Maddie will you ever come to the USA ..Los Angeles has a booming vegan scene as does Las vegas i would so come to see you and Alex..please come to the 🇺🇸
i know im asking randomly but does any of you know of a way to get back into an instagram account? I was stupid forgot the login password. I love any help you can give me!
You are genious! I have some sheets that expired because I gave up making my own sushi, now they will be used (although they probably expired 2 years ago, but whatever)
i could literally watch her all day. i never get tired of her recipes or her commentary, or her taste tests. i’m not a vegan but i love watching her videos
The best thing about your recipe videos is not only that they are so easy, affordable and tasty, but how natural you are. I love that it's not ideal, how you spill or burn or struggle with something, and then just laugh and move on. It makes me feel better about my kitchen skills and helps me cook more. Thank you! 💙 I'm going to try all of them, especially the dahl. And definitely will try to get your book if shipping costs won't kill me (I live in Poland).
I've made the risotto for so many people by now, and they all LOVED it, vegans and non-vegans alike. I think it really shows that vegan food is just as delicious. :) Thanks for all the amazing recipes! Going to try the chickpea tunasalad next
The chickpea "tuna" is greeeeeeaaaat! Add some dill and/or Old Bay for an even more tuna-like taste. Thank you so much for your recipes! They're so good!
@V C Hey, genius. Check out how "tuna" is in quotes. No one is pretending. It legitimately tastes like tuna. Have you Made chickpea "tuna"? No? Then shut the fuck up. I made it for my friends and they legit couldn't tell the difference. As far as the hypocrisy- is wanting to recreate the textures/flavors of past favorite foods being a hypocrite? Vegans don't want to kill animals. As long as they're not eating meat there is no hypocrisy, you absolute prodigy.
I can't wait to try all of these, I think I might try to trick my family into them thinking the meals are not vegan (my whole family eats meat). I've already done that with chocolate chip cookies and they couldn't tell a difference:)
@Ni Ra i wish there was a laughing react on youtube so i could use it on your comment. So sad. 🙄. I wish you a good 2020, filled with more positivity and hopefully less hatred!
@Ni Ra if you had eaten 100 chicken hearts in one day you would be either very ill or dead because chicken hearts are high in sodium, iron and zinc. Bee keeping is great, since bees are a vital asset to a healthy environment, but veganism is shown to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. I mean if everyone grew their food that way and only ate meat every once in a while that would help the environment but not everyone does that and your line efforts won't stop climate change. Also I doubt that you only consume that much meat because meat gets rotten fast. Moreover most of the food we produce is for animals. And being vegan doesn't make you anorexic. To be fair I doubt that you have 50 bee hives because 4 bee hives usually produce around 100 pounds of honey and 1-2 pounds of rendered bees wax. Calm the fuck down, and find a better hobby
I've done the same! My dad always asks, is this real meat? My BFF even tried one of my recipes and said, THIS TASTES LIKE MEAT! Then started joking it was really meat and I was just fooling everyone. Now my dad loves my dishes and he loves vegan bacon. It makes me happy that since 2004 I've been saving animals by not eating meat. Sure there's assholes out there. With their heads so far up their asses, they can see the giant whole where their heart should be. I've learned that, I went to a school full of those assholes, who treated me like shit for my diet choices. When I did nothing to them, I'm a pretty quiet person. It's funny and also sad how uneducated people are. I'm healthier than I was when I ate meat. I got into fitness and even bodybuilding. I was pressing 250 and doing 40 reps, WITHOUT MEAT. I'm 5'2 and pretty small. That was like 2 1/2x my weight. People tell me, maybe you should eat meat again. Make stupid ass excuses just to justify them eating meat. I think all that meat has retarded their brain or something. People like Preacher Lawson from AGT and many other vegans. Lift weights, bodybuild and do anything anyone else can. I just laugh, when people act like being vegan makes you unhealthy. It's like, get your head out your ass and read a damn book. Quit spreading around false information. All they're doing is making themselves look like idiots. Just ignore them, they're desperate for attention to justify their horrible life choices. Don't please the trolls, they'll keep hanging around like crabs on a Las Vegas hooker. Know you're doing the right thing and that's all that matters. Let the shit talkers talk, with all that meat they eat. They won't be around much longer anyway.
