I had to crack up when you said you next time you were going to bring a gallon size bag and fill it up with mac and cheese! Years ago, that was common practice amongst the seniors that went to the buffets in AC. First time I saw it was back in the late 80's at the buffet at Resorts. This older couple actually was filling up a thermos with soup, and putting shrimps in plastic bags! Another time was about 5 years ago at the Borgata Buffet. This older couple had an entire method. The husband would sit at the table as the wife would go to the buffet tables. On one of her trips she came back with rolls and slices of prime rib. She made about 10 sandwiches and wrapped them in tin foil that she had folded and took out of her purse. They had a big Macy's shopping bag on the floor. The sandwiches went into the bag. Her next trip she came back with plates of various food, and this food when into tupperware containers she whipped out of the Macy's bag. OK, desert time, now she went up and came back with tons of cookies and cakes. Those went into plastic bags she whipped out of her Macy's bag. Now it was time for coffee. They sat a the table and the waitress brought over two cups of coffee. This time the husband went up and got some deserts. They sat at the table and ate the deserts and drank their coffees. I happened to notice several men and ladies in business attire kind of standing around. As soon as the couple finished their last sip, and started to stand up and gather their Macy's bag, these people surrounded the table. One of them asked the couple what's in the bag. They then made them take everything out of the bag, open the packages and place them on the table. Then a few security guards came and escorted them out. Later that day, I saw them at Harrahs.
OMG that's hilarious! They made two big mistakes: 1) They were greedy. I'm sure if they asked if they could take cookies or a slice of cake to the room or back home the buffet would oblige. But that sounded like a family reunion dinner! 2) The Macy's bag. There are no Macy's in Atlantic City or in the area in general. They came prepared but not the correct way. A local shopping bag or even a duffel bag would have been better (not that I have experience). I can't blame management for stopping them, if not, everyone would do it and the price would sky rocket. I don't know if Ocean Resorts and Casino Hotel in Atlantic City New Jersey has a buffet but if it does would you please review that or if they have any restaurant there I would like to see what they have to offer. Before the Virus Attack 2019 we were staying in Brigantine my wife didn't want to go to HRC left her cards home so I said go inline and get replacements cards. She got new cards and a 2 Comps for the Harvest Buffet and so did her sister.

This place has good food, I come with my Daughter and 4yr old Granddaughter. This place has choices for everyone to enjoy. I visit AC about 5 times a year and I always visit the buffet at least once during each visit
I ate there last summer. The buffet had a limited menu and I was not allowed to actually walk up to the buffet ( because of Covid restrictions ) the server had to take down what you wanted off a menu they provided. So the poor guy was running back and forth for myself and a few others he was responsible for. I tipped him $20 because I felt sorry for him doing all that running 🏃♀️ good to see it’s open again to walk up and check it all out and SERVE YOURSELF!!! Good is very good 👍

Jeff, have you ever been to S'mac in the East Village and ate the mac and cheese there? It's the best! I have never had better mac and cheese anywhere else. That's all they serve, just all different flavors of mac and cheese but you can order a sampler meal so you get to try each flavor. If you have never been there then I highly recommend you eat there and would be even better if you decided to make a video of it! I would love that!

I think I sat at the same table during my visit there Jan 2022. The price was $34.99 now. I went to Borgata Buffet the night before. I was walking by and saw this buffet and was on the fence, but decided to check it out. The selections were okay, not amazing. The prime rib tasted like it had been sitting under the heat lamp for hours. That was some sad pizza. I grabbed the canolis, but was too full to wait for a crepe. Crepe station is at least unique. Everything else was standard. Like I said I went to the Borgata buffet the night before, which never disappoints. For $3 more, it is far superior. It was comped, which made it better. Borg buff is always mandatory when in AC. Thanks for grabbing the bread, pizza, mash potatoes and fries and other low cost items. It helps keep the buffet from raising its price when I come to town and hit the big ticket items.

U missed the soup. Its next to the prime rib in those cauldrons. Every time I've went it's been beef tortellini, and one of the best items. Was just there last night, definitely the best item is the mac and cheese
Enjoyable video interesting. I went once there with free comp but I don't like buffets. I don't like the mix up of various foods and how much can you eat? I taste a little of most all but the quality is never that good. The pizza looked gross soggy. Besides that pizza mush it was good that the food was fresh and at a good temperature for safety, a plus. The best thing about buffets are the desserts that are very good. Enjoyed watching the video.

