    Good morning Daren and Johnetta. Thanks for taking the time to share your experiences with us. Do you notice any vibration while in your aft suite?

    • @DJTravels
      @DJTravels  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, very much so! We could always tell when the captain really pushed the engines. And there was some creaking and vibration sounds in the cabin. We put in earplugs when we slept and that seemed to counteract any negatives. So much so that we overslept the first night, and almost overslept on another night (room service breakfast saved us from missing an excursion).

    Hey D,
    Do they have formal nights on Regent cruises ? What do guys usually wear ?

    • @DJTravels
      @DJTravels  ปีที่แล้ว

      No formal nights. I never even bring a tie. If we are having dinner in Compass Rose or Sette Mari, I wear slacks and a button up shirt or polo. Johnetta weas capris or a skirt and a nice top. We usually step it up a bit when in one of the specialty restaurants; I add a sport coat and J will wear a dress or fancier skirt and top. You really don't need more than that!

    We are about to get on the Voyager soon, and I try to figure out whether there are power outlets next to the bed, (USB would be better, but...) like they have on the Mariner. Your video does not show any. Do I miss something?

    • @DJTravels
      @DJTravels  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s been awhile, but I do not remember outlets on the bedside tables. That may depend on the type of room though. In looking at the video, I can see outlets on the little vanity space on the right side of the bed. Also, on the left side, it is very close to an outlet in the sitting area. Sorry that I could not be of more help

    • @hapzfl
      @hapzfl 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@DJTravels Thanks for your input. You just confirmed what I saw. That's what I do not like at all. As far as I know the Mariner is older than the Voyager. The Mariner has it, but the Voyager does not, so it seems. I don't understand Regent in that respect. They pour a ton of money into very expensive art on their newest ship but forget about technical necessities on their older ones. I'd like to have my watch at bedside while charging it overnight. A smartphone could have joined that.

    Hi D and J. Thank you so much for another wonderful vid! Unless you were shooting footage at off hours, it looks like your cruise wasn't very crowded. Do you know what the capacity on your sailing was?...

    • @DJTravels
      @DJTravels  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because we were in a penthouse suite, and our status with Regent, we were able to board at 11:30 am. Most of this was shot while other passengers were still boarding. But, the ship was less than half full for this sailing, most likely due to the dropping of the Russian port.

    My wife and I aspire to go on a Regent cruise one day and love your videos. One question we have is, does the fare include everything, or are there many “extras” you end up spending on during your cruise?

    • @DJTravels
      @DJTravels  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching!
      Most things are included, and you can easily finish the cruise with no additional output of money.
      1. Alcohol is included. The only things you may pay for are very expensive brands. Since I drink things like Grey Goose, Tangeray, Knob Creek, etc. there was no additional cost. They always have a few wines included with meals, and those have always been fine for us.
      2. All food including specialty restaurants.
      3. Most excursions - there are usually a few that cost extra, but we are always find something to do that is included.
      4. Spa treatments (massages, nails, facial, etc.) are always an additional cost.
      5. No tipping.
      I hope that helps!

      Most of use filming tours are doing them when we first board (early boarding), or early in the morning, so that we are not intruding on other people. Does kind of present an abandoned atmosphere, I guess.

    Hello again. Especially enjoyed this vlog since we'll be on the Voyager in March, 2023 for a Rio to Miami tour which includes 3 days in Rio prior to sailing. Looks just like the Splendor which was our first Regent cruise...and where we met you guys. The ship looks empty but I would guess that since you're in port, most of the people are sightseeing. Enjoy the rest of your cruise.

    • @DJTravels
      @DJTravels  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most of this was actually shot on embarkation day. We had an 11:30 boarding time slot, so I was able to shoot most of the tour as others boarded. In addition, the ship only had 300 guests for this segment. The next segment was almost full and the service did suffer slightly.

    My wife and I have been on Navigator, Explorer and Mariner. We are booked for the Voyager (or as I call it “Veejer” - Star Trek reference) for June to Iberia and Grandeur through the Panama Canal in December. So our cruises are full. Nice tour. Looks like a beautiful ship especially for being an older one. Looks like a nice ship to relax on without all the glitz and glamour. Did you eat in Prime 7 yet? If so, how was the meal compared to on the Splendor? Looks like the Compass Rose would be pretty crowded during peak serving times. I think this ship would be good for a first time Regent cruise. Probably can go to ports the newer ships cannot go to. Seems like she has a very nice atmosphere on there as well.
