Glenn, me and the husband have got you and your lovely walks to thank for getting into hiking. We've just got back from a weekend in the lakes. We aren't fit enough (yet) for the Old Man, but we did enjoy Skiddaw Dodd yesterday! We're aiming for higher fells every time. In the meantime, we love tagging along on your walks, waffle an all! Thank you from both of us 😊
My husband and I have been so inspired by you and our love of walking has been reignited meaning we are spending quality time with each other so Thankyou, BTW we now also greet all the herdwicks with a “hey herdys” 😂❤
Here in the western US we have Canyon Wrens that sing the most beautiful song. They are always a treat to hear in canyons in the mountains and deserts.
Just started watching this series from the beginning while working out in the Gym . Trying to get back to 'Hill fitness' after a little bit of Cancer. I find them amazing to walk/cycle to giving me a bit of encouragement along the way. Keep them going as they keep me going !! Thanks.
Through your mistakes of not taking your camera, learn and take it always, you being so connected to the earth . . Feeling the high. Being alone and tuning in to the energy. Is like another place and time.
Good evening Craig One again thanks for the beautiful walk even though it was dull but still beautiful looking forward to the next one Craig have a gd evening 😊
3 times I've been up Coniston old man and every time the weather's been wet and windy with no views. Last time it was a hailstorm on the summit. Seen it from other fells on a clear day and it looks like the views would be incredible. Makes me appreciate the good days that much more though!
Great vlog Glenn omg 😳 I didn’t like you going in those caves lol 😂 never would I lol 😂 want great landscape England is truly beautiful 🤩 how lucky we are. 💙
Reminds me of the last time I did the Old Man - all clagged up and a howling gale trying its best to blow me off the mountain. You're right, it's the toughest walks which are the most memorable
The story of the young guys with no gear reminded me of a walk on the Old Man ….met two guys when I was on the way down . They asked how far off the top they were . I said they were about a quarter of the way up . I looked down and they were wearing Flip Flops !
Had the pleasure of meeting you on our way up as you were coming down, you were gracious with your time and stopped to chat, much appreciated. You said it was a bit claggy at the top and that was an understatement!fantastic to meet you, all the best. Bryan
Love that area! Was up round Levers Water a few weeks ago with my little boy, after seeing your video on Black Sails. Stunning views all round and a great hike 'n Camp 😉
Lovely area, I stayed in the row houses in coppermine valley for the week and everyday was bleak but totally worth exploring. I also to drive up that private road and that was a nightmare further up 😂. Great vid!😊
Glen, I'm with you on this one. I would call the views awesome when you can see them. 😂There's nothing like that feeling that you get when being on top of a mountain. We will definitely do this walk when we come to the lakes in July. Thank you for your time.
Just watched on Patreon but always like to support you here aswel. Thanks for yet another stunning walk/watch we really do appreciate the time you take to make these for us. You chatting away to us with that scenery is always very comforting. Great work Glenn😃🙏
Love the copper mine area and the old man we got the view at the top for five mins then got the clag we was at the pudding stone five years today, you once said your favourite beer was sneck lifter you should of had a pint of old man at the bull it’s very similar , ps are you at down load again this’s year
Im the same, up and at it early, and back down before the crowds descend upon the fells.....I did practically the same walk the other week, it's a beautiful part of the Lakes.....Keep up the good work buddy 👋
Great vid mate, fantastic territory, definitely the stuff of LOTR! I remember those guys well! Now then, can you tell me what happened at 38.26? - was it a ghost talking? 🤔👍
Excellent video as always. Did this in April but up the 'tourist path' and down via Goats water, which turned out to be a very long, tedious and boulder strewn path down to meet Walna Scar Road. Wish (we) had kept going and come down via Brown Pike.
Excellent as always and so very inspiring to new comers like myself or the hiking world why I didn’t start this years ago I never know but once again thank you for being such an inspiration
Your videos are very well made it’s thanks to you I’m following in your footsteps tackling the wainwrights, just recently completed the Mardale Common route those views towards the end on the old corpse road were epic!
I’m curious about the rock piles are these for potential shelter build’s ? Or for a good safe trip is something like this? Bolder valley looks a bit sketch for rock fall. But still some epic shots to be taken there cloud or no cloud always worth taking the camera👍
Sadly those girls are still sitting in the pub, waiting for the men, who are now ghosts wandering around the fells asking people 'Which one is the Old Man?'
Enjoyed that, deffo the route I'll take next time up the old man. I fancy a wander through one of the mines. I saw a vid on here of a group going all the way through, said it wasn't too difficult, just had to find the entrance!
This might be a silly/random question but what is the rocky paths on this route like for dogs do you reckon? I know most dogs are fine on tough terrain, but I am always worried on certain walks on when to take the spaniel or not haha
Love your passion for an early start. You should always take a garlic sausage butty for summit. Thanks for sharing as always. Can we see finn master on next one. Hope its great end!❤ rave on my freind,
Ta very much for watching 😊 Want even more waffle? Join the The Black Clan - www.patreon.com/theblackclan
Anyone else love the introduction music? Very relaxing 🫴🏻
It ALWAYS puts a smile on our faces as we settle in to watch.
Yeah I think the intro music sets the tone fir the rest of the vlog 😊🎉
Does anyone know what the introduction music is called, please? I love it.
Yes, that's a beautiful piece of music that. As you say, very soothing.
Yeeesssss meeeeee i love the starts the most. Love the music, highlights and the map route. Love this guy so much xxxx
Not difficult to see why your subscriptions are going up so quickly, the best videos and knowledge of the Lake District.
Far over the misty mountains cold, to dungeons deep and caverns old….
- Ontario, Canada
Brilliant. Atmospheric and ancient
The sun shining through the mist and cloud above the cottages around 5:20 was absolutely stunning
Love a pint of Old Man Ale at the Black Bull. Cracking beer.
The tunnels certainly look like they have been what they call backfilled
Having a great time watching your videos,Missing little Finn, hopefully she’ll be back soon😊😊
Beautiful just beautiful, thank you once more for taking us with you.

