So you can click the link in the bio and get my template for Cubase 13, Logic, Ableton, Pro Tools, Studio One, Reaper, FL Studio.
Austin!! You are a life saver ! Thank you for making music-making fun ❤️
Thanks for this clear and thorough rundown, Austin! It’s so interesting to me to learn about someone else’s process and method of organization!
I really appreciate this templete Austin. I use Ableton and have donwloaded it straight away, like you I'm setting up a lot of my own audio channels and saving it ready to work at tomorrow! 👏🙌
Super helpful video Austin 🙏 I started making templates a few years ago and it’s been life changing for my production / mix workflow. Got some great ideas from this video, thank you!
I like the routing of all parts at the bottom, I saw a video of Dave Pensado doing something similar and I've been doing that for a while too since then!
Awesome 👍🏼 thanks Austin!!
Loved the video, would love to see a template for FL Studio in the future
Wow so cool of you to do this!!!! Love MPM!!!
Awesome content as always.
Fantastic Templates ... thank you so much, makes everything so much easier
that's amazing... I like your content so much I bought the sample packs even thought I'm not making so much pop. Wishing you the best 👊👊👊👊
Nice to see this video. Thank you for the freebie, very clutch.
This is awesome, thank you!
Let’s freaking go!!!! Finally some love for Logic lol.
Thank you very much. ✌🏻✨🎶😉 I will take a look.
Done! , thanks papi
It will be awesome to have one with cubase stock plugins and for some genre or type of songs nices video like always austin!
This is the same way I lay out my projects, nice video man
Sweet🎉
thanks!
Thanks
I see people asking for templates for specific DAW's. I feel like a template would be relative (or specific) to a few different things.
Firstly, you'll probably wanna have quite a few templates depending on what your using them for. DAW's actually have built-in templates that you can use. If you open a blank project you can simply open a few tracks, create a few folders and busses and BINGO! You have a template. It's kind of the same theory as having a vocal chain or any effects chain. It always depends on what your working on. If you're working on ONE single album where you want all the song to have to same "vibe" then you might want to use the same vocal or effects chains for all the tracks. If you're like me and your're recording a Top 40 Pop song one day and Alternative Rock song the next, your templates or effects chains will be relative (or specific) to whatever genre your working on.
Man thanks for the freebies. I know you’ve gone into your FX chains here and there but it’d be cool to have a dedicated vid for all your FX chains. Maybe you already do?
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
thank you!!!
What a great video! I would like to know if you can create a template for users of older versions of Ableton, I currently have Ableton Live 10 and unfortunately I cannot access the Template.
Thanks Austin!
Yoooooooooo 🔥
Great video and great template thank you. I have one question and that is how so you remove the vac's as I don't have the outboard gear like you have? Thanks
Wow, that's so great Austin! There is for Studio One6 version, but not for Studio one5. Is it possible to make for Studio One5
is there any alternate for the short rev that would work just as good as Verbsuite? any waves reverb? and please can u someday include your own Vox chain in the updated template. your vocals are always so crispy clean. especially ruin my life! please do consider. you are a Godsend!!
Austin can you recommend a DrumPad for Cubase that recognizes Groove Agent
Austin, any word on a spring sale on the website? Wanna get some of dem preset packs!! 😎💯 Thanks, man!
come back in 1 week 👀
Its possible to get your templates with your plugin-placeholder, so i can learn more in depth (without copy all of your secrets :). Thank you so much for your work and skills.
Ever try LUNA?
2:35 - How did you open that external Tempo Track Editor??? Is it possible to open similar types of windows for regular automation lanes?
Edit: found it under Project>Tempo Track. Always finding great new Cubase features I wasn't aware of!
Ctrl+T is my command 😁
I just downloaded both the FL Studio and Live templates. I opened them, and I immediately didn't know what the hell was going on.
Shows how little I know lol🤣
Austin, this is great - thank you. Question - Does having (in Logic terminology) folders in folders in folders to VCA's affect overall latency and sync among tracks?
Cubase folders don’t have any routing. Just organization. My groups don’t cause latency unless you load them up with plugins.
We have VCA faders in Cubase but they work differently than these groups.
@@MakePopMusic thank you.
I dont need routing folders. I prefer normal folders for organizing plus group channels = Way better handling of big projects and with the use of track class visibility management.
Could we analyze the logic?
Great video, great templates. A question I have though is why do you have, for example, "Main Drums" as a folder, then in that folder a "Group - Main Drums" track that takes all the routing. Wouldn't it be simpler to have all the individual tracks within a Folder route directly through that -- would save a Track per folder, and a bunch of extra routing.