Tip: I like to have some white wine as my first splash of liquid for the risotto. It adds even more flavour :) Also, I like to add a knob of margarine and vegan parmesan into the risotto at the very end, not just sprinkling it with some. Blending lightly roasted sesame seeds, nutritional yeast and some salt (to taste) in a processor will make a pretty decent parmesan for this purpose.
OMG! 4 out of 5 are my staples and fav vegan recipes! i just do nori with chickpea tuna, cashew cream, bell peppers and pesto sauce to the mushroom pasta, i also add cashew cream to risotto and a lil but evoo (im moroccan after all) and i do an inauthentic dahl with more of a mediterranian kick as i dont like much massala and curry ;)
‘Attempt to de stem a tomato, give up and slice it anyway’ Thanks for that! I laughed so much I had a coughing fit (asthma sucks) and nearly coughed up a lung 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Also, can we make it a rule this year that every video has outtakes at the end 🤞
I haven’t seen your videos for awhile and wow girl!! Congrats onthe book launch and also- so great to see you levelled up making videos, love all the details, stuff sync with music, shaking letters over the blender &all that jazz. Great work and yummy recipies!❤️🤤
I went vegetarian in July this year. Now I try to eat as little animal products as I can, but since I still live with my parents (I'm 16) it would be really hard organization-wide to go fully vegan. I plan on doing that once I move out to go to a university. What I wanted to say, is thank you so SO much for your videos and your website. It's mostly them (and also pick up limes- she's great) that made this switch so easy. Actually, if I remember correctly the first vegan dinner I ever made for myself and my family, was that mushroom risotto of yours. So, once more, I am incredibly grateful for providing lots of wonderful recipes and showing me and thousands of other people how easy and delicious vegan diet can be. I've missed your recipe videos! ❤ weirdly enough, these are five recipes from you that I don't think I've ever tried? Excited for your book release and thank you for giving us the Veganuary gift of easy and tasty recipes 🥰
Melissa .Garrett isn’t it? 🤤 currently becoming a staple in my house including the mushroom risotto. Adding a knob of non dairy butter really gives it a richness!
Thanks Maddie for sharing these recipes they all look very easy to make and delicious. Congratulations again on your book launch. My husband and I would love to meet you but unfortunately we don't live in the UK. we live in the United States. We wish you all the best.❤
Great video! Just a PSA: It's not just that "people get mad," the reason saying things like "Chai tea" or "Naan bread" or "Lentil dahl" is annoying is because it ignores the validity, presence and meaning of the Hindi word (or another Indian language). That is what is so disrespectful about it. Nobody would say "tea tea", "bread bread" , "lentil lentil" in normal English, therefore saying "Lentil dahl" ignores the meaning of the word dahl, which is what makes people mad because that is disrespectful. I'm glad you are saying it correctly, but I didn't want this view to be reduced to something "people get mad about". It's not that "people get mad" its because "it's disrespectful and incorrect speech". Okay PSA over :)
Jyoti Bodas disrespect can only occur if the people giving the disrespect are aware that’s what they are doing. It’s a conscious thing. Other than that it’s just lack of knowledge . Just saying
@@djaneab you can definitely hurt people and disrespect them without intending to. And it is important to aknowledge that in general. Kindness doesn't mean you never hurt or disrespect anybody, it means you care that you did. In other words, lack of knowledge can definitely be disrespectful. Someone not knowing doesn't stop someone else from feeling disrespected.
Jyoti Bodas I sorry but I don’t agree in this particular context, generally if it’s lack of knowledge about general words/pronunciation/ correct name/reference most people will put the person right or just ignore. There are, I get, of course a very few instances where disrespect can be felt, but not in this particular context. Again just my opinion...
