Thanks for this video. I will be upgrading my older SolarEdge system here in Indiana once these new products are available.
I have a solaredge system. It is stellar. Installation was a bit bumpy, but for the last 7 months, I get great results. It's April 2024 and I get 20 to 25kW/day depending on cloud cover.
If the PV power is going to be throttled (clipped-lowered), then the homeowner will feel that the money paid for the system is not being fully utilized, whereas a Main Panel Upgrade can take advantage of the full PV power generated. Maybe I can see the benefit if the PV breaker was within 5-10A within the 120% rule but if you required 80A of PV..would this suggested solution work? how much PV power can a homeowner expect to lose?
Go Chris! 💪
Will PCS be available for upgrade to current Solar Edge Home Hub Inverters?
Wish Solar Surge would do a segment on these new solar metered collared devices.
Are they really going to replace grid disconnect systems of the past for easier on/off grid backup Solar installation?
I have 1 year old SolarEdge new wave. So this model doesn’t support the bi-directional EV charger ?
Just trying to understand do I still require the Backup Interface with the Home Hub for complete Island/off grid mode?
Yes
Waiting for 800w panel at a reasonable price before even thinking about any upgrades ;-)
You gonna be waiting a LONG time for 800W panels unless you think plywood size panels fit on most roofs
@@mattbrew11 Yep, my comment was kind of sarcastic since it would essentially double the output of current panels and current 400w panels arent cheap.
They are pretty nice, but I have a 10kWh battery sitting on the floor at our shop to replace one that’s been operating for only 8 months..
Ive been RMA’ing a TON of 7.6 tesla inverters and powerwalls lately
@@mattbrew11same man
They instaled this kind of inverter for me last year and i had problem to connect to wifi for monitoring .it seems that most people has this kind of problem and i trid to contact solaredge no one helped me to solve the issue.Very disappointed.
Should have asked him why their inverters have such a bad failure rate
Ha, thats why u need to upgrade! Also, they got like 25yr warranty, so free replacement if it takes a dump. Speaking from experience.
My fleet data says its about 4% in the first two years. A lot of the failures installers see is due to terrible installation practices
How would a bad installation make am inverter fail? @@mattbrew11
It’s solar edge so it’s going to fail and when that thing fails. I do not want it overloading my freaking bus bar heck no
What kind of review of a SolarEdge inverter is that has the sales minion of SolarEdge telling how magnificent is their product???
Try to do something that looks like a review rather than a SolarEdge sales pitch and an advertisement of your sponsor (and.. do you need a sponsor to make a sales pitch video?)
I learned a lot about the different products. You seem like a debbie downer.
