  • Ken Rosenthal reported that Matt Chapman is willing to move to SS temporarily to accommodate a Ha-Seong Kim signing. How it could make sense, and why it really doesn't make sense.

Shoulders once damaged is sometimes never the same, especially labrum damage. That makes Kim a highly suspect signing.

Thanks guys for answering my comment! It means a lot 😊. I just cannot see chappy at SS though with his defensive skills at 3B. If this is a real issue with HSK and he’s not ready till second half, find another alternative to not have to move chappy or don’t sign HSK in the first place. Thoughts?

Are you guys going to do an emergency(Good One albeit) broadcast to celebrate the Adames signing?

That's what was quoted from Chappy.....temporarily....and he mentioned Kim. I still say Kim is the better option to sign. Much cheaper than Adames and has speed. MLB Network said the Giants were in the hunt, but would have to overpay by a decent amount, since they aren't contenders. Boras said that Kim could be ready far earlier than expected.

Fitzgerald looks like a solid SS option moving forward, with high potential to develop as a 5 tool player. Kim can play 2b. Leave Chap at 3rd

Fitzgerald was god awful defensively at SS and should never be considered again for an everyday role at short. I don’t mind him filling in there in spot starts or as a short term filler due to injury but if he’s our everyday guy there we have a problem. He is a much better fit for 2B or as a super utility guy that still plays 5x/week.
