    FYI, there is a recall addressing the issue you found with this bike. I have a 2022 model and you're right, it's an issue with the MAP hose. The ECU scrambles up the air to fuel ratio due to some sort of blockage in the MAP hose and causes random stalls. The recall requires a dealer to replace the hose with a better one to avoid obstructions and this issue all together. I scheduled this recall work on Oct. 7th at my nearest Triumph dealer.

      Pinned! I looked everywhere to see if Triumph had issued an official fix so great to hear Triumph has issued a recall to fix it 🙌 I think with this issue sorted the bike overall is a great package 😃 happy and safe riding out there!

    I put the OEM round end mirrors on and they look fantastic. They have the Triumph logo on the back. You also then have no shoulder blocking your view. It adds to the retro aspect of the bike while giving you better visibility.

    Its not a build up of oil. During manufacturing the tube was difficult assemble to the MAP sensor so the workers used a grease they shouldn't have to help. This grease dried out and blocked the hose and sensor causing the stalling. It has been resolved.

      @@JamesCAsphalt8I had Recall work done.I had to ride 106km non stop to get there & used 4.8L per 100km on way there.
      After Recall work I noticed bike idled lower & didn't notice much more difference than that until I got home.I used 4.6L per 100km on way home & stopped for gas ⛽ on way home & riding was similar apart from stopping to get gas ⛽ on way home same route too.Took about 100mins to do Recall work & while I was there I got some Red Radiator fluid for Triumphs which can't get anywhere else cost me $40nz for 1L of premix.

    Gearbox gets better as kms build up.Quick shifter is the best mod for this bike.Changing down with quick shifter is sweet & upshift Quick shifter works better when rev it out it changes smoother above 5500rpm & great at 6500-7000rpm but you're be flying if you go to 7000rpm from 3rd-6th.The mirrors are geeat for visibility & I don't mind them.I got the Evotech tail tidy.I recommend you get Speed Angeles Scratch protection Antiglare stickers for dash.Triumph frame sliders
    (Crash bars)& bobbins for maintenance fir paddock stand.Powerbronze do a headlight protector which is 3mm plastic & is stuck on with 3m Velcro to remove to clean headlight & Triumph headlight costs $500 so Headlight protector is cheap to protect it.
    I have a 2023 LAMS model & never had any cut out issues.
    Perhaps put a 2022-23 part on it so it doesn't cut out.Fender extenders are great to keep bike cleaner & protect radiator & also get a Radiator guard.
    If haven't got Quick Shifter get one makes bike punch way above it's weight picks up quick & slows down fast & if some idiot pulls out in front of you you change down quicker.
    If you at home & park bike in chock & fill tank from tin the tank actually holds 14.4Liters & same if you straddle bike at gas ⛽ station just make sure to ues petrol bowser with no spills on ground.The manual says tank holds 14.4L when fill bike when level & 14L when on side stand & if filling level bike up to 2mm from bottom of filler tank as manual says don't fill past filler neck.
    Always leave at least 2L in tank treat that as empty so fuel pump,filters don't suck up sludge,grit etc.I get about 4.7Lper 100km & 4.9L going hard out per 100km & you'll get about 240km max with 2-2.4L left in tank.Seat is plush but you can get flash seat cover with gel pad from Taperzerria off ebay & high quality.

      I got the quick shifter when I bought my 2022 Trident and I have to say that athe bike shifts so smoothly with the clutch that often I don't even use the quick shifter. I find that shifting down with it is great however and your assessment is spot on.

      @@ashriffshnr I had the free Recall work done where they swap single air hose for 3 hole air hose apparently it clogs up on higher kms bikes.After Recall work I noticed that bike was more economical by 200ml per 100km & burnt fuel better before when idling could smell unburnt fuel but all sweet now.I also got the Ermax Nose fairing that is same colour scheme as bike & looks heaps better.

  • @TheKen24T

    I own a Trident 660 and it didn't show any 'stalling' issues until lately. I reported it to the dealer at it's 12-month service and I was told that it could be fuel. They also (quietly) mentioned that they had applied an ECU flash update. My bike is better and hasn't stalled since, but I do notice that there seems to be what I can only describe as some sort of 'vaccum' effect when coasting (throttle off) downhills? I think I got one of the first batch of bikes.

    • @jasondep
      @jasondep  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep it's pretty annoying ay, I've seen on the forums that the ECU flash update seems to be one of the fixes the dealerships recommend but yeah I think it's more of a bandaid fix because it seems the issue does lie with that rubber tube that feeds into the MAP sensor that Triumph isn't acknowledging for whatever reason 😕

    • @ruahinesrider
      @ruahinesrider ปีที่แล้ว

      Recall for Air intake hose & needs to be replaced free of charge at Triumph dealer where they replace hose & remap to fix problem.I haven't had any stalling or rough idle but only done 3200km.I don't want to take any chances & take my bike in on Friday for Recall work.I think 🤔 it's most bikes & heard bike runs better.

  • @Rubenenmoto

    I have Tiger 660 2023. Same issue. Took it to the dealer, he changed something and now almost never happens (almost)

    • @jasondep
      @jasondep  ปีที่แล้ว

      Dang, I think it must definitely be the design of the 660 engine that Triumph is utilizing in the Trident and other relating models that's causing the issue, sounds like whatever the dealer did was a bandaid if you're still experiencing the issue intermittently 😕 Keep us updated and ride safe!

    It has a perfectly flat torque curve, so amount of throttle=amount of acceleration throughout the rev range. It's like an electric motor but it you can shift it, and it sounds way better.

      When bike doesn't go into 1st pull clutch in & release & then try again.I occasionally have trouble putting bike into 1st from neutral just pull clutch in & release & it will go into 1st this is a common issue on all bikes.
      I love the self cancelling indicators on Trident 🔱 & if in town or going slow use the clutch which I use 75-80% of the time & get smooth upshifts every time & Triumph are known for clunky gearboxes so don't worry about that.

    How is this compared with a street triple 660 lams bro

    • @jasondep
      @jasondep  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In terms of riding performance, I would say it’s about the same - linear power, sharp handling, decently comfortable 😊 design wise, it would subjective. Triumph is known for the bug eye design with their street triples and I certainly don’t hate it myself but I do like the design of the Trident a bit better with the single headlight and the rear fender design from factory 😊

    I’d move. Did they neuter the price as well? For what reason would they do such a thing. A lowered power motorcycle would suck

    • @jasondep
      @jasondep  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Price wise, used examples go for just under $10K AUD, but brand new it's around $14K AUD 😅 But yeah not sure why the full power version isn't brought here by itself, however in saying that from what I've found online, the engines are the same between the two versions and that the power deficit is purely electronic and the restricted model can be derestricted 😊

    I bought mine new in 2021 great bike, its done 4000 kilometers in total. But one upset or issiue im unsure of is it ises oil. Does not leak but i habe to check it every month religiously. It can change from the top mark to the bottom . Ie, it will be fine for 3 weeks it wont move off the top mark them wamo its on the bottom mark on the dip stick. Im always topping up oil. There is a forum on this also. There is no way rhis bike can getvto a 16000 sevice interval on its on , no way. I ckean my chakn every 2 weeks , wash her every month and also tyre pressure etc. Love the bike its great . But the oil issiue 😢
