My pastor's wife used to sing this in our little church. I didn't know the McKameys sang the song. The first time I heard the McKameys sing it, I was so impressed. God bless them. They are from Clinton, Tennessee. I used to live there for about a year.

I wrote (The) God On the Mountain (Is Still God In the Valley) in January of 1985. I had attended a youth retreat at Glorieta Baptist Conference Center the previous summer and it was a "mountain top" experience. My commitment had to be walked out when I returned home. My parents fought day and night during the month of January of 1985. It interfered with my ability to study and sleep. But I had to trust that even then God would see me through the darkness. And the fighting did stop in early February.

I grew up in the Chuch of God. When the lady in the crowd felt the spirit, I felt it too. The hairs stood up on my arms. I believe in the power of worship and praising the Lord, even if that means screaming at how great he is.
My father sang this in church a few years ago when he was already sick from cancer. He sadly passed 8/8/23. I wish I could bring him back just to make him watch this exhilarating version of this song!

This was my mother’s favorite gospel group…she was at one of their concerts when she got very sick and ended up in the hospital..She had a gall bladder attack at the concert, rushed to hospital, emergency surgery, to save her life..found out she had stage 4 pancreatic cancer and only lived another 7 months..but listened to the McKameys all the time until she passed away.She was at their concert on the night of November 6th or 7th of 1988, the same year they recorded this live record. My mother passed in June of 1988. I am so glad she got to see them in person!

It has been a year since we lost our son, age 48, in freak gasoline explosion; he was such a doer and believer for and of his Savior, Jesus Christ. I have had to learn that the valleys in life can be extremely low and I already knew all about the highs of life. This song by The McKameys tells it like it is. I cry so hard when I hear the south in her voice it takes me back to my grandma's she was from duo west Virginia and had that thick faith and accent. I miss her sooo bad.
I've, in the past 3 months, been going through the lowest part of my life. You see I lost my husband of 41 years to a sudden heart attack here at home. He stayed up half the night....he had insomnia really bad, so I had no idea that he had died around midnight....according to the coroner. I found him about 9:00 the next morning. To say I've been in shock would be an understatement. I've always loved this song and I've always laughed along with her when I'd listen to it! This time I cried all the way through it. I know God has been with me and will bring me through it!!! I just need continued prayers of his people! The joy of the Lord is my strength!!
Let me put it this way to you all peggy is so full of faith and this is her testimony and the Spirit radiates from her to everyone that is what faith can do!!!

I wanted to die. 😮 I would drive our small, sports style car, on back roads as fast as I could, sometimes left of center, while listening to that song and a few others playing.😢 I praise God He didn't answer my prayer and kept me safe!! Timothy, I tell my kids. The Christian life is believing that Jesus really did die for your sin and he literally rose from the grave. You just live like these things are true because they are. There is a freeing spirit when we follow the Lord.

8-8-2022. This song never gets old. My mother used to sang this song when I was very young, let's say about 40 years ago. Sadly time is catching up with her and she doesn't remember this.
This song has helped bring me through some of the roughest times in my life. When I would have weakness in my faith id play this over and over . Thank you lord Jesus for carrying me through.
I saw this group in 1988. They are so anointed with the Spirit of God! My precious mother was 76 then, and she & Peggy were so much alike. She died in 1992, but I know she lives beside the “God On The Mountain” now.

I cry so hard when I hear the south in her voice it takes me back to my grandma's she was from duo west Virginia and had that thick faith and accent. I miss her sooo bad.
I've, in the past 3 months, been going through the lowest part of my life. You see I lost my husband of 41 years to a sudden heart attack here at home. He stayed up half the night....he had insomnia really bad, so I had no idea that he had died around midnight....according to the coroner. I found him about 9:00 the next morning. To say I've been in shock would be an understatement. I've always loved this song and I've always laughed along with her when I'd listen to it! This time I cried all the way through it. I know God has been with me and will bring me through it!!! I just need continued prayers of his people! The joy of the Lord is my strength!!
Let me put it this way to you all peggy is so full of faith and this is her testimony and the Spirit radiates from her to everyone that is what faith can do!!!

I wanted to die. 😮 I would drive our small, sports style car, on back roads as fast as I could, sometimes left of center, while listening to that song and a few others playing.😢 I praise God He didn't answer my prayer and kept me safe!!
