Working construction, around 90°f it will rain sap inside a new building. It sticks from floor to boots. Boots to ladder. Ladder to hands. I keep a bottle of germX to wash it off because sticky hands send me thru the roof.
Pressure treated lumber isn’t what it used to be. Lumber in general lacks quality. We are growing trees to fast the grain isn’t tight and you lose structural integrity.
Which is better for the environment than what we did in the past. Most of those quality boards were from trees in old growth forests that took centuries to grow.
They actually purposely do not kiln dry them completely, which makes them easier to use in home construction. You can go to the other section of wood but it'll cost more
@@robsollars1981 how is it remotely better for the environment? We cut down old growth forests full of biodiversity and instead of monocultures of fast growining trees with little biodiversity. Backwards logic
@@LaughingMan44cause one tree can be replaced much faster than the other. Plus you are disturbing the old growth forest by taking down the massive old trees. Would you make the same argument for monoculture crops?
lol the quality of lumber had gone down hill in last 4 years. “At least at big box stores” I don’t do a lot of wood working projects but in the last 2 years I have had both pressure treated and non treated lumber warp in ways I didn’t think was possible.
Broooo I live on Weiss lake!! where did y’all camp at I stay in the centre Alabama side! Hell comment back maybe we can go out on a boat and rip a couple large mouth lips‼️‼️‼️
That mechanic’s hand cleaning paste that comes in those little tubs , is very effective at removing pine sap , grease and gum from clothes and hair, Let it soften and remove the sap then launder. I keep a tub of it by my washer. It’s good for getting grease stains out of polyester was long as you haven’t put it an electric dryer yet.
Sweet deal homie, your boards came with their own weatherproofing. Scoop that up into a tin can, half and half with some spirit (pick yr poison), and reapply. The cost of spar-urethane is a kick in the urethra.
call a guy for them to bring a bit of terpentine, "caution!" tape, trowels and scrapers to even it out to sun cure. When leave-send young self starters there, repeatedly offering to renedy
You ain’t never gonna see proper treated lumber for the rest of our lifetimes. These corporate logging operations just pressure treat their pine boards and ship em out they just keep the turnover going. I guess it’s more profitable for them but it’s ruining half the homes being built now a days
Welcome to the real homade do it yourself son stop wining an enjoy the handy work . Hell no it not kiln dried that's straight cut down hued into planks an then into a deck welcome to homemade 😊😮😅😂
Who is this non-hat-wearing person? 🤔
😂
I have to remind people i still have a full head of hair sometimes 😂
@@NativeHabitatProject Ha! True, true.
I was gonna say, he's got good hair! I'm 28 and my dome gleams in the sun.
I did not expect that much hair lol
😂 Anytime I am out hiking or fishing I collect resin to make my homemade fire starters for camping. This would be a gold mine for me.
I’m glad I’m not the only one, it’s so pure🤣
I have a tree in my backyard that always has a big spot of sap, thankfully its just barley high enough so my dog cant rub against it
I was thinking the same thing
Facts! 😂❤
Improves grip on the railing
Lol
That's what she said.
XD
It's code
That's quality pine resin. Mix one part pine resin to one part ppwdered charcoal and you've got instant glue.
What’s the working time once it’s been mixed?
@@richeyrich2203 it's heat activated so as it cools down it begins to harden. Heating it back up will soften it again.
@@richeyrich2203 depends on how much you have of it, outside conditions, etc, but idk like an hour,, but you can always reheat

Not Kilm dried properly. More like not Kilm dried. Damn near at all lol also, that's a pretty rough finish. They might want to get some stain on that.
kiln
@@TheOnlyKateslate lmao thanks 👍
Most lumber for residential construction isn't kiln dried, at least on the west coast.
Green lumber is the most common.
Resin takes years upon yours to 100 years to be released. It's random. It's sporadic. Welcome to pine fur and spruce
I literally have never seen a kiln dried board do that. It should not even have that much left.
Without your hat, for the first few seconds, I thought I was watching a Forrest Galante short. Lol.
😂😂 could this sap trap future prehistoric insects?
😮you ought to collect it and use it to make Tanglefoot traps for
Cucumber beetles.
If I'm dressed up, I gotta change right before I leave the house. Pretty much all my clothes are pre- ruined 😂
Took me a hot second to recognize you without a hat on!
You seem to be missing your hat. Your head is incomplete. 😂
nah the hat is just how he naturally is and he got a bad haircut at the barber, removed too much
you should put something in it! then let it harden, bury it and confuse someone in the future!
4th of July,,,,,I hope they don't get any runaway sparks from fireworks.😮😮😮😬😬

