If you get sub-60 fps FSR is ok, but if you have some wiggle-room then I very much recommend not using it. In case people are curious, the commands are r.fidelityFX.FSR3.enabled 0, r.fidelityFX.FSR3.QualityMode 0, r.fidelityFX.FI.Enabled 0 I use the Lily Tweaker mod (server has it) to auto-run them
That's how I feel, if the cosmo could scare away nameless it would be the only charge pet anybody would ever tame, at that point you would straight up be nerfing yourself if you tried to use a shinehorn in the blue zone instead of a cosmo. Plus if you could use the cosmo in every biome the same way you used it in the green zone then it would actually just break aberration, there needs to be some reason to explore these biomes on foot
I legit have been egg hunting with nothing but haz gear and a cosmo. it is absolutely broken in every way shape or form. you get all the mobility of a tek suit with all the bennies of flak, ghillie, etc. i love it, but it is so far from balanced.

I play official on ps5 and Im fine after the patches they been doing. Nothing crazy and definitely not skipping like how syntac has it ! And I live in blue which is beautiful
The cryopod restrictions allow us most of the convenience of cryopods without losing most of the risk in Ark. If Cosmo was a proper light pet, no one would ever use the original four light pets. We also ask about settings because the settings were not in the episode descriptions or comments for the first few episodes of the Center, so they may be the same but we couldn’t find those to begin with. Respectfully, I disagree. I play PVE, and I like the cryopod restrictions. Risk creates stakes which make things interesting. You can do what you want on your own server, but my friends and I enjoy the strategy that having to follow rules encourages. And cosmo is obviously useful. The ability to fling yourself around the map like Spider-Man, faster than anything except possibly a rock drake, is incredible. However, if it also gave charge, it would invalidate 4 existing creatures. As it is, cosmo is a trade between safety and speed. You can outrun the nameless and reapers on cosmo but not fight them. I think plenty of people will use it to steal eggs and farm surface drops, but it isn’t great for taming or any other activity that requires you to be in one place at a time. Ultimately it probably should have been on a different map, but it’s certainly not useless. Most game designers would say that having one item/creature/skill that overshadows all of its competitors is bad for game design because it stifles choice and reduces player engagement and strategy. This is why creatures have pros and cons; some will be more popular than others, or course, and some will need course corrections as time goes on; but it’s ultimately better for the health of the game. However, if you want one creature to do everything, the mod community has you covered. I would be stunned if there was not already a mod that makes cosmo a traditional light pet.
@francisweller839 it's terrible game development on the devs side and shows they lack the skill to balance pvp and pve separately. Ark is already challenging enough without the devs adding unnecessary restrictions that makes cryo pods useless in pve because they're too lazy to separate pvp and pve.
And it’s more white than blue now… sad that they removed so much darkness from the map. I’ve been playing and I love it but to me it still just doesn’t hold the same to the old arks Abberation. I also am not being lenient with my judgement as it’s my favorite map, however I’m also not being unfair as the Yi Ling has quickly taken spot as my second favorite creature, and some of the new lighting is nice but I’m still disappointed in the cosmetics of this map.
I love early game ark. I love watching early game ark and the struggles. A lot more interesting than breeding super OP dinos and going on a rampage or whatever imo.
Little tip, a good way to hunt for yi ling levels or even the traits later on is with a karkinos. They don't agro on it so you can just pick them up and look at them. If not ideal u just kill em and get new ones, same with traits
grass.sizeScale x (1 is default, and tbh its a tad too long, set it to anywhere between 0.9 - 0.1 i prefer 0.5, looks more like a lawn) grass.densityScale x (i belive 3 is default here, setting it to 1 makes the grass not so insanely dense, 2 i feel is perfect. Find your suitable look within 1-10 Like this comment so Syntac can found this commands
The light particles emitted by pets, mushrooms, and similar items are what's causing your frame rate to drop. I don't like referencing other creators, but Bemo Guinness shared a helpful video on the 16th, explaining how to tweak the local ini file to reduce the number of particles. It does help.
I don't agree with having to pay to get cosmo but saying it's useless on abb is crazy. I have not had one time where not having one of the traditional light pets actually mattered. Turns out you can just swing away from nameless.

On the Anky - you had a mutation spree on one of your Ragnarok series - you built the castle there in the rocky area close to the swamp. You bred a blue one 😁
I just take out my spino kill a few karkainos come back with thousands of chitin and organic polymer, smack some rocks with my doed and make tons of cementing paste. Couldn't possibly be bothered to tame and use a frog at those rates
Moschops for trilobites work well too. That's my personal go to. Blue zone is so good fo stuff. Frogs, crabs, bary, dung beetle, anky... Sucks about that Alpha Steal. :(

Best way taming in the blue zone is from a karkinosback You can grap ankys, frogs, pyromane etc and simply take that to a good place for taming I tamed two megalos from my karkinos simply build a trap around them as i was sitting on my karkinos Never know that was a thing never had a karkinos on Aberration babycrabs for the win i guess 😊 Throwing my bulbdog at them to be honest but it survived Btw i was yesterday three hours in the blue zone taming/exploring and my FPS were stable To be fair my graphics are on medium only my textures are on high but i only have RTX 3080 Tri and i favor FPS over graphics
You have crops and Honey tame Snails. If you ever add Dino Depot you shove the snails (breed till you got 10) into a terminal and call it a day. Axe had no clue which seems to be a thing :D There is a mod to remove the Pyromanes from the map, you should use it, please. FYI make sure shadows are set to Medium or you will get really bad performance. You could have just broke the rock? Was it because it lost effectiveness?
I'm calling it now, the final base, at least for this spot, is gonna be a suspended treehouse with lots of pillars allowing it to widen as it goes higher

