If I remember correctly, most diff drop kits for the 4Runners included spacers for the skid plate as well so it would clear. Wonder if that would work here?
I don't think I'm qualified to give you advice on that but my thoughts are, if the RCV's have enough usable operating angle, you shouldn't need a diff drop. But I don't know *how much* more angle they would need versus stock, or how much the RCV's allow, so I simply can't say. Also it's going to be dependent on your specific suspension setup, which may be different than mine. I had considered the RCV or Spicer Ultimates, but they're both very expensive so I saw this diff drop and a $450 set of Ford shafts as a low-cost alternative. I had heard that the RCV's had some quality issues when they first came out but I'm guessing they've worked those out by now?
@@HorsinAround yeah exactly right. and with my long arm suspension i have almost double the flex. so rcv we shall see. yes all issues have been fixed as far as everyone says.
“Honest reassessment of life choices” 😂
LOL

I suppose you could do that but I'd rather not loose that ground clearance across the entire width of the skid.
Hell Yea Brother
Thanks Dunc!
ive already gone thru 2 sets. and just ordered RCV shafts. do you think its a good idea to diff drop still ? i have the baja long arm kit on it also .
