Love all your finds!!!! The Canadian Barbie is wearing the Royal Canadian Mounted Police ceremonial uniform and the jacket is referred to as the Red Serge 😊 The RCMP is Canada's national police force 🍁
The Canadian doll is gorgeous! My Hollywood Nails doll had loose hips. And her nail polish was also dried up. I had her before - back when she first came out, and the nail polish had a pleasant scent.
I am so jealous of your thrifting sources especially Mackays. It is the main attraction for me in Nashville! I love seeing the unique dolls you find. Thrifting here in Canada is a lot less thrilling but still low cost gambling. I have found the most unique dolls including the ugliest skipper ever. Some have been unexpected treasures to me personally (not really valuable dolls in collector terms) and this is why I enjoy the hunt. Your video is full of the personal aspect of doll hunting which is so fascinating
I'm shocked. He actually finds dolls in box at Thrift stores. The chains like Goodwill put their stuff of value online now. I just find naked Barbies and Disney Princess dolls in very beat-up condition.
I love that you find new appreciation for the old dolls. I love seeing them and hearing your input on fashion and face molds, hair types and makeup. lots of love from Canada!
i live vicariously through your videos bc to curb my spending i only collect barbies with the 59 face hahahaha. love seeing all these fashions and different face sculpts.
OMG! The Hollywood Nails and Blaine really brings back memories! Makes me feel old. I remember get them when they were new. Glad you are enjoying them!
I so remember that style, I was in my late teens going into my 20s during this time.. I had the hairstyle and the plum lip color.. don’t get me started with the platform shoes and flip flops, Ohhhh babe we were everything back then ❤
Im always happy to see that you have uploaded a new video :) Blaine surprised me. I know Generation Girl is highly detailed, but was not expecting that cool shirt underneath that jacket. Im also surprised to see that much of a neck on the headsculpt itself. The 90s ken's were easy to clip off, but thats a lot of neck on Blaine! Its a shame a lot of the "leather" clothing is crumbling. Sometimes its not salvageable like Earring Magic Barbie's outfit because its so thin and theres barely enough structure to fix, but this? You can fix easily with one of those faux leather fix kits they sell; you basically crumble the left overs as much as possible, and then recoat it with the new paint. I like Superstar Barbie and this one Ive never really paid attention to until this video. Generally, I avoid dolls of the world because I got the phillipines and she was a glue mess, glue seeping everywhere. Is this the same for Canada Barbie? Shes really pretty and i like her shade of red (I dislike when they use the carrot shade). I think you need to coat that bandaid in UV resin and then use it as a ring, I would be upset to see a future Barbie GBF video without it lol
❤ Omg I never realized that Canada Barbie was so beautiful. Great price too. I'm going to have to get one. I recently discovered the one from Holland with the Carnival face. I too was hoping for the Hispanic facemold for the anniversary Teresa after hearing youmention it previosly.
Blaine is way cuter than Ken :) I can see why Barbie dumped Ken for him. But that mushroom cut, haha, that was huge in the 90s. Great find! This guy is better quality than most collector dolls are today. I LOVE that Canadian Barbie's face, I want that doll! And no, I never ever find good thrift store Barbies where I live. I only find destroyed knock off Barbies if I'm lucky
I own two of the Tori budget mermaids, one wich I keep as a Mermaid and one that have a normal human unarticulated body. The distribution of these mermaids were so weird, I've seen them few times on a big retailer here in Brazil, and got them at a sale. Glad I could put my hands on them, and kinda want more lol, she's great and hope they do more Toris with different colors of hair, and hope they bring back Lara to playline soon
i remember the dolls off the world pink collection at walmart it was like a huge row off all the dolls they had them all i used to look at them everytime i would go especially the mexican one and i believe a Australian one for some reason ( also i love ur vids on unboxing older barbie releases)
Always, awesome video😊 I look forward to them. I would love a room tour, your collection is fabulous, the redhead Looks is gorgeous in her restyling, awesome choice 🤗 I never find anything like your great finds at my Thrift Stores or yard sale.
Awesome vid💖💖💎 those dolls took me back down memory road where I haven't wasted my life with dolls.I have Hollywood nails Christie. It felt like the first articulated doll I still have with the twist braids🥰🥰🦄🪷🌸🌹🪻💎🪮.And being reminded of barbie's and Ken's breakup😂😂
Love the Burnette Tori Mermaid. I just wish she was available in the US. However, I did saw the purple hair Tori Mermaid at Toys R Us at Macy's, so she'll be on my wishlist for next month.
I sold that Blaine on EBay last year. I felt sad to see him again. I moved into a MUCH smaller space a few years ago and need to pare down my doll collection. I have that Nails Barbie. I don’t like her screening or her body, but those clothing pieces are great! Wow, I want to copy your idea and put it on my red haired Looks doll.