Great video and a nice little change from your usual ones. The food looked good on camera, but it seems like the flavor and freshness were lacking on some of those foods, especially that floppy pizza.

Food is pretty decent here, wish they had a little bit of a bigger selection when it comes to seafood being down the shore. I'm glad to see they are back open with serve yourself compared to the wait staff grabbing the food for you from a menu. I went before the pandemic and it was pretty good, during the pandemic when they served you wasn't good (I guess I like to pick my food when it comes to buffets). Also it felt like you were VERY rushed and it took forever for our waiter to come and get our orders and then serve us. Honestly it's not a bad price compared to the other sit down restaurants at Hard Rock and its really the best buffet on the Boards (considering it's the only one that's open nowadays even in the city, Borgata is the only other one that is open). I'm going down in a few weeks and I might just go there again to give it another shot considering my favorite restaurant won't be open the days I'm there (shout out to Amada at Ocean).
They were all closed during COVID. A few (like Hard Rock here) opened with no worries about COVID. However, most hotel and casinos choose not to reopen because they have become to costly and hard to staff. They have all switched to food courts and leased restaurants. I noticed in most buffets that you review you always had for the Asian food section and you order the same things and you make just about the same comments. You say general Tao's chicken is always mushy or Asian chicken the way it's prepared is always mushy you don't like the eggs in your rice okay we got that you always get a nice big honking plate of lo mein. How about trying some different types of foods and passing on what you usually get?
I must be in the minority here but I actually like to start with the salad bar at a buffet and sometimes a soup as well. Hard Rock's salad bar tastes good too and is definitely worth eating next time.
I'm not much of a buffet person unless I get there when they first put the food out because it's too many people handling the utensils she. with Covid still out, people over the food with no mask so it's a no on the buffet for me.

@@NuYawk #1 nothing was seasoned. Ribs, prime rib and Korean ribs were basically to dry to eat. The boiled shrimp was okay, and the Old bay shrimp okay. But the fried chicken, soaked in oil..and it was like eating in an old folks home. Not your fault..just terrible quality.
Been to this buffet many times and let me tell you, its the worst set up ever. The line doesn't move, its very disorganized. The food is ok for as good as buffets go and the price is about average.

Yes I do not do buffets… same reason others handling utensils and I would be cleaning my hands between each plate. I am too much of a germs phobic.
Seems that they’ve raised the price to 40 now. I went in April and it was 34.99. Not worth it. Nothing is seasoned.

Mohegan sun used to have the best buffet on the east coast. Coved. Change that no more buffet
They were all closed during COVID. A few (like Hard Rock here) opened with no worries about COVID. However, most hotel and casinos choose not to reopen because they have become to costly and hard to staff. They have all switched to food courts and leased restaurants. @@NuYawk Foxwoods and Mohegan have a hard time getting help also. I stay at the Hard Rock. And the Tropicana. Love the boardwalk. Food outside is great. Even the hot dogs
the plantains are shameful looking, a light fry press dip in garlic peper and salt wash, refry a couple of seconds, crunchy on the outside soft and super flavorful inside.
probably hard for a buffet to go through the extra steps so they make them like chips, alot of places do that now.

I noticed in most buffets that you review you always had for the Asian food section and you order the same things and you make just about the same comments. You say general Tao's chicken is always mushy or Asian chicken the way it's prepared is always mushy you don't like the eggs in your rice okay we got that you always get a nice big honking plate of lo mein. How about trying some different types of foods and passing on what you usually get?

I must be in the minority here but I actually like to start with the salad bar at a buffet and sometimes a soup as well. Hard Rock's salad bar tastes good too and is definitely worth eating next time.

I'm not much of a buffet person unless I get there when they first put the food out because it's too many people handling the utensils she. with Covid still out, people over the food with no mask so it's a no on the buffet for me.

I usually record with a GoPro (that's what was used here). I have all types of attachments but prefer not to use them unless absolutely necessary. The clip-on usually results in a policeman body cam effect! Thanks for the tip and for being a subscriber gorymarty56!

@@NuYawk #1 nothing was seasoned. Ribs, prime rib and Korean ribs were basically to dry to eat. The boiled shrimp was okay, and the Old bay shrimp okay. But the fried chicken, soaked in oil..and it was like eating in an old folks home. Not your fault..just terrible quality.

Been to this buffet many times and let me tell you, its the worst set up ever. The line doesn't move, its very disorganized. The food is ok for as good as buffets go and the price is about average.