Ever since the ferox came out they’ve been broken and can’t climb properly and when you try it can be pretty glitchy. I hate it so much. The frame drops aren't just you - it's that entire area you were in grabbing the frog has extreme frame drops - as well as other areas in blue. It's a shame, I wanted to build there but decided against it until they hopefully fix it soon.
I tried to watch this earlier when it came out, but I had a migraine and the frame drops wasn’t helping. So it’s time for round two of attempting to watch this video.
I did the Artifact cave in the blue zone yesterday and on the way back in the water the lag I got was insane. I swear like 1 frame a minute. Had to close ark and luckily it took me back like 10min earlier and outside the cave
I think 80% of the world population don't know the difference between frog and toad, same with how spiders aren't actually bugs or how some fruits aren't actually fruits lol
Beezlebufo are an extinct genus of hyloid frog they are in fact frogs not toads also I believe toads are more land dwelling creatures being water dwellers during the early stages of life while frogs are more of a mix usually sticking around water even as adults it’s similar to the difference between turtles and tortoises
Pyromane bye bye. They are super awesome, totally op. They would probably be the best tame for every map. The only issue is they are a pay to play tame (so if you buy it use it) but people might prefer to see the normal everyday dinos in the game used to the best of their abilities for caves and bosses. Same goes for cosmo. If you buy it, use it!!! Very good creature to have once you figure out how to spidey around. Definitely a good one for a map with no fliers.
9:38 Its actually not pointless to use the Cosmo as a light pet.. Even without the light AOE effect.. Ask Raasclark.. He got a Reaper trapped and all the nameless killed without respawns by the help of a Rockdrake and a Cosmo.. Also used the Cosmo and a shottie to weaken the trapped queen..
I swing into things on purpose so I don't fly off into the abyss. I am the anti Spiderman. And also, love cosmo for blue be because it keeps me off the ground in blue zone or it getsme off the ground ASAP
I think a few mods remove the cryopod restrictions and i think i'm using one i'll have to check when i check out the new Astraeos map because i think i'm gonna give Ab well the damn ravs a wide berth.
Gotta disagree with the complaint about cosmo and abb. Part of what sets abb apart for me is the grounding aspect. Before you get a drake (and to a lesser extent karks) you are relegated to foot travel. Verticality is an achieved. Ziplines and ravagers to drakes. Each step feels incredibly welcome and freeing. Cosmo takes that away. So i would argue the opposite is true. Hes too good for abb. Also if you see a high level trike that solves your thatch problem super cheap Hey you brought Axe a roll rat to tame

Both Axe and Jim said they don’t like that pyromanes are on Aberration, so they would probably be happy to see pyromanes gone.

Cosmo makes perfect sense as a green zone shoulder pet, if it acted as a light pet it would make all other light pets redundant.
it's heavy p2w and you can use in blue,red zone nameless/reapers can't do u squat when u fly around. Not to mention it's making green zone trivial.

Tbh the karkinos in Asa have so much smoother animations and actually move more so like crabs but still can’t walk side to side
Cause they don't need to walk side to side, karkinos is a different shape when compared to regular crabs

i can only speak dor myself but my 3090 gets me 50 fps on medium to high setting on 4k in the blue zone so i dont have any real problems there

@Syntac I think this map is the perfect place to add owl Griffin mod. And it's saddle works portable Smithy.

ARK reminds me a lot of the Sims, it's almost surprising when it works right.

The pyromane gives mobility without flight. It makes perfect sense to me, it rivals rock drakes (not as good)

Since Cosmo sits on your wrist most of the time, they should have made it so you can have both Cosmo and a lightpet. Same with carrying a dodo etc...

Beezlebufo are toads not frogs. Frogs have smooth skin, toads are covered in gross bumps, you do the math, I will die on this hill.

I have a pack of beelzebufo that are colored just like a pacman frog I used to own. The model I'm 99% sure is big pacman frog.

Syntac there is plants in the blue zone you can hit it will give you cementing past. You will get a lot more
Karkinos are weak to arrows and artgros are weak to bullets, always remember cuz they are opposite (and i played Abberation as my first map on ASE)

Pyromane bye bye. They are super awesome, totally op. They would probably be the best tame for every map. The only issue is they are a pay to play tame (so if you buy it use it) but people might prefer to see the normal everyday dinos in the game used to the best of their abilities for caves and bosses. Same goes for cosmo. If you buy it, use it!!! Very good creature to have once you figure out how to spidey around. Definitely a good one for a map with no fliers.
I don't remember if diplocaulus get alot of oil but I know they do like 10x damage on trilobites and get alot of chitin
Put in command to get rid of the sparkle particles to help out your frame rate

Ask Raasclark.. He got a Reaper trapped and all the nameless killed without respawns by the help of a Rockdrake and a Cosmo.. Also used the Cosmo and a shottie to weaken the trapped queen..
I think cosmo hit the rat when it dropped.

It's not just you, the blue zone is extremely laggy rn even on lowest settings. I've seen other struggled with it too

You can also disable pyro spawns in the ini file

After trying to go through the blue zone numerous times I found that I had to disable pyromanes to have any fun. Seriously the pyromanes are terrible.

what setting is that you can you see the stat points that you leveled on your tames?
I think a few mods remove the cryopod restrictions and i think i'm using one i'll have to check when i check out the new Astraeos map because i think i'm gonna give Ab well the damn ravs a wide berth.
Gotta disagree with the complaint about cosmo and abb. Part of what sets abb apart for me is the grounding aspect. Before you get a drake (and to a lesser extent karks) you are relegated to foot travel. Verticality is an achieved. Ziplines and ravagers to drakes. Each step feels incredibly welcome and freeing. Cosmo takes that away. So i would argue the opposite is true. Hes too good for abb.
Also if you see a high level trike that solves your thatch problem super cheap
