I was in Ecuador in 2017, walking down the streets in Loja, I tripped on the side walk and felt on my face, within seconds there were 3 young people immediately rushing to help me out, the restaurant near by brought me a glass of water, and the kids asked me if I needed help going home. You have no idea how proud I was to know that my people haven’t change since I was a child, they still have the same kindness and respect for the older generations.
Don! Great to see you! Jewel and Eugene seem like such wonderful people. What a wonderful story! I hope that our own migration to Ecuador is as wonderful and exciting as both yours and theirs! Thanks to all three of you for sharing!
Good afternoon Don. My name is Ron and I watch your videos. First of all, thank you for sharing. My Wife and I are in Manta this week for an explanatory visit to see if we wish to move here. Maybe we can buy you and girlfriend breakfast or dinner? We are staying at the Poseidon. Thank you.
Hi Ron, I eat at Dulce & Cremoso in the Mall Del Pacifico every morning at 9. It's located just inside the north entrance (across from beach). You're welcome to drop in and join me at your convenience.
I met Jewel in a facebook group a couple of days ago. She's the number 1 reason that I'm looking to Ecuador when I retire. Before meeting her I planned on going to Panama. Great interview as usual.
Again, Great video Don. Love these one on one videos Don. I like to hear these Personal experiences and motivate me to leave the States. I sold my home in 2021 in the real estate frenzy, and now rent near Austin Texas. I was going to buy again, but the apartment manager told me, "if I were in your shoes I would be an expat". As I told you Don, I did work for the Federal Government in South America, even married a Colombian woman. But each time inwatch these videos it motivates me to leave the states. I am divorce, no children, pension. Only problem I have is somewhat of a bad lower back, but I have watched JP and Amelia, and JP mentioned that he also has a bad back, so I take it there is a good medical specialist for the spine in Ecuador. Great video Don and may write this couple because I am ex-federal employee and would like to know how in Ecuador he is able to conduct business with OPM. Great Video and keep up the great work
Hi Don, I'm like # 121, and thank you for your efforts to present this video with Spanish subtitles. One video at a time, you continue to make the world a better place.
Great interview! We have been discussing move abroad destinations with some really close friends of ours. They are African American. I know and love Ecuador very much but I can not testify as to how it would be for our friends. So it is great to hear that this couple and many others feel at home!
Me too, Mr. Parker! Thank you for this video Don, I enjoyed both of your friend's advice and perspectives on Ecuador and what lead them there. What a lovely couple!! 💚
@@DonShader you're most welcome Don and, these two people, I just know, I would love to run into when I finally come down Thanks again and, take care..👍
Awesome interview, I think my heart is set on Cuenca because of the weather, just hoping to get use to the Altitude, but I love the chilly, rainy weather. My favorite State in America is Washington state, unfortunately I can’t afford to live there.
Another great interview from Don. You find interesting and informative people to interview and love your easygoing style. This couple seems very nice and happy with their decision to move to Ecuador and Manta in particular. I can’t wait to join the expat community.
Love love love this interview. I’ve been trying to convince my husband to come to Ecuador. His main comment was no AA people; guess we are one step closer now! Is there a way to get into touch w the AA community? FB page? Thanks again Don. Hope to meet you in person one day.
There is a AA community here but I'm not aware of any Facebook page that's been started by one. Please come and perhaps when you get here, I'll help you start one and it can be your page.
I really enjoyed watching the interview with this beautiful couple. I’m inspired by their experience and information living in Mantra. Do you have their contact information? I’m considering making a decision to move to Ecuador. Thank you.

I guess there are no laws to be able to sue the municipality as there are in the US.

There is an awesome orthopedic surgeon right here in Manta that's considered to be the BEST in Ecuador. Dra. Juan Fernandez.
Thanks for watching.

What were the reasons they don't like flying from Guayaquil or Quito?
I conducted this interview several months ago. I can't remember that far back to be able to answer your question.
