Thanks for beating the crap out of it. I think I'll be waiting for a year or so before buying it, hopefully they take care of these issues within the year.
Just goes to show, when you go 6S you're playing with fire, no matter what they claim on the box. The other Arrma 1/8 scales also need aftermarket/DIY bracing for serious 6S bashing. The Nero seems like it should stick with moderate bashing for best results. Still seems like an awesome general purpose truck, very well thought out design, just need some updated parts here and there maybe. Not really a surprise for such a radically different brand new platform. Thumbs up to Arrma for daring it, this is what helps push the rc market forward.
Great vid mate and roundup at the end. Thumbs up from me! One thing is for certain. The truck took some very big impacts there. The damage report does seem fairly extensive though which is a little concerning. The performance, speed, power and jump ability seems superb so inevitably with that will come big crashes when it goes wrong. There has to be a limit of durability and it looks like you have found and gone beyond it! All part of the fun of rc bashing. Keep up the great/ entertaining work. 👍👍
Great video iv bought armors talion kraton Senton typhoon and now I just ordered the Nero thanks for your great reviews and videos on all the Armor family great stuff😀
vas, dont go to thick on the oil. you are trying to get rid of the kick, going to slow on your reboud can easily make the car kick more because the shock is packing and staying stiffer for longer. there is a rarther fine line with a car thats kicking. you can go to fast and to slow on the rebound and the result will be very similar and get you confused of whats needed to be changed😊 i highly recommend going to larger hole pistons (or drill yours out) aswell as getting abit softer spring. (THE BIGGEST THING) Faster rebound/less rebound damping in the FRONT will help keep the nose up and rear more planted 👌👍 enjoy.
I like your channel, very good reviews and your driving is great. I think its good for comparison that you drive the same course and road for all cars. Thanks for all the work. (even it is sure fun to do it) :)
i have just bought this truck today cant wait to try it tomorrow im only going to run it on 4s to start with need to sort some 6s packs out you make it look fantastic i take it on a jump more power lifts the front and less drops the front (noob)
Keeping it interesting as always 😏 you took one of the badest RC's an on the market an opened up some weak points the manufacturer may have over looked, all great information for the consumer an a badass bash video ta boot👍🏻
wow! man you have a ton on your plate for the RCS. you have to fix the Nero. then take apart the hip Apache clone. then on top of that all the videos you still have to do lol. and the video I can't wait for us the stampede 4x4 on 4s lol. keep up the good work :)
Great vid. Love these lengthy ones. About the suspension setup. Do you feel 5000/6000cSt is a bit too thick? Around 6.30 in you say it's not entirely right but better. What do you mean by that?
this thing is a tank. yes it broke, but for the average user this thing will do just fine. most don't bash that hard, and I cant think of another rc that would take that type beating as well as the nero did.
excellent video as always Vas. despite the damage done to the truck over the dozen or so packs in your opinion do you think the truck is worth the price??
hey Vas love your videos they are very helpful. I have a couple questions regarding my nero. What do you have your lvc set at. I have mine on default setting and my 3s packs cut off at 3.4.
You did some awesome driving of that amazing NERO , and I have to have one ... can you guess why? If you're tired of yours or want to give one away I'm putting my hand up first 😂😂😎
Hey aussie!! just wondering what conclusion you came to as to the suspention on the arrma nero 6s? what setup are you running? I'm modding mine and I ride similar to the way you do and would like to have my suspension similar to yours. oil grade would be very helpful.
Are there any way to use and aftermarket radio with the servo diffs? I have a 4PL that I would rather use than the stock radio. I was looking at getting this or Losi XXL2-E
What tires are good to use with this truck, the stock ones are ballooning like hell, are there any tires that dont balloon as much and have good thread?
First off I freaking love your videos so demonstrative you should get paid for these in my opinion and I'm debating on getting this or the outcast I want something fast and durable what's your opinion I just got a dhk zombie and I love it such a durable basher on 4s??
Vas, Im the guy from the Facebook group that Totaled my Nero in 1 week. I bent both vertical plates and all. I have to say, I was expecting the Nero to take a little more beating then it has. Im currently over $230+ in Repair/Spare parts. Mind you i replace everything back to brand new when broken but it kind of sucks to be down with my only Basher. I recently ordered a Kraton and think it will be my go to basher going foward. I look foward to seeing your upgrades. Did you see Tbone has front/rear bumper and A-Arms skids?
The Kraton V1 had its own set of issues and had a worse reputation than the Nero has now when it came to bashing. I can assure you my Kraton could not and did not withstand the abuse I've put the Nero through. In my opinion the Nero is much stronger than the Kraton and is a much more capable RC. That said, I know the V2 Kraton has had some improvements and may not have some of the issues the V1 had. But until I get the V2 and test it for myself at the same track and put it through the same punishment, I won't know for sure. Also, for you to say you were expecting the Nero to take more abuse is insane. You said you ran yours at full speed into a parked car, right? What were you expecting to happen? No car will come away from 50mph+ crash without damage, my friend. And you also need to take into account the physics of an impact like that. This truck is considerably heavier than the Kraton and at those speeds the impact of the crash is much greater than with a lighter car.
