    Had mine for a couple years now and I really like the unit for providing heat in my workshop shed. The only downfall with these units is that butane canisters need to be above freezing to maintain pressure. You need to warm up a canister in order to make sure they will provide gas, or can spend a bit more for Isobutane which can stay gas to around -11 while regular butane is about zero.

    I think it means for people NOT to roast wieners directly on the heater rack.... nor attempt to cook a burger directly on the heater rack. They sent the accessory piece so food can be cooked in a pan ATOP the heater.

    That extra grill that comes with these heater may not be for cooking but to raise the heater off the ground to prevent heater related issue.

      it’s a stencil and stability for the maximum sized pan recommended as to avoid overheating of the butane canister.. awesome little unit.. cheers

    I am currently using a mr buddy heater but it's hooked to a 20 pound tank outside which is the most economical way to go at 17 dollars a fill. But i been wanting to get one if these just as a back up emergency use in case I'm it out of propane, i always have those butane cans around. Thanks for the video. I once had an 18 thousand btu mr buddy but when i ran that my eyes always had a burning sensation so i tossed it. Wish i got my money back for that.

    Great video! Mine arrived today and in the instructions it doesn’t quite tell u how to ignite; if it wasn’t for your video I would have sent it back! Thanks!!Oh and p.s. I think wanted to warn about carbon monoxide not co2 thanks again

    I'm in Canada just bought the Martin one, yes $78,cheaper than the Mr. Buddy. I've seen a video on one that hooks to propane and it's butane. Neat it folds to the top. The Martin one doesn't. And says 5800 btu's. Can't wait to try it and review. Butane in Canada is #4 cans for 10.99 I better head to China town!!

    I believe the grill is for a pot of water to boil off steam to replenish moisture back in due to the heater drys out the moisture

    • @wcampbell1502
      @wcampbell1502 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      wood stoves create air dryness, the burning of propane and butane as an open flame actually produces moisture in the air. but it is for a pot, and you can heat up water for coffee tea cup a noodle soup ect.

    I bought the same item, but was green in colour. Cost roughly $45. Works really well, but eats gas cans. Great for an emergency heater, used it in my old camper and large tent without issue. Have slept with it on, and the auto shut off kept me safe when the gas ran low.

      @Iridium242  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah I heaed that as well, they SAY it lasts 2 hours on a can but I found if you put it on high its about an hour and 20 mins. Good enough to get warm in a pinch, but I still have my mr buddy if I need it :)

      @@SěmtêxČØŴv2.0 hi may I ask as I received one today initially I bought it hoping could use it indoors. Then I thought no seems maybe I can't. Then I thought I send it back. Then I started musing about building an outdoor pergola and using it as a patio heater type of thing but it was fine in your camper . Maybe I can start getting to grips with trying this indoors ?

    Warning:::: Put one in the passenger seat of my work van to knock the chill off while the engine warms up this winter. The second time I used it, it burts into a fire ball while at a red light. Fortunately, I was able to open the door and push out. Best of luck.

    You can heat open cans of soup, heat water in kettles etc, but not a steak or something due to leaking into the " open flame " which can become a fire hazard. I'm more concerned about how I want to use it in my tent 😅😅

      I purchased this type of stove 3 yrs ago . Same price in US $ thru Ebay. I stocked up on Butane because of the low cost of the fuel for emergencies.
      Mine arrived color black, no attachments... 1.3kW. It says for camping,caravaning,boating and at home. Strangely, it states on the side of the box. For Outdoor use in well ventilated areas. I have used the butane stove for the past 30 yrs. No problem with using this fuel. Nice to know exactly how to use it. Thank you!
