When I was about 8 and slept over at a friends' house, it was great and fun and cool until after bedtime and the house was big and scary and dark and made funny noises and I called my Mom and she came to get me. It was just that one time, but from all of us scared kids, thanks Mom for always being there with the car and complete loving understanding.
What if youd stayed there and learned on your own that there was actually nothing to fear? Youd have felt braver and a little less scared of the world around you.
@@GGoAwayy Well, that was about 55 years ago, so it seems to have worked out. If my grandkids today get a little scared, I let them know we're there for them. But I will say, I am proud when they are scared (of Doctors and such), I tell them it's okay to be afraid, but if they are afraid and do it anyway (they always do), then they are my Hero. A person who has fear and carries on has my respect, but I also understand the difference between being a youngster and an adolescent or adult.

I was a sick kid and felt super lame telling my friends pretty regularly that I was too sick to hang out so my mum did the same thing. Made me remember when my mom had to pick me up because of homesickness -she always did and never made me feel bad about it.. Thank you Mom and I love you❤
One of the last times I got homesickness, I was with the neighbor's family and they took me and their kids to Taco Bell. I don't know why but after the food came, I wanted out 😂 nothing I could do, I ate part of the nachos and just whimpered until we got home. I think it's just cause they weren't the warmest people.
As someone who has been an introvert with a limited social battery all of my life and as someone who had a very understanding mom who would absolutely bail me out like this if I needed it, I loved this sketch down to the bottom of my heart.

I told my kids years ago if they didn’t want to go someplace or be someplace, blame me. “My mom is going to be angry” etc. They did and I couldn’t have cared less what kids thought about me, so long as my kids were safe and happy and had a serious out for peer pressure lol
