Faithful to his King, and to his calling - There'll never be another voice like Norman Wilson's. Not in gospel music.. and certainly not one who so steadfastly claimed the good news of the gospel.
I dislike folks making up tales among 'gospel singers' like here 1944 is FALSE- I myself know he was born July 3, 1934, we knew each other since age 7. and graduated 1952 together. Many of same group are listing wrong dates of birth. One woman also high school classmate my age tells big lies about her bringing up age etc. she had more than most of us, studied music while Norman and i didn't have money in our families. The filer of video needs to know some fact, don;t copy data for they hide truth. He lived a long difficult life and i as a neighbor, school mate and still family live near, his wife is one of my older brothers d., claims ; wrong mother- who I have also known since i was 7. =We rode bus to school together and her mom was in my brothers class at Brevard high School. Her 3 younger brothers went to our primary school, older bro was step grand father to Jeff Tobert, here singing with all. Married to one of our classmates g. d.=God never helps lies to benefit any.=
I knew Norman for probably 40 years or more. Him and my father were really good friends and got together to sing when they had the time. Norman came and sang at my dad's funeral less than a month before he himself passed away. I totally agree, people will say or do about anything to seem connected. Me and Radford talked about this very thing many years ago. I remember when Furman quit singing with the Primitive quartet. So many people made up all kinds of nonsense about why he quit. It's sad really, the way people tell things.