Caveat: I'm coming from Reaper where folders are always just tracks with sub-tracks, so it automatically sends things up through the parent. If it's different in Cubase and this can't be done, then it makes sense.
Folders in Cubase don’t contain routing. They’re just organizational tools.
@@MakePopMusic Cool yeah that makes sense. I'll adjust the Reaper one you provided to take advantage of their track-based folder system -- thanks!
@@eselle Did you ever get around to this? If so are you comfortable sharing?
Hi, Austin. Thanks so much for making your template available in so many DAWs. I'm currently using it to mix our latest single in Logic and it has made things a ton easier. I have a question. I noticed that on your template you have the lead vocal parallel compression track and the lead vocal widening tracks located within the FX channels group. These are both routed to the Vocal FX return group. In my own template, I would have had these grouped with the lead vocal tracks and had it routed to the Lead Vocals group so that their volume can be automated along with the lead vocal. However, there may be advantages to doing it like you have it in your template. If so, I'd be really interested. There could be some pro's to doing it this way that I'm missing. Thank you again.
I want them going to their own return group so when the artist has “group - lead vocals” bounced out it’s a dry stem.
Also, I’ll have harmonies and dubs to those FX tracks as well so having it come back into my Group - Lead Vocal track would have all of those background vocal wet fx in there.
I also have an ALL VOCALS group so if I want to automate all the vocals and wet fx I just do it there.
Thank you! That makes sense. @@MakePopMusic
Cubase 13 Pro user here. How did you get the new track color to automatically apply the way it does in this video around 5:56? Whenever I add a track the way you've shown it never automatically applies the color...
Thank you.
hey bro the link to the templates is not working anymore? Could put up a new one please?
Why are all group tracks set to -5 db rather than set at unity gain?
so I can gain stage into my secondary groups and busses.
Great video presentation.
I want to download the Logic template. When I click Logic in the Free DAW list, it sends me to a WeTransfer page where it says "You're almost there. Click to agree Terms of Service"
- but it's not clickable.
I'm logged-in (it says my account name in upper right corner) .
I can't figure out how to proceed, as the button it says I need to click is not 'active' .
What am I missing here?
Thank you.
Weird, it's showing on my end and tons of other people. Do you have a pop up blocker on? Maybe try creating a free We transfer account too.
It worked in Safari (I guess Chrome is somehow blocking without telling me)
All good now, thank you @@MakePopMusic
One more question if you don't mind - do you use the same template when mixing someone else's project, that is, when you're given raw tracks to mix. Or do you have a different template for "just mixing jobs". Oh, and while I'm at it - do you master directly from the 2 bus in this project? Thanks.
I use the same one!
@@MakePopMusic thanks.
Do you need specific plugins to use a template?
No! There are no plugins on the template. It's just my routing, color coding, organization, and workflow!
I downloaded the Logic Preset but the actual Logic File is missing
updated it with instructions. The folders are the Logic File.
No Bitwig :(
wher is it
Will this template work in Cubase 12 . . ?
No but I can upload some for 12!
@@MakePopMusic = Please do 🤗
@@MakePopMusic ~ Please do so 🤗
Austin where’s the template for fl studio?😔
FL routing isn’t similar enough. If someone can figure out how to make my template in there, I’ll pay them to make one. Hahaha
Please make 1 for FL😢
working on it!
What a shame, I would like to have the template with the protools effects and processing, could you release it to us?
just copy my chains from this video and save it. I didn't do my exact ones because most people won't have my exact plugins.
What about FL studio 😢😢😢😢😢
Couldn't figure out how to make the routing kinda similar. If someone can, I'll pay them to make a FL template!
I hate to be that guy but don't mix in FL 💀💀reaper is ""free"" use reaper if you can't afford anything else(tbh even if you can reaper is just very good)
I love writing in FL and use templates I've made with drums/synths that get slightly changed depending on the song but I don't care about reverb/delay/sidechaining etc when writing I just want good sounds prerouted to the mixer for easy stem exporting.
lol.
@@MakePopMusic i can make the template for the flstudio 21
@MakePopMusic I can make it for FL Studio. I mix in fl.
Ableton Template - Transfer expired
Fixed
@@MakePopMusic Thanks 🙏
Wait! Where FL?? FL is one of the most used DAWs in the market lol
if they had normal routing I could do it! Trying to figure it out
@@MakePopMusicgotcha! Yeah FL's whole workflow/setup is completely different than all the other daws, thanks for the vid tho, still found some gems in it.
Links are expired. Reupload please.
Done!
Do you hate FL STUDIO?
yeah
oh dude!!! been following you since 4k subs, I didn't know that. lol@@MakePopMusic
