      What is the relation here?
      The IRGC that controls Iran is a dictatorship, it is only supported by 20% of the people.
      By the way, Parsi, gets paid by the Quincy Institute with major donations from prominent philanthropists such as George Soros and Charles Koch.
      Parsi is very biased, and probably supported by the IRGC as well

    Psychologically Netanyahu is a ''game player''. ''Game players'' are not interested in truth, integrity, morals, ethics or humanity - they are only interested in their ''own will' - getting whatever is beneficial for himself only - he has no interest in the well being of anyone else. Those who follow him are the same.

    No sure about Mr. Paesi's analysis about Harris taking a different stance from Biden. How did he see this? Nothing that's come out of her mouth has shown thus. She did say Israel has a right to defend itself. We're way beyond that now so enough said. In fact, she's already proven to be quite a disappointment for those wanting peace and believing in human rights and having even a tiny bit of morality. Not there with her unfortunately.

    • @EmmaKing30
      @EmmaKing30 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      It’s because of the implications of taking a stance on the matter in the election . Mr. Parsi’s analysis is right in the sense that Harris is quiet because on one hand if you take a hardline on Israel, it will please a lot of minority base that’s in swing states which may win her the election but it will upset AIPAC who will counter by supporting pro-Israel candidates for Congress & if she won the election, she’d have to deal with majority Republican HOC

    I'm screaming into the wind here, but I have a serious question for Mr. Parsi. Energy independence actually isn't the only US interest in the middle east. It's the fact that without US support to gulf monarchies they might think about not trading oil in dollars anymore? And THAT would actually be devastating for the US economy. Now that's an imperial reason still, and I don't support it. But until that fact changes the US investor class will have an interest in making sure the Middle east oil is traded in dollars. Unless the whole world switches to an alternative tomorrow, which doesn't needed to be traded in a reserve currency, then I think the US (investor class) has an interest in the middle east unfortunately.

  • @starrbowie8649

    The comment at about 55 min in about the Israelis not knowing there would be Palestinian resistance seems questionable. Early Zionist leaders Jabotinsky and Ben Gurion wrote that Palestine, the land proposed for tge establishment of Israel, was not only fully occupied but that its inhabitants would not relinquish any of it willingly. Invaders who have had to fight to gain the land know they have to maintain forces to keep the conquered from rebelling against their oppression. Once in power the oppressor prefers to rely on indoctrination to impose its supremacist lies on the conquered, and it may overestimate its success at times, but it is ever-vigilant and ever-ready to use arms. The Israelis consciously drove the Palestinians to resist by ever-increasing aggression -- they just underestimated the response.

    I very much enjoyed the interview. Professor Parsi offers a thoughtful analysis of the shifting balance of power in the region and beyond. What I've been missing in the conversation though, may be something of an elephant in the room, which is the Iranian regime's publically declared intention to destroy the state of Israel, together with the official denial of its intention to develop a nuclear arsenal. However one might be able to gauge these intentions, they are perceived as an existential threat in Israel, so much so that even the fiercest critics of the current goverment seem to agree on that perception.
    To underestimate the consequences of this might be a fatal mistake. The Israeli leadership seems to be intent on stepping up the escalation ladder in order to drag the US and its allies into a war with Iran. First to be hit, should this occur, could very well be Iran's nuclear installations, because to Israel, they have become the symbol of the regime's intentions and as such, a manifestation of the desire of many living in the region to correct the "historical injustice" and wipe Israel of the map. No matter where you stand on this idea, I think that anyone rejoicing in the idea of seeing the "Zionist State" defeated and destroyed, should consider that the price in order for this to happen is beyond anyone's ability to foresee, but might be far too high for all of us. I would welcome any guest on your show that could offer more insight and understanding, as a way to create common ground and against false beliefs and ignorance, which are the true enemies to each of us.
    It's my hope is that we, as human beings, are capable of transcending our self-righteousness and will be willing to end the "holy wars" we are waging upon one another. So much is to be lost if we don't.

Even another politician from Likud wouldnt be able to keep the right wing coalition together. That is very common knowledge.
    Assassination of Hezbollah and Hamas leaders is considered escalation? So the bombing of Majd Al Shahms football ground was what? It was a retaliation for the deliberate targeting and murder of many children. That is also common knowledge.
    These two are frankly lacking the most basic knowledge of the conflict. Utterly useless, propaganda rubbish.

What is the use or need to project power in that region? Is it just power for Chest Thumping creds, or is there something being gained from that "power." If it's about oil -- then why sanction ie. Iraq & Iran ability to market oil? Isn't it easier & cheaper to just compete and trade?
