This kinds of movies always give me a vibe of mystery and obscurity. I seek small details that I believe could have been used as inspiration for bigger films like the masterpiece of the Matrix.
This makes me smile, i remember i watched this flick in a bus on a long school trip back home, and for some reason the bootleg DVD said this was an Universal Soldier sequel. I distinctly remembered the movie had this weird cgi opening that just looked dated as shit. We all spent the whole trip laughing at the bad sfx, and how over the top the whole thing was. Now several years later im just glad this thing is still available to watch somehow, so thanks man.

Great cast Matthias hues is always great perfect bad guy. Don Swayze over this time was in alot of low budget flicks i always liked him i think 2 of my favorites are death ring and payback don Swayze is great in both. Amanda wyss is in this she is great in tons of great stuff like better off dead and nightmare on elm street lots more. Hey the old drunk doctor from return of the living dead 2 is in this thats cool and clint howard sweet thats a cast. This is a fun action sci fi movie well worth watching. Thanks for the upload crazy i did not know it but i sure do now and will be seeing it again soon.

One dude did visual effects, David Wainstain and they were great and pretty original. 18:23 video screen, 19:09 beam weapon not just the standard easy to do straight line beam. Well done. Also the cannon weapons 19:55 were great. Excellent fire muzzle flash. And they had at least 3 working units instead of just one. Cool. Liking the flick so far though, thanks.
Low-Budget-Movies back then were masterpieces now they are just terrible. Rented this out on video many times from my impact store rentals in the UK it is a classic. The weapons kind of remind of Leaf Blowers LMAO!!! how did they keep a straight face?.
I think you don't understand the mindset behind low budget movie making. This, like many others, was primarily aimed at the rental and home market. So you throw them out fast and hope that it sticks, if not make the next one. Like everything, this is about making money. - former VFX artist/VFX supervisor

I think this direct-to-video masterpiece was mentioned in a LWPro Magazine article by the (single?) lead animator of the movie. It was done relatively cost effective in Lightwave 4.0.
Decent movie. I expected less thinking it was low budget, and it may have been low budget. If it was, the director did wonders with it. If it was a low budget, just think what Roth could have done if it was large budget movie. Good acting also.
