I traveled to Wilmington the other day and I was really sad at how awful some areas were. What part of Delaware is diverse with decent schools and neighborhoods. I’m a single mom and we don’t live in a bad area at all. However, I’m ready for changes but don’t want to raise my children in an environment they never had to deal with. I’m trying so hard to find better for us.

Hello, I totally understand that. There are parts in the City of Wilmington that have gone downhill really bad. I’ll tell you this though, within the next 10 years, there will be lots of changes. They are really tearing down lots of abandoned homes and replacing them with beautiful ones. Even the city downtown is totally transformed to a safe area. Now as far as finding a place now with your kids, I think that Newark, Bear, and even Middletown are pretty nice areas to raise a family.

Also I used to live on 22th st during my teen high school years ! It's a jungle but I made it out of there if you can make it out there you can make it anywhere I stay to myself I didn't get involved in drugs or alcohol !

That is awesome! These young guys get involved in this dead end lifestyle, and then don't know where to turn. I'm glad you made it out, and on to another state in peace!⭐

Thank you for sharing this video and the travelling information notes. This city reminds me slightly of both Mobile, AL (I had lived in my 20s for 6 years before joining the USAF, but Mobile has more trees). And slightly Tallahassee, FL (visited a couple of times). Date Stamp: 24sept21

Oh wow! I’ve never been there, but when I think of Mobile, AL, I think super country lol. Interesting comparison.

Wilmington looks like a mixture of Baltimore and Philadelphia.

I’m relocating to Delaware for employment in Wilmington are there any places out there that don’t care about credit I need something ASAP so I can work and pay my student loans off

Hello, I am so sorry for the late reply. Your best bet is to find a private landlord. You may have luck hiring a realtor, or some listings on Trulia are private landlords too.

@@delawareliving84 thanks for this...I dont have credit issues im just worried about the job and apt thing in terms of needing one to get the other yet some places ask for a local job or address before hand and I do not know anyone in the state of DE

    • @delawareliving84

@@irishcladdagh3 okay, that's understandable. The positive side to moving out of state is that most of the time, you just need an offer letter from your new employer. If you're self employed, then you would need previous tax returns, bank statements, etc., but if you're looking to move to DE. Start applying for jobs here when you're ready. Be honest about your situation (that you're coming from out of state), and try to schedule as many as you can within a weeks time period, and plan your trip to visit here at that time. Or of course , especially with Covid, you may have the option to complete your interviews solely via zoom. Once you've accepted employment, that bonus letter is as good as a paystub. I hope that helps.😊

My wife got a job in Wilmington, and we’re probably going to move there some time next year. (She’s going to be working remotely for the time being, and we’re going to move when and if the COVID situation gets safer.) I’m thinking of finding an apartment in New Castle or Newark. Living in Texas my whole life, I think it’s crazy you can live out of town and drive 15 minutes to work. It takes me 20 minutes to get to work, and I live and work in the same city!

Oh wow, yeah we are definitely much smaller than Texas, so your commute will be short and sweet! Congratulations to your wife on her new job too! With this crazy Covid situation, having a job that you can work from home is fantastic!
