Your health is huge when it comes to quality of life at all stages of life, it’s something that way too many ignore until it’s too late.
Example of two people I know with completely different lifestyles, my mother (who smokes, drinks and has never exercised or tried to look after herself in any way) and an older friend who is met through coaching sport (that keeps active, eats well and prides himself on his healthy lifestyle) both are mid/late 60’s.
One’s able to ride a mountain bike on single track through the mountains all day on a banana and a camelback of water keeping up with fit people 20 years younger, is sharp as a tack, dating women, enjoying life. The other is using a walking frame to walk 20m, can’t step down a step without risk of falling, has been in and out of hospital 5 times in the last 6 weeks and now has a nurse visiting her at home multiple times a week at the age most think they are going to be travelling around enjoying retirement…….
Seriously health is the foundation of your life, don’t ignore it.

Good health, great K-12 education, good work ethic, and stock market was all I needed to become financially independent. I like to keep it simple. College degree made me feel good, but didn't add much monetary value. It's all very individual.

Good video. But I wonder why you never talk about International Bonds. Your 3 fund strategy is solid with a Total Index Stock (VTSAX), Total Intl Stock (VTIAX) and Total Bond (VBTLX). But I've noticed on Vanguard's Target Date funds (like VTTHX or VFORX) or Vanguards Balanced Funds (VBIAX) all have some Intl Bond allocation thrown in. Why is this good or bad? This might make a good video.

health is important, as someone who is not a financial advisor, your experiences may change with age (hiking kilimanjaro is possible at 70, but you may have completed at a younger age and enjoyed more without as much pain.) Spending time with family and friends will also make you feel good, where cash cannot fill the void. Stocks and mutual funds may be good, but if one chooses to get into real estate, they may not want to put all of time into updating their house at Lowe's every weekend. Many choices to make. Try to remember your health allows you to have experiences. p.s. Kilimanjaro was fun at 33 and I hiked with a 68 year old friend.
