Best Dirty Harry film out the lot. The original and best, I quite liked The Enforcer but Sudden Impact wasn't great... They get worse and worse but "Dirty Harry" is one of the best crime thrillers ever made. Classic film and very violent.
I think Magnum Force was almost as good as Dirty Harry but it’s al of the outrage over Harry’s Fascist tendencies and violence towards criminals, the second one was written to make him a more liked character who wouldn’t team up with police vigilantes. There was also more humor injected into the plot to make it slightly lighter in time
Dirty Harry in its day was one of the highest grossing movie franchises of its day. That this franchise hasn't been rebooted is testament to the incompetence at Warner Bros, especially given crime today & the political environment.

This feels like a surprisngly badly put-together trailer, from the pacing to the narration. I've seen much more enticing trailers from B-movies. One problem with this trailer is that it starts with the premise of Dirty Harry being a killer, but doesn't really follow through on that theme throughout.
I believe the role was offered to the Duke first, but he didn’t like the idea of a cop breaking the rules. Backflipped and made McQ after this was a smash hit

So I think everyone misses out in the opening trailer that this is a movie about a couple of killers, you are NOT supposed to be on the side of Dirty Harry. He about as big if not just as big of a psychopath as Scorpio.
I wouldn't necessarily call Callahan a psychopath, but the original film does show him at points to be as much of a killer as the criminals he hunts. That's one crucial detail the sequels lacked in my opinion.

So they are really going to make him less complicated of a character. Not that the sequels are bad, they just don't have what is going on in the first film.

Next week on Dec 21,2021 will mark the 50th anniversary of the film's release. I've enjoyed the entire Dirty Harry series ever since.