@@djaneab the hurt or disrespect some else feels is up to them, by definition. Feelings are inherently subjective. No one is saying you have to label yourself a bad person for something you didn't intend. But people can do disrespectful things unintentionally or intentionally. It's about acknowledging the disrespect and taking corrective action.
Im trying to eat more and more plant-based this year and I've tried the hummus pasta you've showed in a previous video and it's delicious. I've gotten nutritional yeast but I also forgot that spinach a la crème (I don't know if that's how you say it in English) isn't vegan lol
hi! if you wanna make spinach a la creme, try coconut cream. i used to make a dish similar to it with dairy cream before going vegan and i replaced it with coconut cream and it has worked out lovely! :)
We make your mushroom risotto about twice a week. My non vegan husband loves it. He found a ton of oyster mushrooms one day and he was in mushroom risotto heaven for a good week.
I love your content!!! You are so fun to watch!!! Also, I've made your vegan mac and cheese twice, and it was one of the best things I've ever eaten in my life!!!
Agh I make that vegan mushroom risotto ALLLLLL the time! Sometimes I change it up depending on what's in the house, but I always use your recipe as the base. I also make your tomato-based lentil dahl all the time, so I'll defs try this coconut one too!
So happy with this video - will definitely be trying (or revisiting!) these recipes over the next couple of weeks!! Made your nut roast for my Christmas dinner, went down an absolute treat (and a couple of meat eaters enjoyed it too!). Love your videos! Happy 2020 ^_^
Soaking lentils in water a few hours before cooks it 80% faster. I usually soak it overnight when I want to cook the next day. Also adding turmeric gives great flavor and color.
Happy book week Madeleine! 📓🎉 I need to go back to cooking more, so with a little inspiration from your videos, I'll try forming back this habit on a fortnight basis (maybe a concept for future videos - every other Friday "cooking something new with Maddie" haha?). Slightly tempted coming in Thursday Good luck with everything and happy 2020 to you and Alex!
All these look so so yummy!! Please can you do some more recipes that don’t need a food processor for though? Love ur channel and what you’re about! 🌿✨
Perfect vid. Thank you! Lovely ideas and as always great captions from Alex. Can’t wait to create Easy Peasy Mac ‘n’ Cheesy 😂 Congratulations on your book!
This is bloody fab, the editing especially with the music and the editing with the words! So aesthetic to watch and I can not wait for the book! Will it have things that can be applicable for a college dorm?
I really love all if your recipe. It’s so versatile, fulfilling and absolutely delicious. Tried some at home and love how they turned out! Keep up the good work😍 much love from Vietnam
Great video as always :) I really enjoy the music you put in the background, not many youtubers use tracks with vocals but it feels very chil and homey, I love it ^^ Congrats on your book launch !!! PS : if you could consider leaving the name of the artist and maybe the songs too in the description that'd be amazing (even if they're free of rights), I'm sure I'm not the only one who really appreciates the music and would love to listen to more songs from the artists ^^
Looking forward to trying all of these, thank you for sharing. I hope your events go really well. We enjoyed your red cabbage dish from Christmas and will definitely make it again. I was less successful with the nut loaf but could not find Chestnuts in Australia in summer. I’m sure to try it again though.
Dear Madeleine, thanks for your inspiring videos! Just one thing which I find important: buying cucumbers and fresh tomatoes in January is not sustainable!
What is the song during the creamy mushroom pasta part?! The "throw our problems in the flame". Love your videos - relaxing, fun, and always make vegan eating so attainable and delicious.
Hey, still struggling with portion control, so I was wondering if you could add the calories to you video. It would be super helpful, to know that I'm eating enough, to fuel my body, but still making sure my binges get sort of be compensated. Love you videos, they are so super positive about food :)
The OG red dahl and chili con protein are monthly staples for me! As in, I don't even need the recipe anymore because I have it memorized, staples. 8 years of veganism is a breeze when the food is good!