Well, Canada, like the USA, doesn't have a national costume, so one of the first things people think of for a canadian outfit, is the iconic uniform of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Red coat after the British military jacket, jodhpurs and riding boots because they do ride horses in ceremonies. Women were first allowed to wear the same uniform as the men only in 1990. Before that they wore a navy skirt and red womens' coat with a bowler hat and heeled shoes. We still have RCMP officers, everywhere, but they wear blue/grey uniforms, and are indistinguishable from city police. But there are no city police outside the cities, only RCMP, and they do drive cars, with a picture of a horse on it. The horses are for formal events and ceremonies. There were mounties at the queen's funeral, that's our queen, because we are still part of the British commonwealth. That is a fantastic Barbie jacket! Love the face! I own the 1987 Canada Barbie. 😊🍁❤
In Latin America we get the two versions: purple hair and black-haired. I have the black-haired one, she has no pixels and her hair is soft, yesterday I gave her a wash
i wonder why mattel is so exclusive with angel kent the best holiday doll odile and she is a walmart online exclusive, that merman and the first odile, the prince ken , the tori mermaid, i think his work is refreshing and needed in the barbie world and his ooaks are amazing
I've been enjoying your videos for quite some time, but I don't comment because I watch on my TV. I just wanted you to know that the fuzzy piece on Hollywood Nails Barbie is a shrug. If you slip both arms through it, with the shrug stretching across her back, you'll see it's a cute look. I don't know why they boxed it as a 3rd layer over the skirt of her dress, because it looks so much better as a shrug. The photos of the faces on the dress do fade with time, so be sure to keep it out of the sun. Your content is always fabulous. Thank you!
Oh you're so lucky to find Hollywood Nails for $13. USD. That's one I want and am willing to pay up to $75. CAD. (I always include shipping in my cost to me)
I am not feeling the anniversary Teresa doll either. Just like with the anniversary Christie doll, I don't understand why they went with a sculpt that the character never used before. I would have loved if the anniversary Christie had used her original 1968 face with updated screening and hair. I feel the same about Teresa. I would love to see the 1983 Spanish Barbie face sculpt brought back, but I would make a slight tweak to it. I think it's just a little bit too small compared to other heads, and I think that the mouth should look slightly more serious or slightly more happy. The original sculpt always looked kind of 'blank' and expressionless to me, though it really works for some dolls depending on the screening.
La Barbie canadiense va vestida con el uniforme de la policía montada del Canadá. Me encanta el Blaine y Frida. Quizá puedas pegar alguna pegatina (de las k se usan para manicura) en la chaqueta de Blaine para tapar el defecto.
I'm really jealous how easy it is for you to find such amazing dolls in your area. Where I live you can't find ANYTHING interesting outside of the new un-articulated Barbie fashionistas unless if I go to Other supermarkets or Toys shops that are far far away from where I live. They don't even sell Made to move on shelves outside of a single smyths toy Shop that is out of town. The most I have found in a single thrift shop are these really beautiful out of the box Limited edition Barbie's from the 2000s, which are now gone. Said thrift shop is again far out of town for me.
Also, I was really hoping for Freida as Teresa; but seeing the design, I think a lot of people would have been annoyed that she doesnt look too different from the Looks Freida; same skin, same hairstyle etc. I really wish they used Rollerskate Teresa as a reference, but I understand why they chose this. Lina isnt that exciting.. but I am just grateful it isnt Karl. I just dont like that sculpt! I think Victoria would have been interesting. I never thought of Elle, but I always did want one in a lighter skintone for more represntation and I think she would have really looked good as Teresa (hollywood hair teresa!!)
Ooh yeah not a fan of the Teresa head sculpt and I’m bummed they didn’t use the sculpt from the Hollywood nails Teresa doll as I’m pretty sure that was her first original head sculpt made just for her and I loved her with it!
Putting Frida on a body without leg articulation feels so fucking ableist- For those unaware, Frida Kahlo got into a severe accident that left her unable to use her lower body properly, so Mattel using the body they did does not honor her properly. Making her Made to Move is the best thing to do.
Generation Girl Blaine is not the same Blaine that Barbie dated (once Mattel establishes rights to a name, they will very often re-use it for different characters.) It was the Blaine Barbie dated that got the Tango head sculpt. I've been trying to research Mattel sculptors in the late 80s into the 90s--if sources can be trusted, this Blaine was sculpted by Hussein Abbo, who also sculpted Goddess, Shani/Asha/Nichelle (original Nichelle--what'd I just say about Mattel re-using names), that Ken as Romeo in the Romeo and Juliet set (with claims it was based on his son), and I *suspect* he also sculpted Mackie and 1987 Skipper Incidentally, I went to McKay's the day after you did--we had been planning the trip for weeks, but as soon as I saw you posting the evening before, I knew there wouldn't be anything good left for me. (And don't claim birthday privileges--my birthday's in July, too 😁) -Mountie- Canadian Barbie's boots are based on a boot sculpt Mattel started using around 1970, and used into the mid 90s, so there are more of them out there, somewhere
Omg I’m so jelly over that Hollywood nails Barbie! That clothing set is so fun to use in so many ways
19:39 Frida being everything! Love the fact that you have a heritage/cultural corner! Ty
That Tori mermaid is also available in the Philippines 😊
Love all your finds!!!!

