Good review especially for us guys with slow swing speeds. Your reviews at the different swing speeds helps us choose the right irons for us. Keep up the good reviews
Glad you got something from the video and you enjoyed it 👍
Agreed, it's so helpful!
Hi Jay! Hot Metal Pro vs Pro 245 please!
Hi Joe, coolio it's now on the list 👍🏻 👍🏻
Thanks Jay!
Yes, this I would watch closely as well 😀
Yes please!!
great review, love to see if new HL is "better" than my 923HL?
Wasn't thinking about doing that compare but it does seem as though there is some interest in it 👍🏻
Same here, I am also interested in the 4i in the HL. My 923hl's doesn't have that.
After many years of mid & high end clubs I've just gone back to my 10 year old JPX800's amazing clubs for little money.
Going to watch again so you get credit for my view 👍
Thanks very much for that and very much appreciate the support 👍🏻 👍🏻
Seems like Mizuno and Titleist are on to something with this cavity shell design. Very interesting.
RandD moves on and creates more inventive ways to do things... People sometime think it has to end sometime and are the improvements going to tail off. Yet the same argument is true for Formula One and the teams always funds inventive ways to circumvent regs and design new ways to eek more performance out 😊👍🏻
It is 10+ yrs old now 🤣
@@CoryLancasterYT all golf clubs really are the same basic design, it hasn't changed since very very early days. But how they are made and what they are made from has changed a ctlrazy amount. Very much like the car 👍🏻
Great review Jay as I mentioned earlier the question for my irons continues a slow swinger (. 74 mph). My best descent figures so far are T350 at 46 degrees , G430 and Srixon ZX4 at 43 and 44 degrees.. tomorrow trying the Wilson Dynapwr forged and standard irons, and new Ping irons.
46 degrees is actually steeper than i would expect from an optimal flight from a 29 degree iron @74
@@andy_bickley yes I thought a touch to steep and of course lost distance.
@sevesellors2831 swing speed is always a difficult trade off. The Tour have it so easy swinging in the higher speed bracket, it just makes golf much easier 😊👍🏻
I am curious what you think would be a good blended set make up of the HL and Pros where the HL would be the long irons and the Pros would be the scoring irons?
Love your videos! Appreciate all your hard work.
I'm still playing the Mizuno JPX 800 pros from over a decade ago. How do you think they would stack up to the current models?
At a guess I'd say there will be a small increase in like for like distance, peak height improvements but more importantly I'd expect to see forgiveness gains from off centre strikes 👍🏻
@@AskGolfNutWhat do you think is the equivalent club to the JPX 800 pro?
I was looking in the store and the pro 243, jpx tour and forged looked in the zone. The other jpx 923 and the 245 looked pretty big/chunky to me.
I ask because I’m trying to baseline my irons against the current offering to help inform my next set.
Yes I know I need a fitting (and I’ll get one), but I’m curious what you think. :)
Just can’t get the look of this series, but as with all Mizuno clubs they clearly perform. Your reviews make it easy to pre fitting, list clubs of interest. When paying for a fitting which is time critical, that’s very helpful. Good job Jay
Glad you like it, just released the Pro version Full Review, give that one a watch if you want the same as the Hot Metal but with a little nicer dimensions 👍👍
Jay slow swing speed 75mph 7i. But with reasonable delivery AofA -4, slightly in to out, open 0.1. Concerned the lofts on the HM and HMP are too low but don't need or like the look of off sett of the HL's. Leans me toward 245 so looking forward to that comparison. I'd expect the JPX to have more pop off the face. As the new clubs are more forgiving my preferred line up would have been HMP as is but now for majority. And two version with Traditional modern lofts one with off set and one without. What do you think is the fastest, Modern traditional loft without Off set. 245 or another Callaway, PXG etc. Really good reviews by the way.
So assuming were talking about irons with a loft between 30-32, the the fastest iron is the TM 790 followed by the T-200, The T-200 has far more speed retention on miss hits out of the two.