Theyre one magnifying glass away from an insurance claim
Whats kiln dried my lumber these days is pond dried😂
Connect it thin it down with alcohol and use it as a varnish.
That's awesome, stick some mozzie in it 😂
Scoop it up and save it for fire starter in the winter.
That's interesting, bet the sap smells like nice at least?
that board can catch fire in no time
Sap - nature's napalm 😂
hes got hair! 😄
Id be collecting it all and storing it in a Tupperware type container or something. Why? Who knows.
I don't know what part of the country you are in, but on the West Coast most lumber is never kiln dried, it's all green lumber lol
Thats crazy, my parents bought lumber off a guy years ago for a deck, it would ooze spots of sap. i used to think it was bad until i saw this😂
Hey! Right in my neighborhood! I live in Centre 1/4 mile from the lake.

I love how excited you get about the wonders of the world. Even pine sap gets your gears turning. You are a National Treasure, sir.
If it was cheap, then no biggie. But lumber is so stupidly expensive you'd expect better.

Regular isopropyl will get out sap from basically any clothes. Even really old stains
Somebody tried to mill their own lumber without learning about the different wood types 😔🙏🏾
Liquid gold, save it and you've got excellent firestarter
That looks like one of my good Carhartts. Dang u not chainsawing much.
call a guy for them to bring a bit of terpentine, "caution!" tape, trowels and scrapers to even it out to sun cure. When leave-send young self starters there, repeatedly offering to renedy
Clean it off with cotton balls and alcohol ...boom fire starters😅😅😅😅
I'd be scrapping that off that wood.
That's coming home with me.
Collect it and make torches! Mosquito repellent!

I’m renting an apartment that has pine sap leaking out of the door jams, through the paint the wood was bought coated with.
Welcome to Weiss Lake sir…hope your experience here was good here besides the extra grip on the railing.
Life hack let the mosquitoes land on it and just wait millions of years you'll have you some nice fossils
Holy crap. I've seen a lot of lumber, and the most I've ever seen is pea sized on roof rafters.
Dang. You should've licked it lolol. Kidding
That is a matchstick waiting to go up. One dude or dudette has a smoke on the porch, and it's game, set, and match.
i shouldn’t be hungry from this but that shit looks delicious 💀
Wrong those boards were never kiln dried… I cut down a Doug and it was dead for years and all the sap left
brotha i dont think the sap is coming up from the boards, the pattern makes me think its dripping off a tree.
Rubbing alcohol and a bit of dish soap will take tree sap out of fabric.
I use a little bit of that strap on the head of my Philips bit, and the screws don't fall off
Kill drying wont get rid of the sap just the moisture .
Every person should have a sacrificial set of sap clothes.
Give you to your least favorite weed guy and tell him it's dab
ill just say i love that lake my grandparents used to own an island over there and we'd go every weekend
Heck yeah, hope y’all caught some crappie
Looks like someone collected it then left it there and it melted.
Scrape all that into a jar, it can be used for all kinds of things
Looks like fresh cannabis oils from the press
Sooo what can you do short of replacing the board?
That’s Norway spruce size sap
Home Depot timber strikes again.
Turn it into pitch glue?
Wait for it to dry scrap it off and make fire starters
Bottle it uo and sell it to a strong man competition lol
We used to fish for crappie in Weiss Lake.
Maybe its fatwood -can start a fire with that stuff
Fat wood scrape it and scoop it up for 🔥
There are no trie cedars in N.America
instinctive thought; collect it
Question
What does one do in this situation?
Lemme get that shit - a baseball player
Its code , to helps gripping
that seems like a big fire hazard
Bro! You were right up the road!
Save that sap , it's a great fire starter
Yeah cedar sap, okay buddy
Put it in small jars and sell it😂
Make some pitch with it!
Looks like gold to me! 🙌🌲🍯💫
very flammable too!
Tip: use any cooking oil to remove sap from hands or tools. Then wash the oil off with regular dish soap.
😮 what about clothes?!
Scrape it up save it
Use it to start your fire
Did u say Wise lake?
Lowe's special
Wow that sucks!
Pine's Revenge
… yummy /s
Dab it
Eat it
Darned ole yellow pine!
Yaba dabba doooo!!!
You were in my area then.
