You can safely blank the EGR pipe at the EGR cooler if you believe that the EGR cooler is leaking/bypassing. You do not need to remap the ECM but, an EGR delete is best so the code is not stored. The 4M50 engine is very prone to cooling issues. It is a solid engine and will last for a long time however, the cooling fan hub often sticks. You should be able to stop (wearing gloves) the fan from spinning when engine is cold and when engine is hot, watch the fan when shutting down. It should stop immediately and not run on. The EGR cooler is prone to internally leak. It is built very lightly and of thin metal. When the cooler corrodes inside, it will crack and cause exhaust to enter coolant side. The radiator/pressure cap is poorly seated on housing neck. You need to carefully measure/check distance of radiator cap sealing compression and housing depth. It helps to fold down the tabs of a pressure cap to get a better seal. If the pressure cap opens prematurely, the cooling system pressure will not hold and the coolant can boil. The head gasket is also something that gives up at around 150,000 kms. If you have CO2 in the coolant (at the pressure cap housing neck) it will be either the EGR cooler or head gasket.
I have the same make 4m50 engine Mitsubishi, but the problem is the revs are not going beyond 3 and taking long to respond to gears with an engine check light on. What could be the problem

Sounds like a fuel issue to me. Could be a bad fuel filter or metering pump is not opening fully. Change the fuel filter for a start..
@@Dave-qp8rq am glad it's now back into normal operation. The fuel tank had dirty particles which were affecting the injectors.
