Feel light as it flows
And
Can't hide the fact that we're both here,
Don't let it go, we're so scared,
(Runnin' rampant round town with my head in the ground)
(But that's just s-u-p-p-o-s-e how it's suppose to be)
(Me in the trunk making audible thumps)
(And we break and we dip and we crash and we fly)
(But it's not really a big deal, I'm a tolerable guy)
(In the age of piss when the old man whistles)
(Yeah I'm late, but don't remind me of our separate pistols.)
(I'm ballistically drunk, I'm a triumphant lump)
(I'm an instant glow ball coffee syrup florist filled gunk)
(That beat is mystically drunk, I'm a triumphant lump)
(I'm an instant glow ball coffee syrup de clog your gunk)
(De clog your gunk,)
(Gunk, drunk, gunk, drunk.)
It's only funny in the back side of love
Well I won't let it break my self-esteem,
It's only funny in the back side of love
(Move on, I caught you instantly.)
(Move on, you stomping elephant.)
But I'd hate, to say no.
When it comes to those beautiful blue eyes.
And I'd hate, to say no,
When it comes to those beautiful fuckin' eyes.
Hold on girl, I promise that we'll have it all,
Hold on girl, I promise that we'll have it all.
(Hello I will talk to you, I have some things to go over with)
(Are you mad?)
(Or spectacular?)
(Yes, yes so so so so fifi fifi)
(Yes but my face has been melted)
(Hello? I will talk to you)
(Are you mad?)
(Or spectacular?)
It's only funny in the back side of love
Well I won't let it break my self-esteem,
It's only funny in the back side of love
(You've got loud as fuck sighs)
(You know how to fake cry)
(You've got that ostrich beak that's lowering your skill in sneak)
(You got you got you got me.)
Out of all of Jonny's choruses, this one takes the cake. His powerful voice, the melodic guitars, the epic drumming.. everything flows fucking perfectly.
I think his choruses sounded better in DBM1. This is probably one of his better ones from this album (as I think were overall kinda weak, but with some sweet spots (Pounce Bounce!!! ^~^)), but I'll take his DBM1 performance any day.
David Pottinger
I think DBM1 as a whole outshines this album no doubt. This chorus though, I can't get over it.
+Man Whore Indeed. I love the whole flow of it. The guitar, drumming, and his voice.. Just fantastic. 😊
Huge DMB1 fan here but I have to agree. This one definitely matches the best choruses from the first album; my favorites probably being Turn Off The Lights I'm Watching Back to the Future and Antlion.
In saying that, DMB2 is pretty hit or miss for me... some songs are absolutely amazing (including this one), whereas some are just plain awful imo. But even so, Jonny Craig could produce an album of him singing the fucking phone-book and I'd pay to listen.
@@davidpottinger9511 I love this and pounce bounce. Spooks is great too.
Songs like these set DGD apart from every other act signed to Rise.
Albums**
im convinced this band is an experiment meant to see how many fans a band can garner with good instrumentals, good vocals, and the most ridiculous fucking nonsense lyrics possible (also: i love them)
^ Primus
Truuuyyyyyyyyyyhvfkj
This song is absolute perfection on every level. Goddamn I love when Swan raps.
He's a tolerable guy :]
The opening and closing riffs to this song are some seriously next-level riffs. Will Swan was on another plane writing this album.
Soul, Screams, and now RAP....
But Dance Gavin Dance makes it all fit so perfectly together that I could just listen to this forever...
Every time i'm on shuffle and this song comes on for some reason I picture Jimmy from South Park trying to say the song title.
Made me laugh a little hard
+Hauntsy Wauntsy lmfao
This is such a beautiful fucking comment. Jesus Christ.
Woah, I need to see this!!!!!
well that just ruined my life.
This chorus gets stuck in my head for days... These guys are so talented!
The chorus for this song is ridiculously amazing
Mingus’ feet and that dual attack guitar.. 🤟🤟
If Jonny only ever sang the chorus on this song he would still be a legend to me. The way that chorus riff and drum beat mesh with Jonny's lines is beyond words honestly.
This whole album is great
I'll never forget how happy I was when this album dropped
RIGHT I LOVE THIS ALBUM
It was Senior Skip Day and I drove a town over to snag my copy. Such a great memory. I was so psyched.
They don’t make music like this anymore it’s so sad
best underrated song imo
2:00-2:30 is just amazing.
