Thanks for sharing the video. I felt that fall in the ditch. I did the same thing at J Morgan Futch last year but in January. Those ditches are no joke.
Yall need a couple thermacells 😂 Ill be kicking off my duck season with some buddies after thanksgiving! We will be hitting an impoundment on the 30th with high hopes! Hopefully the NC weather stay cool for us!
Ha yes we do! I drew a permit for impoundment on the 30th as well, but had a conflict come up and won’t be able to make it. I’m sure that means it’ll be covered up in Ducks.
I just subbed, I’m looking forward to more content. That’s pretty cool that your state plants millet to attract waterfowl. My state doesn’t plant anything on public hunting land, at least in my area.
@ some of the best waterfowl hunting in the U.S. can be found on the Texas gulf coast. There’s a lot of public land down there. I live in northeast Texas, the habitat here isn’t prime like it is in other parts of the state.
What’s your thoughts on the rain system coming over Fla into Atlantic, you think the pressure will push birds more inland on Carolina coast while the cold front pressure is pushing birds south n east?
Well I haven’t been following that system. I don’t think the cold front will really be all that cold but it should push a few birds our way. If the tropical system is just rain, they will hunker down until it passes. Might be a good hunt after that.

Ha, thanks. If I’d been paying attention it wouldn’t have been a problem.

Hey that’s great. Thanks for subscribing. NC doesn’t do it as well as places like Missouri but we have some nice spots. What state are you in?
@ Texas. Some of the public lakes and wetlands in my area have patches of smartweed but that’s about it for duck food.
Gotcha. I thought Texas has some pretty public land. But I’ve never been.

You mean up in currituck right? I had a draw hunt there 8 years ago but it was pretty dead.
It’s not far from Currituck. I’ve only hunted it in November. Never drawn a permit for later in the season.
Nice hunt for you all and glad it was a success, I got to shoot 4 times yesterday and of course I missed but had fun
Nice hunt. I took the NC plunge myself lately.
Thanks. If you like woodducks, its a good place to be. LOL
Lynchburg sc and have more birds here than last 3 years for opening weekend Nov 23
That’s great. I think I’m seeing more here than I usually do this early. I hope you have a great season.