I have the Kraton V1 and absolutely love it now.....it does take a bit of upgrading to bring it up to snuff but I have beat the snot out of it and haven't had any issue's with it strength since I upgraded the steering servo mount and put bearings instead of bushings. the kraton is my go to basher and I doubt I will be selling it anytime soon.
Keep coming back to this vid just because it's so awesome... Where would you rate the build quality of this thing? The shocks look a lil cheap and nasty....Also, what's with the battery tray design, that's just asking for trouble.
To me, the shocks are fine, it's their tuning that needs work. The battery trays need to be improved somehow in future releases. I like the concept, it just wasn't done right. Not terrible by any means, just not exactly right.
Wow Vas!!! This was a f.ckin' huuuge jump...and a verry hard landing! My E-maxx woud've shattered in to 3 and my E-Revo in 2...I don't know if a Savage would've suffered the same carnage or less then the Nero, anyways, other then the battery doors opening I think this is an amazing Truck, not flawless by all mean but One Of The Verry Best!!! Thank you for this and all your videos about the Nero -and not only- , and have fun... P.s. Every one has an opinion, don't get upset on trolls or other hobbyist opinions... This an expensive-errr truck not every one can afforde it, but it is a looker and a neck turner for sure! Keep up the f.ckin' great work RcBrother, and keep it rollin!!!
im thinking about 35mph full throttle doing a backflip and smacking the lid to a dead stop did the shock tower in, but the chassis braces maybe due to chassis flex watch your video when you change that center diff when its not locked you were running tight turns at high speeds if that aluminum bracing is weak that minght be a manufacturer defect
Aussie dont mind comments that do not have comon sense. I will never abuse a truck like that and I have seen what you can achieve with the Nero so this truck is a tank!! Im sure the X Maxx dont last half of the beaten and it cost $800+!!!!
Hmmmmm.. 1/8 scale MT with tvp chassis issue... this story sounds familiar. Ofna came up with a solution for theirs. Let's see what Arrma will do. Granted the hits where hard. The driving was extreme. But, isn't that what this type of vehicle is designed for? I'm guessing that the way the chassis is designed will make it somewhat of a challenge to get a meaningful brace to bolt up. Also Arrma upgrades are nearly non existent. I guess we just wait and see.
I own two 2wd scts, lemme tell you their fun as hell. I've never had an mt, but if you don't mind breaking bodies the scts gonna be more durable 'cuz the bodies protect the chassis and arms and stuff from breaking. MTs are more capable on rougher terrain, but a few mods to an sc will get you there, also check out cyconxc's channel, you can convert your sct into a trophy truck. I'm planning to do that in a few weeks sc's are generally easier to drive, 'cuz of their low CG, but there's always a trade off. do whatever man
The one guy in the comments saying it breaks too easily. Lmao. Jump your truck over your house at 40mph and have it land upside down on solid packed hard as rock ground and see if yours breaks too easily too!! You could try running it over with a family car and see if it breaks too easy aswell.
what i don't get is that you can get this or an X-Maxx for the same price. Sure, the nero is fast, and high-techy, but the x-maxx is furglin' huge! Maybe it's just me, but I'd rather get an X-Maxx. and I'm no traxxas fanboy either. personally I'd rather get a cheap kit than an expensive RTR, but whatever. I'm a racer, not really a basher. lol Team Associated all the way yo!
I've driven the X-Maxx and although it's size is quite impressive, the $1400 (here in Australia) price and slow speed is not. I'd take the Nero all day long. Far superior in every way. And cheaper ($1150).
Im sorry, but that's a ridiculous statement. These cars only go as fast as you want them to. I geared mine up with a 17T pinion, was using 6S and was pushing it to its limit to see what would give. You can easily drive the same truck on 4S with stock gearing and it becomes a much more tamed animal. It's not ARRMA's fault I was driving it fast and hard, and it's not ARRMA's fault I crashed either. If you "thumbs down" ARRMA for that, then you'll have to do the same for Traxxas, HPI and Thunder Tiger, just to name a few. Just because a car has the ability to go fast, doesn't mean you have to drive it fast all the time.
Actually I do feel two thumbs down, arrma boasts about the truck 6S power and how good it is and to me if you run 6S and the truck literally destructs itself then it should not be rated for 6S... What do you think guy's after seeing your video running 6S and the truck is basically bent and got trashed are going to do go out and buy one if they wanted it for 6S? No way I would not buy this truck to run on 6S after seeing what happened to it... I feel the same way about other RC's if they say it will work on 4S or 6S and you run it and it breaks apart like your arrma nero did then the companies should not recommend running them with that kind of high power voltage lipo set ups.......I am going to spend close to $1000.00 and run 6s through my new truck a few times to almost have to tear it all the way down to repair the carnage? Not correct in my opinion it just can't handle 6S power plain and simple it self destructs. You may differ but this is how I feel about it.
Are you listening to yourself? You're making no sense. The truck didn't self destruct, it took an absolute beating until a massive crash finally broke it. I've driven dozens of other RCs in that same location and doing the same thing and I can tell you that a lot of them didn't do nearly as well. What you're saying is about this truck about other brands is ludicrous. I think you're in the wrong hobby.
If I wasn't such a kit fan boy I'd be looking at the Arrma Nero. It is a beast.
Thanks again for your upload!
Thanks for beating the crap out of it. I think I'll be waiting for a year or so before buying it, hopefully they take care of these issues within the year.

