YESSSSSS. I'm so glad you reacted to Adam with Queen. I don't think any other singer could sing the material and do it justice the way Adam has tbh. He has never tried to replace Freddie, but pay homage and make the songs his own. Such a talented individual.
And the band seem to love playing with him too, it's obvious the way they interact with each other.

I'm pretty impressed when someone with hand tattoos, which are pretty painful to get, can be emotional and fighting back tears when awestruck by Adam Lambert. I myself am a late arrival on the Adam platform (thank you Netflix,) and I must say that I had a similar reaction to that of Steven when hearing him sing Who Wants to Be Forever. With this song as well as with Cher's Believe, The Show Must Go On at the Belfast EMAs in 2011 and others both by Queen and Lambert, I had to stop listening mid-sentence because I thought I would break into a million pieces. In Queen's own words: there is just nobody out there that can interpret their catalogue and the last thing they need is an impersonator who sounds like Freddie. AL put fun back into gigs that have well, pretty funny lyrics like Bicycle Race and Killer Queen where extravagant, OTT performances allow Adam to be just that, as according to Brian May and Roger Taylor, they were taking themselves too seriously back in the day. On the other hand, Adam has added an equal amount of majestic talent to the high notes that even Freddie couldn't sing. Looking forward to more AL on this channel, so.

Also, at the risk of unpopular opinion, I think Freddie Mercury would be shocked at what Adam Lambert can do, vocally. Anyone saying he's not Freddy needs to get over their nostalgia. Of course the songs won't sound identical to what they're used to, but Adam is every bit Freddy's equal, and I think moreso, in terms of vocal talent.

Of course there will only be one Freddie Mercury and I will always claim him to be the best singer to ever have lived, but there is also only one Adam Lambert and he is an absolute BEAST!!!! • @texasseastar

Someone probably mentioned it, but it started with him singing Queen on American Idol and they contacted Brian May about it. The band then agreed to perform with Adam on the show (the finale, I think it was). They had no plans at that point of touring again, but there was a clear spark when Adam sang with them and fast forward a bit and Adam now tours with them and does still record his own music. He’s definitely one of the best vocalists around.

Oh- and BTW- guitarist Brian May wrote that song decades ago - inspired by his father, but specifically fir an old tv series called Highlander- about immortals. The first time he heard Adam sing it- he just stopped playing he was so stunned and moved. “I had absolutely no idea it could sound like that”. And that says it all. Roger Taylor said he had never heard this song sung like that before and Brian May said he will be playing his guitar on stage and Adam hits these notes and he's just wow. I've been watching Queen + Adam Lambert's European concert tour this summer that just ended. They also released a Livestream of one of their London concerts that expires tonight. It is so good and Adam is definitely the right person to front Queen to honor Freddie. His outfits alone are worth a look... just wow! There's a Netflix documentary called The Show Must Go On and it goes thru the band losing Freddie and how they carried on afterwards and when they figured they were done Adam just fell came along and it was a perfect match. Their chemistry on stage is so fun to watch. Brian is now 75 and Roger 73 and they are still great! One of favorite songs to watch him sing with Queen is Under Pressure. Roger and Adam sing it together and when Adam gets to that why part and his voice just climbs... it's amazing! When they were Bologna Italy they added an opera aria Nessun Dorma to those two shows because it's the birthplace of opera and Adam just nails it! I have recently gotten into his music from his solo career and there are so many good songs! His last album Velvet is his best but the other 3 are really good. I'm really into the song Closer to You (live sessions) or even on the James Corden show. There's an acoustic performance of him doing On the Moon for the James Corden show during lockdown that's just fantastic.

I remember watching this live in concert, Atlanta 2019, and absolutely sobbing. This has always been my favourite Queen anthem and hearing Adam’s distinctive voice being so delicate yet powerful… it’s overwhelming. Incredible showman, perfect one to choose to sing these iconic songs. RIP Freddie, I know you’re up there smiling down on those who honour your life’s works.

Adam Lambert is the Best male singer today. Adam has a beautiful, powerful and consistent voice.
Adam Lambert has expert control over his instrument, producing notes that are well supported, and achieved via great technique. He is a master in using Belting! Adam is capable of singing complex melisma and is able to hold notes for periods of time without wavering in pitch or tone, seemingly effortlessly.
Adam is also a brilliant showman and is able to sing in any musical style.

Iheart Love Kills is another stunning performance.
Milan Save Me is beautiful and impressive given that he is recovering from severe bronchitis.
Somebody To Love on X Factor had the contestants looking awe-struck!
Adam Lambert as a solo artist :
His tribute to Cher at the Kennedy Centre was spellbinding and had Cher in tears! Stay/Underneath in Nagoya Japan was so raw and heartfelt it was almost painful to watch.
His new album Velvet is his best yet IMO...he seems so much more confident about doing things his way... his live performance on The Talk of Superpower showed off his vocals really well. Closer to You on the James Corden show was just beautiful. And he's done several of his Velvet songs acoustic at home for the Grammy Museum...just sublime. His live sessions for Velvet are great too.
And Adam Lambert/Tommy Ratcliffe acoustic Cuckoo is pretty funny....!

Freddie himself from heaven brought Queen to the US to perform with the two finalists for that season of American Idol--Adam Lambert and (winner) Kris Allen. The chemistry with Adam was there right away, like a bolt of lightning.. Of course Adam isn't Freddie but this US Queen fan since Killer Queen hit our shores in 1974 appreciates and loves Adam Lambert for helping keep Queen in our present and not only our past. Adam so pays respect to Freddie in every note that I cant believe anything but Freddie brought Brian and Roger together with Adam. Adam has been touring with Queen for ten years now! He releases his own great solo stuff and gets to sing some of the greatest songs in rock history.

Adam is an exceptional vocalist - he has never and will never try to imitate Freddie. Brian and Roger have done many many videos/interviews where they have thanked Adam for allowing them to continue to perform their catalogue. They didn't think they would find anyone who a) wasn't a Freddie mimic and b) could sustain the vocal stamina that their tracks demand because Fred was a vocal beast ! Adam is the first one to pay homage to Freddie and often says that he is honoured to have been given the opportunity. I'm glad there is talk that they are actually going to release a new album soon - it will be very interesting.