Easiest way to destem a tomato is to push and roll the base of it under the leaves with your thumb, learnt from my job where I had to make 20-30kg batches of pico de gallo from scratch every day
Hi, I just wanted to let you know that you might have made a mistake with the written instructions for the Mac and cheese recipe on this video. The video says one cup of cashews but it looks like a 1/2 compared to the cup you use for nooch. I looked up the written recipe on your blog and it says to use half a cup there. Sorry if I’m wrong just wanted to let you know. I love your videos! I have made your ‘tuna’ recipe again and again! Beautiful video. Have a great day!
Excellent video and recipes. Have tried the Mac and Cheese but still haven't tried the others and plan to do so. When I make any pasta recipe I prefer whole-wheat pasta because white pasta isn't a whole plants food because white pasta and white rice are processed foods but whole wheat pasta and brown rice contain more nutrients and I also find it is a bit of a false economy because white pasta and rice doesn't fill me up as much and I get hungry later but I don't have that problem with whole-wheat pasta and brown rice due to the extra protein and fibre in them.
Happy Veganuary! Please check the description box for all the info about my upcoming book and events! Can't wait to meet you!

PS : if you could consider leaving the name of the artist and maybe the songs too in the description that'd be amazing (even if they're free of rights), I'm sure I'm not the only one who really appreciates the music and would love to listen to more songs from the artists ^^
Best of luck with your book looking forward to getting it 🍀
Looking forward to trying all of these, thank you for sharing. I hope your events go really well.
We enjoyed your red cabbage dish from Christmas and will definitely make it again. I was less successful with the nut loaf but could not find Chestnuts in Australia in summer. I’m sure to try it again though.
i need all of these but especially the mac and cheese and creamy mushroom pasta!!!
Book pre-ordered!👏can’t wait to get it!
Thank you for sharing these. One of my news year’s resolutions is to eat more whole foods cooked from scratch 👍😊🌱💚
I'm coming to your book launch on Thursday!!! I'm sooooooo excited
I love the taking a bit with the big spoon I want some
omg this mac&cheese looks awesome
Dear Madeleine, thanks for your inspiring videos! Just one thing which I find important: buying cucumbers and fresh tomatoes in January is not sustainable!
What is the song during the creamy mushroom pasta part?! The "throw our problems in the flame".
Love your videos - relaxing, fun, and always make vegan eating so attainable and delicious.
I just made the Mushroom Risotto and it was so delicious!!!
Hey, still struggling with portion control, so I was wondering if you could add the calories to you video. It would be super helpful, to know that I'm eating enough, to fuel my body, but still making sure my binges get sort of be compensated. Love you videos, they are so super positive about food :)
Congratulations on the book!
The OG red dahl and chili con protein are monthly staples for me! As in, I don't even need the recipe anymore because I have it memorized, staples. 8 years of veganism is a breeze when the food is good!
That wicker lamp shade in your room is the exact same one as they have in the living room of my Airbnb in the north of Sweden right now. How random! 😀
Easiest way to destem a tomato is to push and roll the base of it under the leaves with your thumb, learnt from my job where I had to make 20-30kg batches of pico de gallo from scratch every day
These all look so darn good 🤤 Can’t wait to try these soon!
Wow they all look so delicious! Gotta try some of them for sure.
Just made the mushroom risotto, it's fab. Easy to make, very tasty
Beautiful video! Also appreciate the humour of the instructions :D Do you have a playlist with the music you use for videos? Always love the songs!
Just turned vegan ! ♡
The vegan "tuna" is so good! Mad that it works but it does. I need to make it soon.
Excellent video and recipes. Have tried the Mac and Cheese but still haven't tried the others and plan to do so. When I make any pasta recipe I prefer whole-wheat pasta because white pasta isn't a whole plants food because white pasta and white rice are processed foods but whole wheat pasta and brown rice contain more nutrients and I also find it is a bit of a false economy because white pasta and rice doesn't fill me up as much and I get hungry later but I don't have that problem with whole-wheat pasta and brown rice due to the extra protein and fibre in them.
they all look so good!
Lol Alex trying to pretend he doesn’t know the super Mario theme song when he used all of the Mario sound effects on vlogs before 😂
I’ve made your daal so many times and love it each time! Also find your videos so relaxing 💞