Another way would be to look to weaken off the lofts of these by 2 degrees so they match that of say the 245s. So you know have a higher launching iron for your speed and angle of attack whilst keeping the forgiveness benefits that the Hot Metals provide... 👍🏻👍🏻
I just got fit for 923 HMs and they were supposed to ship out this week. Got a call from my Fitter saying they were out of 923 heads and got me a free upgrade to 925s. Not sure how I feel about it since I haven’t seen them or hit them yet. Looks like I’ll find out in 2-3 weeks
That's massively unfortunate although you aren't the 1st person to have said the same thing.... Fitters have known for some time now that the new series was upon us, when I was Coaching and Custom Fitting full time I always used to tell my clients that there is an expected change to give them the option to carry on or look at rebooking when the new irons arrive.... This situation commonly is because some places will do anything to keep the sale in house rather than risk sending you off for a few weeks and risk you going elsewhere... Hmmm.... The JPX925 irons though are very very good, they do look considerably different though 👍🏻👍🏻
Trying to remember what i said on the first video lol. Basically there is not currently an iron that you will find that retains more speed from toe strikes than this. Its above average on heel strikes and about average from lower strikes. With a center smash of 1.4 its as fast as current materials really allow.
Comparison with these to past iteration would be beneficial
JPX925 Hot Metal vs JPX923 Hot Metal is defo on the list 👍🏻 👍🏻
@@AskGolfNut 👍👍
Hopefully video dropping today 🤞🤞🤞
Jay would the 70 mph golfer be better fitted for the 925hl model ? Is it possible the decent angle would be much higher ?
@@jbh199 absolutely, without question. I have the HL Full Forgiveness Review coming this afternoon at 3:30pm UK Time. Gap test etc as well to see if there is consistency through the set with tech and loft changes 👍🏻
The efficiency on those shots out of the sole is absolutely silly. That’s very impressive
Yep no one was as surprised as me when my Quad kept on chucking out eye popping numbers from clearly terrible hits. The ability to retain ball speed is just silly 🙂👍
Even better the 2nd time around 🙂
I'm glad you enjoyed the video...... Again 😊 👍🏻
was hoping to see some numbers from off the toe
Glad you got what you wanted, I was having a day where everything seemed to be toe biased. In the forgiveness side of the video, there was some heel and low shots recorded to see how the club performs from those locations to 👍🏻
The pro as forgiving Jay?
You'll have to wait until tomorrow's Full Forgiveness Review of the JPX925 Hot Metal Pro to see 😉😊👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I play the jpx 919 HM. Do I need these 925's
Well worth a test but remember as with all new versions, 1. Only replace if there is a tangible reason to do so and 2. Manufacturers really don't make equipment thinking that the previous or even 2 previous model golfers will be instantly upgrading. Mainly it's for the guys that are well due a new set or trying to pinch market share from other manufacturers 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
A step backwards from a looks perspective IMHO. Prefer the looks of the ZX4, T350, Ai300 by a significant amount…
Seems to be a fairly common comment at the moment. Now that's normal especially after a distinct change. I'm slowly getting used to the new looks but as always, not everyone will like them so it's a definite horses for courses type look 👍🏻👍🏻
@@AskGolfNut would love to see you test the Ai300 at your 3 swing speeds. Your reviews are the best on TH-cam and it’s not even close!!!
@ski3504 glad you said that as I'm just finishing the video editing of it now 😊 👍🏻
@@AskGolfNut obviously we'll need a JPX HM v. AI300, since they're aimed at the same segment.
Hmmmm watch the Ai300 video and let me know what you think 😉👍🏻👍🏻
I loke the look of the 923's better. Not a fan of the color badge on the back. Looks cheap but that is just my opinion.
And it's a valid one, each individual has their own opinion and the fact that you put it in a constructive comment means the likes of Mizuno when they read it can make potential adjustments in the their next models design 👍🏻