This was fantastic! Absolutely awesome! Loved the "fashion packs", the faces and getting your thoughts! The dress on Anniversary Teresa, I'm in love!
Great Doll finds ❤❤ the Hollywood nails outfit is beautiful on the redhead looks doll 💅
Great finds. Frida is wonderful. I wish they had given Frida a prosthetic leg.
❤

Loved the video ❤ all the Barbie’s you thrifted looked amazing , especially the generation girl Barbie
Love the Burnette Tori Mermaid. I just wish she was available in the US. However, I did saw the purple hair Tori Mermaid at Toys R Us at Macy's, so she'll be on my wishlist for next month.
I found the Hollywood nails doll today at a car boot sale (or yard sale ig) and sadly she didn't Come In her OG outfit but rly happy I found her

Hollywood Nails Barbie was actually the very first release of the year 2000. She rang in the new millennium.
Thats an RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) uniform. It's a pretty iconic costume. I wonder if there was a horse to go with it.
In Latin America we get the two versions: purple hair and black-haired. I have the black-haired one, she has no pixels and her hair is soft, yesterday I gave her a wash
i wonder why mattel is so exclusive with angel kent the best holiday doll odile and she is a walmart online exclusive, that merman and the first odile, the prince ken , the tori mermaid, i think his work is refreshing and needed in the barbie world and his ooaks are amazing
i wheezed at the intro im so childish 😭😭😭
damn that holywood barbie in my country runs about 100 dollars...

Ohh i want that one!!!!! I cant find that barbie dreamtopia mermaid doll tori :(
I like your bandaid, fyi. 💕
I love the shape of her tail

I too don't like the Made to Move hands. They are too big everytime i put on a long sleeve top i'm afraid I'll break off one their fingers.
Blaine was hot property at that time. Hard to find and astronomical in price.
Ooh yeah not a fan of the Teresa head sculpt and I’m bummed they didn’t use the sculpt from the Hollywood nails Teresa doll as I’m pretty sure that was her first original head sculpt made just for her and I loved her with it!

Now come on, you know if you wanted anything I picked up I wouldn’t mind parting with it! Happy early or late birthday to you too, cancer queen. 🦀
Canada Barbie is wearing ceremonial outfit for the royal Canadian mounted police or Mounties
The Canadian dolls pants are designed to ride a horse, called jodpurs.
Don't be so concerned with wonk eye. Real humans have that too.
So true! I honestly rarely even notice this flaw on dolls, but perhaps that’s just me.
The sticker on the back of the Tori mermaid was in Bulgarian.
Blaine and Allen should be brought back as a couple! ❤😂❤😂❤😂
