She'd even probably be a bit more gentle with her whip while he was in the hospital and might hold back during the post trial celebration. Probably ain't long past game 3 before Franziska whipping Phoenix is more a sign of affection than anything like it is with Gumshoe.
I personally think she has a weird kind of appreciation for gumshoe, I think It would be funny if (spoilers for the 2nd game)- She intentionally kept gumshoe's old coat and got embarrassed when edgewhort caught her with it
My headcanon is that she gave him that Maya's card (from 2-4) during her visit, which inspired Nick to not give up. Just like Maya always find a reason to keep going, then Nick has to as well!

Quick tip, when you have Phoenix talk while a femal character is on screen, make sure to change the blip noise to Male, otherwise Phoenix will have a high pitched voice whenever a woman is on screen 😅

Over-the-top tsunderes just make me uncomfortable in general for their disingenuousness and lack of honesty and consistency. Love curses and personality-based mind control in general make me uncomfortable too :P

I mean I doubt they’d even use the whip on somebody hospitalized, they’re already badly injured so the whip would be a lot worse than usual
