Si hay algo por lo que vale la pena vivir esta desastrosa y caótica vida, es por la Música Händeliana, desearía no morir sin escuchar todo su repertorio..., es infinitamente bellísimo...Gracias por compartirlo.
How _anyone_ can put _any_ countertenor in the same sentence with the otherworldly, exquisite art of this amazing singer is far, far beyond my imagining…..their sound by definition is absolutely counterfeit, an affectation, and to my ears, as ugly sounding as the few castrati I’ve listened to.
What a deep emotion! This is a very moving Handel's aria and Sabine's voice is so pure, clear and sensitive! There is an extraordinary intimacy. The idea of combining this piece with the allegories of arts is genial, the paintings wonderful. Thank you so much, dear Jeffrey, you made my day.
It is one of my favorite voices. Another very good choice dear friend Jeffrey. Have a nice weekend!
Hay dos sopranos que me tienen enamorado: Desandre y Divieilhe. Ambas son de otro mundo. Sus voces trascienden la técnica, son de una belleza sobrehumana y tan emotivas que te llegan dentro.
So very beautiful, dear Mr. Stivers. Best wishes from your music-friends in Germany !! - In these days WE HUMANS really can be thankful for such a wonderful "Trostpflaster" (consolation), with which you provide us again and again. Thank you so much !!
This music soothes the soul, mind and heart. ♬🕊As always, your upload is a feast for the eyes and ears. Thank you very much, dear Jeffrey, and have a wonderful week!
This is beautiful from a rarely preformed oratorio. I had the privilege of seeing this oratorio in Christ Church Cathedral ,Dublin. I have always adored it. Thank you for the upload.
This is divine! Thank you. Her voice luxuriates in the slower than usual tempo. I love how she comes in a bar early for the da capo section in order to give space for that fabulous crescendo, something she also does in the recording mentioned below. I always feel sympathy for the lead violinist in any performance of Trionfo, having to follow Corelli, the greatest violinist of the age who played at the first performance, must feel a little intimidating. You can see Sabine in a live recording of the complete work directed by Emmanuelle Haim on the Euro Arts channel - Part I: th-cam.com/video/Ce6sDo5lyDQ/w-d-xo.html Part II: th-cam.com/video/z8IeOCdDGYI/w-d-xo.html The production is unusual to say the least, inspired by Derrida's notion of cinema being a ghostly spectacle. There is an interview with Derrida in the interval, which does help!
I played the whole oratorio the day my mother died so the final aria in it will always be associated with her.The work also contains the equally beautiful "Prendi la rosa lascia la spina"(Take the rose avoid the thorn) which Handel also included in his opera "Rinaldo" to the words "Lascia che io pianga"(Let me weep)I think the tune is in the form of a slow sarabande dance which Handel introduced in his early German language opera "Almira."
Sublime! Jeffery, your vids never disappoint. May I also please ask a favour, if you can kindly do a vid of Sabine singing Un pensiero nemico di pace?☺️
Thank you. I have a rather long wish list of arias I hope to make into videos eventually, and this one is already on the list. Ever since the pandemic, I work ahead on videos, so I have the next couple months' worth done and uploaded to TH-cam. I then publish one each Saturday.
That painting is An Allegory of Poetry by Auger Lucas (1685-1765). All I can make out is "Homere," which I assume is referring to the famous Greek poet Homer.
I select music for a variety of reasons, but almost never because I'm proposing it to be the best interpretation of a given piece. I am very fond of Sabine Devieilhe, and in this instance I was promoting her new recital disc. I absolutely adore Maria Keohane, and I have a video of her singing a Bach aria on my channel.
Une douceur infinie qui nous vient du Ciel et du❤
I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Wonderfol Voice
I’m very fond of her singing, and she is well represented on my channel.
Stunning. Handel at his most eloquent and what a wonderful voice plus the instrumental playing matches it all perfectly. Superb
Indeed. I am very fond of her singing. I'm glad you enjoyed it. This appears on an outstanding recital disc which I highly recommend.

Sublime. Superbly sung. Lovingly directed ensemble. The sentiment, too, is pure Handel. One of his best.
Indeed. I’m glad you enjoyed it.
I’ve heard a number of people sing this, including countertenors. This is the most beautiful version I’ve heard.
I’m fond of her singing, and this is certainly very beautiful. I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Which countertenors?

Splendida aria, Splendidi dipinti. Purtroppo ahimè la bellezza è riservata a pochi. E il languore dell aria lo testimonia. Grandioso Haendel.

Why did you choose this interpretation? Not bad, but in my mind, this aria fits better with the voices of Maria Keohane or Julia Lezhnava( in 2015)