Did you mean 0:00 - 3:56 ? Lmaooo
Any band can just play power chords and bang their heads. DGD brings a whole new level of musicianship, kinda like Incubus did a decade ago. I can't wait to see these guys go far!
Immediately thought of incubus when I heard this the first time
I'm so in love with the chorus riff, man.
1:21 is really the only reason I like this song, I could listen to this part on repeat forever, it sounds so sad but it also feels like I’m falling in love, like you feel love and sadness at the same time
That 2 minute mark breakdown makes this slapper wym
still bumping this 🥲
Everyday
One of the most underrated songs of DGD, imho.
1:22 is my favorite part of the song. Not just the amazing vocals, but just the way the band flows together. I love DGD.
"I hate to say no when it comes to those blue eyes" that is the part that gets me all over again even though I have brown eyes x)
+Cassandra Ruiz That part caught me offguard so much during the first listen
+Destamoon haha yeah I know right?
+Cassandra Ruiz yasss boo lol that line reminds me of someone
I forget what song on Royal Ocean, but he says brown eyes in one of them
I love those lyrics because in the previous song's outro, Jonny calls his girlfriend (presumably very early on the AM) and asks her the color of her eyes in a sort of dickish way.
You can surmise he's singing directly about/to her.
You know he must've gotten some good ass off this lol
gotta love how he asked the girl what color her eyes were and sounds so sincere about her beautiful blue eyes hahaha
Those beautiful blue eyes 💔
This song makes me cry... personal reasons. Long story too. It's hard listening to this song even now. 2015/16 was a rough year.
Same dude. Hope you’re well now!
My girlfriend died July 2nd.. of 2022. Shit my birthday is July 17th. We met January 28th 2021. She showed me so many new songs.. so many memories that we created with the music she had plating in gne background as we smoked bowls on our car rides in the back roads of VA.
I fucking miss you Alicia Tines, shit I'm sitting here commenting on every song we've connected too.. by leaving comments in hope you'll read these one day.. you'll come back. I'm lost without you baby girl.
RIP. I hope she gets this message, brother
@@ryanaccount3591 thank you bro.
Matt's guitar playing & Jon's Vocals bring life to each and every DGD song.
its me or the drumming at 2:30 changes from a metal rythm to some kind of reggae rythm
cause if im not wrong with that then DGD is a genius cause they mix two different genres in one song and it sounded perfect!
It's DGD man, they put everything inside a blender.
It changes to some Latin drumming. You can find that type of beat in Spanish songs everywhere and there's actually a name for the beat, I just can't remember
Reggaeton
MUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUITO BOA! MUITO MESMO, SENSACIONAL PARABENS
@Henry Galhardo melhor vocalista que DGD já teve, irmão!
A song defines my college/navy years
Man.. I would KILL for a Colab album Polyphia feat. Jonny Craig and Will Swan
That's a sexy idea.
Joshua McCart dude I would die from mental, sexual, spiritual experience if that happened
Gonna bump this
Agreed, if not, definitely with CHON
Oh fuck no! I'm just a human being!
the chorus. woah.
this is by far my favorite song on the album. i could listen to the outtro nonstop for the rest of my life
How on God's Earth has this song not hit atLEAST a million views. The old dgd with Kurt or Johnny (I absolutely love tillian too) , has been number one as far as what I listen to, since I was 13 and I'm 22 now. Nobody is like dance Gavin dance. Nobody not a single fucking band. I literally fucking love you guys. I have a sick thing about Kurt Travis tho.
Probably in my top 5 ever if not top three ot just plain the tip top number one..
jeez, these guys...I swear, their songs should never have endings...
holy shit I live for 1:19
best part of a dgd song imo
its not really a big deal, I'm a tolerable guy
Hey!
Tolerable Guy lololol
Everything DGD has done from day 1 has been pure gold.
One of the best songs maybe ever
"Feel light as it flows
And
Can't hide the fact that we're both here,
Don't let it go, we're so scared"
man I love this songthis will forever be my favorite band
Lmao when the rap started I thought another app on my phone started playing something
''And I wont let it break my self-esteem''
If only Johnny had his shit together… this era of DGD is unmatched. Will snapped in this.
Agreed bro. I'm 24 and beyond saddened that I wasnt old enough to appreciate them while active.
Get this song to a million views!! It deserves it
Done 🥳🎉
Damn I wish I was 17 in 2011 listening to this on repeat, but here I am 17 in 2019 which isn’t a bad thing either. At least I’ve got easy access to the song now
Same here!!
