    At 15:02 you moved the cursor, and when it stopped it turned into a hand. What controls the contents of that vertical ribbon? I have just upgraded to 23.0 and mine has only five icons. From another video, I think the third one down might lead to quick actions. At the moment, I can get to them via the help menu, but I have seen two other ways. When I try to follow the Adobe help info, it changes my photo!
    I think a video explaining the whole ribbon would be helpful. Thanks for your consideration.

    Anthony: A pretty descent summary, but I would suggest you also add the MAJOR changes to ACR which are also part of the Photoshop update, I found them to be rather significant versus the 'neural filter' set of changes. I agree with you, the selection tool update is pretty impressive but not perfect yet, but then it does leave something for us to do.

    I think Lightroom's update was the big story. I like Photoshop's Neural Filters but I think for a lot of them Adobe needs to spend time developing them because many seem half-baked. Also, Photoshop's selection tools are getting very good but still need improvement. I'm not sure I could totally rely on them. Anyway, I am happy with Lightroom's updates and know Adobe products will continue to improve.

    The only thing in the new release that really impresses me in the Photoshop release is the object selection tool, although there are some pretty cool updates for Lightroom! I very much enjoy your tutorials, you always seem to be discussing something that I was just wishing I knew how to do. One complaint, though, I miss the way you used to say Miiiisssster Photographer all drawn out.

    There is a problem with resizing. With the rulers on and you resize the photo does not resize according to the rulers. Tech support worked with me and said they would get back to me. The only way I could get the image to resize was change the ruler from inches to pixels and back to inches.

    A quick question concerning both the new Lightroom & Photoshop features. Imagine I used the subject or sky tool in lightroom one of my pictures it would create a mask, right? After making some adjustments in Lightroom I open the same picture in Photoshop would it recognise this mask or selection ?
    thanks.

    Anthony, I'm a bit more enthusiastic about this new release than you, but as you often say. to each his own. The Sky Replacement feature (which is not new to this release) has helped me turn some horrible, featureless gray skies into something very nice. BUT I think the Harmonize neural filter could help me balance the photo out. I can't figure out how to move from sky replace to harmonize. Can you help?

  • @DavidSwinney
    @DavidSwinney 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    While I agree that the presets offered in the Color Transfer neural filter are pretty meh, I can absolutely see using it to color grade an image to match another photo. I'm surprised that you didn't choose to illustrate that, Anthony.

    Hi Anthony. Have you discovered the bug in PS 23.0? I downloaded both LR 11.0, PS 23.0, and Camera Raw 14.0 on Tuesday. Yesterday I tried to take a photo from LR into PS using my usual method: right click on photo in LR and selecting Edit In PS 2022. Nothing happened. PS did not open. Tried taking it over using alternate methods, still nothing. After an hour on the phone with Adobe help, and with the tech trying many things in LR, he asked a fellow tech about this. He discovered that PS 23.0 brought with it a bug that won't allow taking a photo from LR into PS. Workaround was for him to delete the Camera Raw update. Amazingly, this worked and solved the issue. He then told me that Adobe is "aware" of the problem and is rushing out another update ASAP, whatever that means. Just curious if you've seen this on your computer. I'm on a PC running Win 10 on a relatively new and powerful computer.

      There is something else going on with your system because I updated all my Adobe software yesterday and I've had no trouble sending images from Lightroom to Photoshop. If this really was a bug a lot of people would be screaming about it by now but I'm not seeing anything about it on the forums.

That might sound like a silly question but it IS worth checking. :) If all of that IS the case, I am not sure why the colour changing option is not visible.
