    All my released material uses exclusively and Epiphone SG standard (haha), but now I use the Schecter Damien Elite 7. The Schecter is what you hear in the mixes in this video.

    I use Axe FX II now, but this was one of the best free(ish) ways to record guitars.

      Hey! I have an AXE FX II also, what are some of your tips for recording heavy distortion using it?

      A lot of the same principles mentioned here apply. I've gotten some really good tones by keeping the amp gain low and relying on overdrive for more of the distortion. There's usually some harsh scratchiness in the upper frequencies to be LP filtered or notched out, but not as bad as how it was using the free VSTs. The Axe FX II gives you the potential for way better source tones that don't require much EQing. beyond filters.
