Yeah, my mom, and husband....they don't say anything, but they look around (and, I'm 52 & mom is 75) when changing lanes, or husband being fidgety when I drive slower than him (he goes more than 10 miles over limit).
My elderly father. He was an aggressive driver. If I allow other people to enter our lane in front of us -- or if I yield to other drivers -- he snarls.

...but until then I feel bad for him.
In an episode, Onslow invites Richard for beers (gets really drunk) and asks him how he puts up with Hyacinth. He answers that it's just like the army, he gets an "order" and he obeys.

@@bored.in.california2111 I actually was in the finance branch, way before automation (direct deposit) and I got out as soon as I could (served 4 yrs). Too much butt-kissing to stay longer than that!
@@marinazagrai1623 Any butt kissing is worth it if you have a position or a salary goal in mind. When you have a dead end job and your end goal is just getting better at your dead end job; you eventually snap. I currently work in a job like that and I feel like Richard. One difference though I don't have a crumb of patience that the man has.

@@jimmysweringen242 it's plausible but not likely I don't think that actor had a twin brother not that I have heard of maybe he has but probably not but there are people who look like other people in this world_ it's just that in this scene it looks like the Richard character is doing both roles that of the petrol station attendant, and that of the husband of the ham pack woman hyacinth.

Patricia Routledge has a wonderful singing voice, she is a classically trained singer. There are a couple of clips here on YT if you want to look.

😀With what kind of of Tongs would you need for a task that challenging now we are wondering. Last time I heard while some guys were trying to decide on that one instead princess Anne decided to step out on her own just for awhile on the other side of the vehicle just to distract a guy who was firing a lot of bullets in different directions often at the time.
They were brilliant and Richard had the patience of a Saint.

1986 216 Rover is the car that they drive in the show. Some people liked it and some people thought it was pure garbage. But somehow it fits Hyacinth. I can't imagine her in anything else. Hyacinths is a lot like me mum when it comes to being a backseat driver.
