it has always been my favorite Christmas Song and always will be.
Never felt the true meaning of this song until this year. In the army, and was told I couldn't go home for Christmas this year. I miss my son, especially this time of year.

The usual christmas before the pandemic is filled with frantic shopping, hectic church schedules, just stress all-around. I'm not saying this pandemic is a good thing, not at all, because it's not. But maybe for the first time in years, I'll be having a much calmer holidays, just a slow moving days of freedom. Finally, I can breath a long sigh of relief.

This is one of my favourite Christmas song of all time! It's very special to me, as an international student who studied oversea and never got to be home for Christmas.
I met the very first love, and thought to myself that he will become my new family and new home from now on. We have been together for a beautiful 3 years. But I lost him last year since he chose another woman and married her. My only Christmas wish is to see him pop up from underneath my Christmas tree, telling me that he still loves me. Well, if only in my dreams.