Another thing I like about this TH-cam channel: you show the fells when they are covered by cloud.
It’s great that each walk ends up with a nice pint….definitely signed up to that tradition myself🍺
Through your mistakes of not taking your camera, learn and take it always, you being so connected to the earth . . Feeling the high. Being alone and tuning in to the energy. Is like another place and time.
1st class wafflage, as ever. Many thanks!
Good evening Craig
One again thanks for the beautiful walk even though it was dull but still beautiful looking forward to the next one Craig have a gd evening 😊
Thanks for sharing the OS route! We're gonna try this next month!
Fascinating Glenn and you've planted a seed as I've never taken the path up to Levers Hause but it's now added to my to-do list. 👍

Thank you for your efforts to take the time to show us the many altenative and not so well known routes in and around the lakes.
Another brilliant episode xxxx

Going campin at torver next month. This walk is definitely on my list now. Cheers

Stunning scenery - how blessed you guys are.
Lovely area, I stayed in the row houses in coppermine valley for the week and everyday was bleak but totally worth exploring. I also to drive up that private road and that was a nightmare further up 😂. Great vid!😊
As usual another cracking vid !!
Another great video Glenn, thanks for taking us with you.
I love the introduction music, it so matches the scenery and landscape around, very relaxing 😌👌x
Wanted to do the old man in April but the weather was just too poor, next time I will do that for sure, great video mate.
Great video Glen.
I know just how you feel about leaving your camera. I even dream some nights about being somewhere amazing and I’ve left my camera at home.
Love your vids and especially your waffling ! Have been an inspiration to do more and go on my own adventures. Stay safe, from Abilene ,TX
Glen, I'm with you on this one. I would call the views awesome when you can see them. 😂There's nothing like that feeling that you get when being on top of a mountain. We will definitely do this walk when we come to the lakes in July. Thank you for your time.
This video is awesome, some wonderful scenery 👍

😂
I thought it was maybe a mine tour guide. I definitely heard it too.
Excellent video as always. Did this in April but up the 'tourist path' and down via Goats water, which turned out to be a very long, tedious and boulder strewn path down to meet Walna Scar Road. Wish (we) had kept going and come down via Brown Pike.
So look forward to Sundays and hope you have posted another one and i like the "waffle".
Those lads may have had good intentions. They may have also caused mountain rescue teams to risk their lives whilst trying to rescue them.
Excellent as always and so very inspiring to new comers like myself or the hiking world why I didn’t start this years ago I never know but once again thank you for being such an inspiration

I am so loving your subtle hilarity! You are funny! Excuse my ignorance but are those white stakes, on the gentle hills, young tree supports?
Don’t forget the mars bar in the bag to 🤣🤣
I think I was your 'first walker of the day' 😂 (OMM twin).
I’m curious about the rock piles are these for potential shelter build’s ? Or for a good safe trip is something like this?
Bolder valley looks a bit sketch for rock fall.
But still some epic shots to be taken there cloud or no cloud always worth taking the camera👍
Fab video - brings back some memories! Technical Q - what did you use to record this walk - GoPro, Insta360 or Osmo? Cheers!
Can you do more wild camping please
Sadly those girls are still sitting in the pub, waiting for the men, who are now ghosts wandering around the fells asking people 'Which one is the Old Man?'
Damn-blasted buggeration 😂😂
Enjoyed that, deffo the route I'll take next time up the old man. I fancy a wander through one of the mines. I saw a vid on here of a group going all the way through, said it wasn't too difficult, just had to find the entrance!
FYI - Mordor is in Wales…
This might be a silly/random question but what is the rocky paths on this route like for dogs do you reckon? I know most dogs are fine on tough terrain, but I am always worried on certain walks on when to take the spaniel or not haha
Not a silly question at all 😊 A healthy dog would have no problem on this walk. Even Finn at her age would probably be OK with all of it 👍
Love your passion for an early start. You should always take a garlic sausage butty for summit. Thanks for sharing as always. Can we see finn master on next one. Hope its great end!❤ rave on my freind,
Never fail to impress Glenn, another great video, bleak but beautiful
Too many people. Too much poo. Don’t think I’ll ever walk up there other in the deepest of winter.