Not really a surprise for such a radically different brand new platform. Thumbs up to Arrma for daring it, this is what helps push the rc market forward.
I didn't think somebody could bash nearly as hard as I do, good on ya! You should seriously be doing QA for these manufacturers btw.
Great vid mate and roundup at the end. Thumbs up from me! One thing is for certain. The truck took some very big impacts there. The damage report does seem fairly extensive though which is a little concerning. that was AWESOME Vas!! Nice Flips too! that's how the Nero Should Run....Great Video!!
Great video iv bought armors talion kraton Senton typhoon and now I just ordered the Nero thanks for your great reviews and videos on all the Armor family great stuff😀
Great video,I like how u put Everthing to the test. Defenetly looked fast, love the that dirt slinging action.
Some of the impacts from them flips where brutal 😜
"One last" but then another bigger one 😀 you were on a roll there! Sending it straight into the upside like that - ouch!
Another excellent video Vas, loving the Nero 👍
Another excellent Vas, loving the Nero 👍

nice mate! great to see arrma killing it! with there newest design :)
Great video Vas. I'd love to see a review of it & a comparison between you're Nero And your Rival.
You are going a bit harder than the average user, I think. Not entirely surprised at the fatigue, Although the motor one is a real oddity
Looks like a very fun truck!
i have just bought this truck today
cant wait to try it tomorrow im only going to run it on 4s to start with need to sort some 6s packs out
you make it look fantastic
i take it on a jump more power lifts the front and less drops the front (noob)
That thing is INSANELY fast! Bummer that some plastic is meh. RPM will make some parts soon.
Keeping it interesting as always 😏 you took one of the badest RC's an on the market an opened up some weak points the manufacturer may have over looked, all great information for the consumer an a badass bash video ta boot👍🏻
I hope arrma will resolve this fee issues about the new Nero but overall Arrma is on my wishlist and that's gunna be the Nero!
Ooohhhhh that's cold
wow! man you have a ton on your plate for the RCS. you have to fix the Nero. then take apart the hip Apache clone. then on top of that all the videos you still have to do lol. and the video I can't wait for us the stampede 4x4 on 4s lol. keep up the good work :)
Great vid.
I know you can't really get this truck anymore.... But what do you think of this truck compared to the new Kratons' and Talions'?
I'm a big fan of DeNiro
wow the way this truck moves reminds me of my erevo so fast
Great video bro, you put it to the test. 👍
Nice video!
Great vid. Love these lengthy ones.

contrary to some posters I was sort of impressed. you beat the hell out of it and it kept on going. just needs some maintenance:)
Awesome video mate 👍
Aussie just brought the truck I want to change the pin 17t can u please make a vid showing how to change it
Hey aussie!! just wondering what conclusion you came to as to the suspention on the arrma nero 6s? what setup are you running? I'm modding mine and I ride similar to the way you do and would like to have my suspension similar to yours. oil grade would be very helpful.
Hey Vasco, have you come across any heating issues on the esc and motor?
if you didn't have such a traction issue you would been dialed with that shock setup ! put the badlands on there and see what it does!;)
Great video!
can you change to the smaller hile piston or maybe less holes i the pistons to make the rebound less
Are there any way to use and aftermarket radio with the servo diffs? I have a 4PL that I would rather use than the stock radio. I was looking at getting this or Losi XXL2-E

i was afraid that this thing would happen the first time i saw that battery tray.

Why not buy another couple of the aluminium chassis cross braces and see if you can modify the front and rear of the TVP's to accept them.
im thinking about 35mph full throttle doing a backflip and smacking the lid to a dead stop did the shock tower in, but the chassis braces maybe due to chassis flex watch your video when you change that center diff when its not locked you were running tight turns at high speeds if that aluminum bracing is weak that minght be a manufacturer defect

Thumbs down Arrma.... I think they make these trucks way to fast for what they are and they just get demolishes at those fast speeds.
