I own two and have had them for years. Both are in newish condition. One is from the 30s and the other is from 1952. In all the years i have had them i have had 0 problems, good reliability, and great accuracy. I do find the price these days mind boggling because i paid 29 bucks each at a pawn shop in the late 70s. A guy i was showing my collecto to a couple of months ago made an offer on them that made my jaw drop but they arent going anywhere. I believe yours is fro the 70s.
Just a few notes: - HKS makes the HKS 22-HR speedloader for it - To go along with the above, MakerShot makes a loading block that holds 5 reloads (45 rounds), which is great to preload and have ready to go, either in the field or at the range - When closing the action, it's probably a good idea to lift up on the Barrel Catch when doing so, to avoid adding wear to the catch mechanism.
Please note: Later model 999's have a hammer spring follower pivit made of plastic/nylon. This piece will break from age. I was able to find a used brass replacement online. Now the gun is perfect.
I had a H&R cousin to that model, and it was HORRIBLE. My model had a swing-out cylinder, not the tip-up cylinder/barrel. I left a review / cautionary post on your video about 3 companies that you do not like. {El Paso saddlery / Henry / S&W.} My H&R 9-shot sometimes did not even hit the primer hard enough to make the "spark". Plastic stocks. Hunk-o-junk. Better off using a Bow & Arrows.
Great little review. That thing is awesome! 22 lr Schofield style revolver. I was born in the wrong decade.
Glad you liked my review.
Cleaning one right now, it’s one of my favorite 22s. Typed in the model on TH-cam and now here 🍻
Hawaiian shirts forever
Yup

The Sportsman is a great top break 22 revolver. If you can find one, I recommend getting it. I have a 1981 model, and it's very accurate.

I have one. Bought it because of the cool factor of the top break. Double action trigger is definitely heavy. Fun plinker.

We definitely need to get you a better hat. What size do you wear?
Give her the hat back
She wasn’t using it lol
Love the hat
Since PSA owns H&R brand now.....