You were atleast pretty damn late. I was 14 and didn't find them until just after Jonny left and I wasn't a big Kurt fan at first.
stuff like this proves that progressive math rock is one of the best genre of music to trip balls to haha
hell yeah
sad their new albums cant compare to stuff like this:(
Jose Guzman ur right, all of dgds discography including this is better
dank I second that, amen
doe!
NOSTALGIA. Some people would call this song a good song, but in Brazil we'd say it is UM HINOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
Lacrou
@@BasedGuilherme sim mana
Dance Gavin Dance.
2 things that made me fall in love w/ them.
1. The radical sound of their guitars, Idk what it is it just sounds cool.
2. Beautiful voices, preferably Jonny over Kurt.
(:♥
i'm addicted to this song
Frikin LOVE the chorus!
1:22 Hell yes
name one reason 1:23 isnt one of dgds best choruses
ที่สุดของแดนซ์
yet again dance gavin kills another genre! hip hop. they are modern day RHCP
I miss you
No I don't. It was all a lie
I miss you too baby
Relationshits for ya.
This song is why I am learning to play guitar, it's almost as amazing as Jonny's voice. :)
fave
Easily my favourite DGD chorus of all time
Honestly one of THE best songs off the album! Thumbs up if you can't stop constantly replaying this song!
this chorus is unbelievable!
That will swan 2 minute mark breakdown is always so sweet.
IMO this is the best song on the album. Not sure why so many people dislike the rap part. To me it's tastefully done and it adds an interesting element to the song.
I dunno how to feel about this one. Its fire but that outro in Blue Dream sounded very real and very aggressive and yet if I was the chick this song was about, I'd feel honored...
I love the goofy smile on will's face in the pic at 2:20
Love ur hair!
one of their greatest
Ive been stuck on this song for the last week. Im officially addicted :D
fell in love within the first few seconds
you can tell johnny just went in and threw down some random vocals, its still awesome and my favorite dgd album
Agreed. Self-Titled and Happiness were both excellent, and by far, the most progressive chapters for Dance Gavin Dance as a whole band.
Love this albums, Sac State on Thursday much? I'm pumped, hometown show
Favorite song from this album (:
i dont care about any of the bands personal issues. i just love the music.
sooo good.
i love the intro!
ILOVE DANCE GAVIN DANCE
DAMN!!! I LOVE THIS!
Song change from 1:17 to 1:47 is the best freakin part of the song. I LOVE IT. I Rape the song replay button just to hear that part. If I would've never found out about this band IDK what stupid crap i'd be listening to right now. DGD
Oh my god i think im in love
After rocking out to this song
After the ear sex.
I realized...
That I have no idea what the hell this song means.
You stomping elephant
Their guitarist writes such fun riffs.
This song + LSD = good time
all thier music is great on acid. thought i was the only one.
Anthony Quinn hell nawww dawg, people that typically dont listen to this genre were trippin with me and said how vibein it is.
i was eating ten strips listening to this at the age of 17...smoking grips of cannabis....this shit means so dear much to me..brings me back to my spun head and in tillians words " i just want to be a kid again"
a lot of homies were....catch up with me on ig - inf.int303 i was eating strips of owsley paper and liquid smoking grips of loud back when this came out....i had an orgy high on e with skrillex and the this playing in the back round.. true story.
+malcolm parker this isnt tillian singing
"runnin rampant round town with my head in the ground"
"move on, you stomping elephant"
tyke elephant outlaw?
I think I remember watching that shit on the news when I was younger so these lyrics really stand out to me
This song + All = Good
jon mess kills it in this albulm
simply amazing! :)
"Runnin' rampant round town with my head in the ground,
but that's just s-u-p-p-o-s-e how's it supposed to be,
me in the trunk making audible thumps.
And we break and we dip and we crash and we fly,
but it's not really a big deal I'm a tolerable guy.
In the age of piss where the old man whistles,
yeah I'm late but don't remind me of our separate pistols."
I always rap with Will on this part.
great band
Like...am I even worthy to listen to this music? Damn.
well we finally got it guys =p . ill be blasting this on my way to work tommorow
Great song
@coraline12341 RHCP are the masters of blending da funk wit da rock
I always expect swan soup to play after this song finishes.
1 of the only songs i like from them.
Yo that country pet resort inn commercial had some tasty blues in it holy shit
Anyone still obsessing over this album in 2024?
Dance Gavin Dance for life.
It's only funny in the back side of loveee
