    I test drove the Venza, Crosstour, and Outback. I expected to get the Venza, but thought it felt very cheap inside and I didn't like the ride at all. My experience was different than the reviewer's. The Venza is quick straight ahead, but didn't handle well in turns at all. I much preferred the Crosstour and the 6 Cylinder Outback (the 4 cylinder is far too sluggish for me.). I ultimately went with the Crosstour. I've had it for two weeks and have enjoyed it so far.

    I got a brand new I4 Venza with several options for just over 26500 and love it. The Crosstour did have a better quality interior but the price with similar options was much higher than the Venza. Also, the Crosstour is a little strange looking, or "aesthetically challenged" as some other reviewer called it. Our second option was the Subaru Outback, which we would've bought, except it also suffers from the ugly duckling complex the Crosstour does. Overall, the Venza wins.

      And I bet that your Venza has been problem-free, I'm probably still worth around half you bought it for, I think they look great, even in base trim since you get the 19-inch Wheels, but especially the limited with the Pano

      @@nicholasbabeaux2052 Oh wow, a blast from the past! You'll be sad to hear that, unfortunately, our Venza was totaled in an accident back in 2015, with my then wife and my two kids in it. Airbags deployed and the front end was completely destroyed by an incoming Chrysler 300 that invaded our lane. Scariest moment of my life, but our Venza saved us. It's no understatement that I'll be forever thankful to that car. I'm now driving an '05 Honda Odyssey, but it doesn't feel nearly as safe as that Venza and it's certainly nowhere near as stylish. I do miss it.

  • @greasetown69

    @humaner With the rear strut housing moved further outwards than its crosstour counterpart, the more spacious venza allows for increased thrusting capacity and a more extensive position library. You are so right, different cultures have different ideas on what is attractive. Mazda is a great example with it's "clown face". The happy grill is their signature and they do their best to slap it on all their models. The RX-8 though did not need a happy face. They left the Miata alone I think because the original was designed in California with North American influence and they had to keep the styling cues that are iconic to that car. Interesting though how v3 looks more like v1 than v2 does

    It really nice to see the Stationwagon come back from near extinction. Smart ideal calling it a Crossover. Dont believe me well ok. A crossover is a vehicle built on a car platfrom and a Staionwagon is a body style variant of a sedan/saloon with its roof extended rearward. So stationwagons are crossover just an new. But dont be sad It a good thing.

    Personally I would like a much lower sitting Accord wagon or Camary wagon. But also most people feel safer in a higher sitting car because they are usually seen.
    But also if everyone wasn't driving SUVs then it wouldn't be a problem being seen in a smaller car.
    I drive a 240sx with a 2.25in drop and thats my biggest problem is people almost run over me ALOT and they are always driving SUVs. Oddly I've never had a pickup driver come close to hitting me nor a big truck.

  • @kawaihui
    @kawaihui 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think the crosstour is market for the 30's people, I'm 27 years old and I love it. SUV is too big for me, a sedan is too small for me, which the Crosstour is the perfect size to give me a steady ride with room for my tennis rackets and ball machine. The Venza is totally different type of car, it is more of the big SUV type of car, which may not be good for people who living in the city and look for parking on the street everyday.

      I thought these look great when they came out when I was in my early twenties, I still think they look good especially in limited trim with twenties and a panoramic sunroof, and they hold their value so well and thr V6 is just over six seconds to 60, faster than the RX350 of that year

  • @coolerdude44

    @EdwardianGangster basically, awd sends as much as 100% of torque to a single slipping wheel, whereas 4wd sends torque to the front or rear axles. 4wd is good for off roading, awd is good for on roading, neither is particularly good for handling (even the nissan gtr and mitsubishi evo tend to understeer)

      @nicholasbabeaux2052 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a good choice, but damned they hold their value, but rightfully so either engine is going to last forever, and the V6 is going to get you to 60 in like 6.3 seconds, hopefully you got it in The Limited trim with panoramic roof it just looks killer and makes the cabin so bright and Airy

    I think the Crosstour actually should have won that.
    The venza looks good, but it's somewhat boring because the back is very vertical. The honda has a slopy roof which makes it look really good while offering the same cargo room.
    And most people won't buy the rear entertainment system on the Venza so in terms of features, it's almost identical too. I think the Crosstour looks better... but it's just me.

  • @flexor212000

    The deal breaker for me is the tires/wheels and build quality for the Venza. While 19-20 inch wheels and tires sound cool on paper, the price of replacement is astronomical (only 1-2 tires in the class) and with AWD you must replace all 4 if one fails if other tires had significant use. Also the Venza is seeing really obvious build issues with consistent reports of dash warping and pieces not fitting right. Crosstour is ugly though.. I'd avoid both and get a CRV or something similar.

    Then, people were not so into large cargo capacity. Now they are. These will sell but $40K for the Toyota is crazy. You can just buy a Lexus RX for a bit more and have LOT MORE car.

    @GAMEOVER5917 great choice, but just an FYI from someone who works in the automotive industry, Toyota's are great cars but their build quality has dropped some over the years, although still above domestics. The only issue I have with Toyotas is their cheap suspension setup and their refusal to upgrade to multi-link and their very light steering, which any enthusiast will tell you is a bad thing.

    @WesleyConoway Can't argue with that. I do think the politics of marketing gets in the way though and a lot of cars are "uglified " so a lower end model doesn't look nicer than a more expensive version or just to look different. Or by trying to appeal to everyone, they appeal to no one, like taking the 6 most popular paint colors, mixing them together and you just get bland.

    Oh no no no no no. You are misinterpreting this Toyota issue. The majority of people in America would still say that they trust foreign cars over American cars, as any consumer survey would surely tell you. Toyota has lost a lot of cred, but you took it way to far.

    I don’t care if the Honda is better looking, shit everyone knows Toyota is really reliable. I’m going to put my money where it lasts thank you very much.

      See if you feel that way in a couple years. Crosstours still getting great reviews, venza owners looking to unload their pos. Tranny nightmares among other things

    The Venza is not based on the Camry, if I remember correctly.

      It's basically part Camry, part Highlander, and partly original underneath. Drives like a sienna minivan too 😂. Frankenstein machine. Toyota used to be fun like that. But yeah the chassis was pretty much a Camry.
